@Alexandra2001

I'm not over keen on BJ and my heart sank when he was elected leader. I wish he would just go gracefully. I'm a bit sick of MPs holding onions to their eyes and trotting out sob stories. Nauseating

Yes he is doing sterling work for the independence movement in Scotland and for farmers all over the UK, most of the ones i know really hate him know.
Personally i could tell everyone some quite heart breaking stories but these things are best spoken of in general terms or not at all.

Yes he's a recruitment sergeant for independence. And Carrie and her posh green chums have bent his ear about 'rewilding' They have stuck two fingers up to farmers. At a micro level though, the sheep trade is fantastic at the moment. The Scottish Tories want him to go and I agree.
sadpapercourtesan · 31/01/2022 18:44

I think Boris and Carrie Johnson as a unit are really quite a bullying machine, from all the snippets of evidence I've seen. There's a unusually large amount of hatred and paranoia swirling around the upper echelons of the Tory Party, and for a party whose basic model is that of a pack of jackals that's saying something.

We're being governed by a cabal of sociopathic children who though The Thick of It was a training resource.

@Rinoachicken

I wish to congratulate you @Rinoachicken your thread has got to 5 pages long without and squirrels or pointless links appearing. Long may it last.

'Trotting out sob stories'? What a nice way of referring to bereaved families who have lost loved ones and have since contacted their MP to express their anger about Johnson's parties and lies.

You thought Aaron Bell talking about his grandmother’s funeral was nauseating?

Really?

Perhaps not but it may also be someone who is looking at his political future and is jumping ship

I have every sympathy with the bereaved but I find MPs' use of their stories nauseating to be honest.
Pixxie7 · 31/01/2022 18:55

He won’t go unless pushed, the man is an absolute nightmare who is only interested in self preservation. I am sick of him going on about the same things yes the vaccine roll out was a success but the way he goes on you would be excused for thinking that he personally developed and administered them himself. He misses out the fact that Israel was actually the first and we have the highest level of deaths from Covid in Europe.

Blossomtoes · 31/01/2022 18:59

@UnconditionalSurrender

I think he has just thrown petrol on the fire this afternoon.
Agreed. Everything he does just makes it worse. I hope those letters are piling in now.
derxa · 31/01/2022 18:59

Which country in Europe has a higher number of covid deaths? I haven't looked at the figures in ages, so really have no idea. Is it Germany? That would make sense given its size.

We have one of the highest levels of deaths.

^this

MPs are people too.

DuncinToffee · 31/01/2022 19:07

@Notonthestairs

Gove's PPS Angela Richardson MP has resigned citing the PM.
She also voted against the party during Paterson gate and got fired over it.

Well done her

In terms of total deaths we have the highest number but not the highest deaths per million.
www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/
Our death rate is nothing to be proud of though.

HavenLane · 31/01/2022 19:08

Absolutely shocking, a morally bankrupt PM. I'm ashamed to be British.

When the truly nauseating and horrifying spectacle is Boris's use of the country for his own heartless ends.

We have the highest number by some way, nearest is Italy on 146k we are 155k.

Germany is 118k.

It goes to show that drinking and making critical decisions does not go hand in hand.

But I don't support BJ. He and Carrie have to go

@Rinoachicken

Listening to Nadine Dorris on BBC News right now 🤮

Nothing more infuriating and insulting than MPs PRESUMING to tell the public what they should be interested in, what they should care about.

Talk about out of touch.

They may be right to a point - we ARE sick of all this - but there’s a simple remedy to all that — GET RID OF HIM!

This. A thousand times. Don’t come and start saying “The public care about… not about…”. Don’t tell me what I care about or what I’m interested in, or what I should think.
CSWife · 31/01/2022 19:18

I thought the MPs who recounted personal stores did so very eloquently and appropriately. It really brought it right into the chamber that this wasn't experienced by 'other people'.

Conversely I thought the MPs who recounted stories of 'my constituent Xx' was largely meaningless because every MP will have hundreds of those stories and that's the type the PM can just give condolences to and ignore. The one exception being the female MP of the young boy who spoke of his death.

20 countries in Europe have higher death rates per million than the UK. Italy and Belgium included

Orcadianrythyms · 31/01/2022 19:21

Just watched Nadine Norris on C4!!! Enough is enough. She was sat on the front bench speaking behind her phone and just seen her on the news saying I didn't hear him say that, he's done nothing, I believe him. This is now beyond the tit that is Johnston, the whole Conservative Party is morally bankrupt if he's still in Number 10 by the morning. Never getting my vote again!

Saucery · 31/01/2022 19:24

She was like a child at the back of the class talking behind her phone. And I have rarely seen such a display of childish, unctuous tantrumming as she just displayed on CH4 News. Who the fuck does she think she is?

BitterTits · 31/01/2022 19:25

Nadine Dorries came across as a harrumphing twat on C4. Really cringeworthy.
