Who should replace Boris?

If/when he goes. I know many would would prefer someone other than a Tory to do so but let’s be realistic. Out of the front runners in the cabinet, who would you want to replace him ant why?

No member of the Cabinet is fit to lead the country. They're only there because they're Johnson nodding dogs.

EIIa · 26/01/2022 22:18

Jeremy hunt?

Dunno - I hate them all

ohfourfoxache · 26/01/2022 22:18

Larry the cat

DrSbaitso · 26/01/2022 22:19

@ohfourfoxache

Larry the cat
Seconded.

A balloon with a smiley face drawn in it.

Thebodyshopolive · 26/01/2022 22:19

Hunt would be the best of a bad bunch, is he even thinking of running though?

Jenasaurus · 26/01/2022 22:20

Jackie Weaver

HollowTalk · 26/01/2022 22:21

There's no way that Jeremy Hunt could, would or should get it.

Creamcrackersandricecakes · 26/01/2022 22:22

None of them, they're all a fucking disgrace. Asking who I would 'prefer' is like asking me if I'd rather be hit repeatedly in the face with a frying pan or a shovel.

PerfectWeatherForIt · 26/01/2022 22:22

Daddy Pig

urbanbuddha · 26/01/2022 22:25

Keir Starmer.
The Tories have shown themselves to be unfit for purpose.

BarryFromEastenders · 27/01/2022 00:24

Keir Starmer. These tories are making mugs of us!

Sonex · 27/01/2022 00:29

Some great suggestions here. Am loving Daddy Pig and Jackie Weaver.

Out of the Tory gene pool, the only one that doesn't make me angry is Baroness whatsername, went in Taskmaster etc.

Realistically, is Sajid Javed an option? He's not quite as offensive as the rest.

LemonSwan · 27/01/2022 00:30

I am going to say Rishi. I thought he did really well with striking the balance on the COVID packages - and I say that as someone who missed out on any payments / support but he had to draw the line somewhere.

mynamesnotMa · 27/01/2022 00:34

A bum hole

AlexaShutUp · 27/01/2022 00:36

None of them. They're all utterly spineless or they would have got rid of Boris by now. Or at least spoken out against him.

I think Nadhim Zahawi comes across as more competent than most of them but I don't know enough yet about his politics. (Though he is a Tory and has served in Johnson's cabinet, so neither of those things are positives Hmm)

KloppsTeeth · 27/01/2022 00:39

Isn’t it depressing that none of them seem to be any good.

Jackie Weaver would be good.

I still think we should collective stage a revolution as between us I’m sure we could do a better job than the lot of them.

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 27/01/2022 04:58

I wish Jackie Weaver ran the country. The woman's an absolute legend 😎

Itstheprinciple · 27/01/2022 06:58

Andy Burnham. But he is in a different party and not even the leader of that party so it's probably not immediately likely!

repairshopfan · 27/01/2022 07:05

None of the current lot bar Rishi. There must be principled people in there on the back benches who are capable of leading who would be better than the current bunch. Look at Sir David Amess (RIP), principled and hugely well respected.

Baroness Warsi is always impressive - not that she's in the frame!

HalfwomanHalfcookie · 27/01/2022 07:26

None of them. Unfortunately they got rid of the half decent ones to "Get Brexit done"

itsgettingweird · 27/01/2022 07:28

Not Rishi. He is too far removed from the knowledge of poverty etc for even the Tory's. His policies would affect those on the breadline further.

Love the idea of Jackie Weaver.

Personally although I can't name any off the top of my head any Tory who has stood up and agreed Johnson is a disgrace and needs to go should run the party.

Not his weak cabinet followers if the current set up.

He cleared out experienced and in-anyway-compassionate-and-principed MPs. I am trying to remember when it was - before the last GE, when he remove the whip as punishment for not voting his way over something brexit related?

But yes, Jeremy hunt seems the best (god help us!)

sst1234 · 27/01/2022 07:45

Surprised no one said Liz Truss so far.
