sst1234 · 26/01/2022 21:50

If/when he goes. I know many would would prefer someone other than a Tory to do so but let’s be realistic. Out of the front runners in the cabinet, who would you want to replace him ant why?

OP posts:
FatherBuzzCagney · 27/01/2022 20:31

Apologies to everyone else for the derail!

JazzyBBG · 27/01/2022 20:35

I'm sure Gove is hatching a takeover plan and that Sue Gray is his minion.
I can't bear him but I don't doubt he's the most intelligent or competent.

HappyDays40 · 27/01/2022 20:36

Me.

FatherBuzzCagney · 27/01/2022 20:38

Hope you're not Michael Gove HappyDays40

MaidinChelsea79 · 27/01/2022 20:43

Is't it incredible how utterly abhorrent and repugnant Boris and his cabinet must be to make the possibility of Jeremy Hunt as PM seem faintly optimistic. 🤢🤮

LetsGoParty · 27/01/2022 21:16

Before people make suggestions do they do any research or do they base their ideas on gut feeling because some of these suggestions are for people who are pretty disreputable 😕

I think there is one obvious choice for pm and it's Martin Lewis. He doesn't want to do it as he doesn't do politics but he is very intelligent and would be quite capable of making decisions with the help of advisors. Having a PM who is actually honest, straight forward and not self serving would be amazing.

He's got a bit of an annoying voice but I could live with that 😅

CustardySergeant · 27/01/2022 21:28

@sst1234

Surprised no one said Liz Truss so far.
I will never be able to take her seriously, having seen her rant about cheese imports.
22itsallnew · 27/01/2022 21:58

Hunt or Javid apper to be the best of a very bad lot. Or bring bad Teresa May - all is forgiven. At least she's not a bare faced skiving liar.

Not Sunak for writing off £43 BILLION in fraud from Covid payments & subsidising McDonalds in eat out to help out. Shame on Johnson for allowing either of those things to happen.

MaidinChelsea79 · 27/01/2022 22:04

Tobias Ellwood seems like a man with integrity. I don't agree with his political views whatsoever but then I don't vote Conservative. He did attempt to save the life of PC Keith Palmer and I doubt Boris Johnson would ever do something like that.

I don't know if he's up for it though. I think Tom Tugendaht will be the back bench candidate.

QueenOfHiraeth · 27/01/2022 22:10

It doesn't matter because we have allowed the media to undermine and ridicule politicians to the point that anyone, Tory or Labour, will also die the "death of a thousand cuts" from them.
I feel quite gloomy about the future as I cannot see we can ever have any stability or putting the interests of the country and the people first

22itsallnew · 27/01/2022 22:11

Oliver Dowdon - talking potato.
Patel - bully
Gove - can string a sentence together but puts everyones backs up
Shapps - had a 2nd identity for 'business purposes'
Gavin Williamson - is a mutant alogrithm
Handy Hancock of the order of the pink tie - put' his arms around the care homes' and then his married aide - both disastorous
Truss - appears contemptuous
To be honest I haven't heard anything credible from a Tory for a while as they've been peddling Johnson's bullshit for 2 years - e.g. voting against free school meals and voting to help Owen Patterson. Wish a few would grow a conscience

How on earth is it the media's fault?! I'm glad they are scrutinising the behaviour of Johnson and his cronies! We are not in Russia!
Curiousmouse · 27/01/2022 22:31

Not Sunak or Truss. She is without presence or personality and he is on the extreme right, and a billionaire. He would squeeze the budgets of normal people far more.

Snowisfalling33 · 27/01/2022 22:38

Is Rory Stewart still an option? I liked him but I think he's seen the light and left now?

TimeFlysWhenYoureHavingRum · 27/01/2022 22:40

Every single one of these Tories have shown themselves to be utterly unfit for high office either by their own actions or their complicity with and defence of their colleagues various disgraces not least but not limited to the current "prime minister". A general election is the only way to get the country back to some kind of stability.
I'm not normally a Labour supporter but Kier Starmer would be a great replacement.

daimbarsatemydogsbone · 27/01/2022 22:54

Shapps had more than one additional identity and he lied about it too.

finished31 · 27/01/2022 22:58

Liz Truss will be as ruthless as Maggie T if she gets in. Jeremy Hont is the best out of them cranks!

Martin Lewis not that he would want to be

VelvetChairGirl · 27/01/2022 23:00

An inanimate carbon rod

repairshopfan · 28/01/2022 05:22

Hmmmm why we posts about Liz being deleted HQ?

I said she was dead pan, that I’d met her a decade ago and that dead pan wasn’t recently acquired. That she’d be a MTIi.

My post has been deleted without msg, just as someone else’s in a similar theme was yesterday.

Flowertailbird · 28/01/2022 05:40

Jackie Weaver would be ace

Flowertailbird · 28/01/2022 05:44

@Lockedoorsopen

We have bigger fish to fry right now he needs to stay and see us through more impending shite that is on the horizon - then we can have the next GE. Which is what happens in a demographic. the media should not be able to dictate who stays in power.

I am sick of hearing about sodding parties and cake when we are possibly going to war with Russia - this is real people and we need to be worried.

There is no bigger fish to fry than getting that liar out of number 10. Only when that incompetent idiot is out can we begin to get the frying pan out and start frying fish without the worry of the house being burnt down.
changeyourname11111 · 28/01/2022 06:14

@Creamcrackersandricecakes

None of them, they're all a fucking disgrace. Asking who I would 'prefer' is like asking me if I'd rather be hit repeatedly in the face with a frying pan or a shovel.
Grin and I agree
KloppsTeeth · 28/01/2022 08:05

I’m going for a crisis government of:

Jackie Weaver - PM
Paul O’Grady - animal welfare
Ian Hislop - standards in public office
Martin Lewis - all things money
Jack Monroe - Poverty Tsar
Billy Connolly - Scotland
Prof Brian Cox - Science
Micky Flanagan - spy detector - any spies uncovered in parliament would be met with “oi! oi! Caught a geezer peeping!” He could also be good at Russian / Ukraine negotiations “oh leave it out!”
Karl Pilkington - Bullshit Man, doing us all a service of flying in to point out bullshit
I’m sure there are more. But Jackie Weaver for PM would be a great start.

FindingMeno · 28/01/2022 08:06

No bloody Tories will be acceptable for me.

setthecontrols · 28/01/2022 09:06
