I know he'll be replaced by someone equally awful and I know he's not quite gone yet, but I can't remember when I felt uplifted about politics and the ejection of this national embarrassment is warming my cockles. Anyone else feel the same?

Sadly I will have to vote Tory at the next election despite never voting for them before because every other party is intent in throwing women and girls under a bus. Until Labour and the Lib Dens get their act together on gender ideology I will be forced to vote Tory. It’s a sad state of affairs

BJ is sexist, racist and corrupt af. What have Tories even done to address Womens rights anyway? If you vote Tory then fine but I dont get why people still pretend it's to do with Women's rights.

LethargicActress · 19/01/2022 08:33

I’m not a Boris fan but I don’t like the way the media are playing this. They won’t shut up about it and it’s become boring. I’d rather they just got on with running the country, and I don’t want that disgusting slimeball Judas Cummings feeling like he’s won.

Branleuse · 19/01/2022 08:34

i feel surprisingly "meh" about it all.
I was really upset and unsettled when Boris got in. I think hes a massive crook and obviously thats what he is, but it sickens me how the news and media can make whatever charlatan they want seem like the answer and then they break them down.
It was Cameron should go, May should go, Boris should go,.

What difference does it make? Its all sewn up. Public services are fucked. Theyve done a massive landgrab and thats not going to be redistributed back. Its all fucked and whoever else gets in is going to have the same treatment. Celebrity status, then kick them down for public entertainment.
The people vote for whoever theyre told to vote for and then they turn against who theyre told to turn against.

Politics is the entertainment division of the military industrial complex - Frank Zappa

SueSaid · 19/01/2022 08:34

I wonder if itv etc have heard of Russia or the Ukraine. Perhaps someone could tell the media there is really serious shit going on. But nope, 'Cummings said....'

Branleuse · 19/01/2022 08:35

@JackieWeaverHandforthCouncil

The ‘at least he knows what a woman is!’ types are nuts. When asked what misogyny was, Raab believed it also applied to the abuse of men. The Tories also didn’t want to label misogyny as a hate crime but as long as any of them are openly anti-trans some people on here will vote themselves into poverty and international embarrassment to support them. Bonkers.
quite!
itrytomakemyway · 19/01/2022 08:37

I hope that every single person who voted Tory in the last election takes a good, hard look at themselves. YOU allowed this to happen. YOU have made this country into a laughing stock. How anyone could see even a two minute interview from Mr Johnston on TV and think 'there is a man I can give my vote to' is beyond me.

He should never have been PM in the first place. He needs to go.

Bouledeneige · 19/01/2022 08:37

I agree OP. I'm enjoying it but I will astonished and disgusted if he survives. No one has any respect for him. Literally no one.

middleager · 19/01/2022 08:37

Is it his downfall though? He keeps evading it, no wonder he's nicknamed the greased piglet.

AlternativePerspective · 19/01/2022 08:40

IMO people are taking “no-one warned me” wrongly.

IMO it’s not that he didn’t know, he blatantly did and is responsible, but IMO Cummings is a lying cunt who has attempted to make himself look like someone with an ounce of integrity and the media are lapping it up.

I don’t believe Cummings ever said anything of the sort to Boris or anyone else for that matter.

The fact that the media are taking cummings’ word and have essentially made him into some kind of paragon of truth and honesty over this is far more embarrassing than any of the rest.

I don’t actually think Boris should go, because I think the alternative e.g. Priti Patel is a far worse prospect, be careful what you wish for and all that.

It would be far better for him to stay now, then at least we know what we have, and in the meantime the opposition need to get their bloody act together and make themselves more credible so we can vote the lot of them out in the next election.

Anotherhill · 19/01/2022 08:40

Rather Boris than a party that asks school kids about their anal sex experience.

Anotherhill · 19/01/2022 08:41

But yes, I agree he needs to go.

Worldgonecrazy · 19/01/2022 08:42

Absolutely. Our media are an embarrassment and as the consumers of that media, I guess the population own a share of that embarrassment. As a nation our critical thought, and our genuinely deep care for the plight of others, has been squashed by a preference for which cake Mary Berry liked, and who is shagging who on love island.

Even those canvassers I have talked to during electioneering have little to no knowledge of policies and/or their effects.

On a ‘lighter’ note, if Johnson goes today, and we find ourselves in a similar state to France or Austria in 3 weeks time, it will be a point score for the WEF conspiracy theorists.

Skeumorph · 19/01/2022 08:42

I can't see it's much different to all the many other times we've had it rubbed in our faces that our government are a bunch of corrupt thickos.

MimiDaisy11 · 19/01/2022 08:44

No it was inevitable and just depressing. The public won’t learn from this and will vote in the next charlatan. I mean he’d been sacked for lying before and his own boss said how unfit he would be. I just don’t understand how this could be a surprise to anyone.

Lalliella · 19/01/2022 08:46

YANBU. Karma. I’ve always hated the Tories but he is the worst of the worst. May “Let the bodies pile high” be his epitaph. Cunt.

MimiDaisy11 · 19/01/2022 08:46

Listening to Boris’s excuses you have to think either he’s an idiot or he thinks the public is. Perhaps both are true.

Alexandra2001 · 19/01/2022 08:47

@JaniieJones

I wonder if itv etc have heard of Russia or the Ukraine. Perhaps someone could tell the media there is really serious shit going on. But nope, 'Cummings said....'
Its been heavily covered on Sky, BBC News, R4 .... the conflict in eastern Ukraine has being going on for almost a decade... why the concern now??? but really, a guy that needs telling whether 40 people in his garden, with tables, food, wine is a party or a work meeting.... is not the PM to deal with pressing world issues.

Yes we are the first to be coming out of this Pandemic, we were the first into it too... with the highest death toll in Europe and we are not the fastest growing economy either.

But like Clav, the more you defend Bojo, the more you cement the case against him, if he or his supporters had any wisdom, they d come clean, stop hiding behind Sue Gray, stop the stupid excuses and apologise.

Blessex · 19/01/2022 08:50

@BewareTheLibrarians as I said. I will vote for the least bad. Kier Starmer said we are not right to say only women have cervixes. David Lammy said women are dinosaurs trying to protect women in safe spaces. Lisa Nandy said that a rapist feelings should trump women’s safety in prison and they should be housed with vulnerable women.

So yes. Until that lot stop spouting garbage like that then Tory it will be. Once they stop spouting that shit I will move back.

Good day.

SueSaid · 19/01/2022 08:50

'IMO people are taking “no-one warned me” wrongly.'

Exactly. He was responding to Rigby's accusations that people had told him it was a party.

Maybe Cummings will actually present evidence, surely he has the email he sent Johnson where he alleges he said it shouldn't go ahead? He's a bit slack with his evidence isn't he.

RememberThePenguins · 19/01/2022 08:52

It's women who will suffer more because if the cost of living increases continue. Women will be the ones who cut their work hours to save on childcare costs. Women will make sure their children are fed and clothed before they take care of their own needs. Women will be the victims of violent crime when there are more police cuts. So it's weird to see self declared feminists stating that they would vote conservative again Confused

MyOtherProfile · 19/01/2022 08:55

@Anotherhill

Rather Boris than a party that asks school kids about their anal sex experience.
What are you talking about? Is this actual fact or something from the daily mail?

And anyway do you really think asking questions is anywhere near as bad as any number of things this government have done? If so you need a rethink.

Blessex · 19/01/2022 08:57

@DeeCeeCherry did you know there was a Labour female MP who was too scared to go to the Labour Party Conference. Did you see the strong female fringe events at the Conservative Party Conference? I am not naive enough to think it is about one individual in a party. It is about party policy. Labour was formed by male working classes. And look at the party. Can’t even muster up a female leader. So whilst on the surface things may look one way. If you scratch a bit deeper…

YourenutsmiLord · 19/01/2022 08:59

Inflation is the highest it's been in 30 years. Not everything in the No10 garden is rosy.

Hoppinggreen · 19/01/2022 09:01

I hate him and hope he goes at some point this year BUT firstly I dont think he will unfortunately and also who would replace him?

Yumperwumpee · 19/01/2022 09:01

I am gender critical, but for pete's sake - there is a bigger picture here.
