I'm on a discussion FB page. I never post on it but I read it occasionally. Mainly just to gawp at the craziness.

It is FULL of woke types, can't say man or woman it's person with a vagina, chest feeder, all that sort of crap.

Anyway, I've noticed a new thing now where no one is allowed to say dead anymore. It's "unalived". Literally everyone says it. Apparently the word dead or killed is triggering and we should all say "unalived" now.

Today they were discussing dates and whether you tell friends where you're going before you meet the person. All very sensible of course. But the comments are all "yes because I'd hate to be found unalived the next day". These are adult humans talking like this...

I just... what?! Was the world always this insane?

It’s because TikTok has words that can trigger deletion I think and dead is one of them.

I know quite a few people say unalived on some sites because words like suicide or murder automatically get the video or post taken down.

Unalived is usually used ironically because certain social media’s censor or shadow ban content with the word suicide stated explicitly.

You need to give us a link so we can have a look!

I think that started on social media sites as a way to by pass being unable to talk about suicide. Like TikTok for instance, it will flag your video if you include the word suicide and possibly delete. Tell them they are allowed to say suicide. It's not offensive. Twats

Yeah it's definitely a tiktok thing but no reason for it to travel over to a facebook where it isn't a banned word.

Though I've reported quite a few things on fb recently where I've seen blatant racism or sexism and they've been allowed to stand so I don't think fb really has any rules.

This cannot be real. Woke is not a strong enough word. These people have left the planet on the last bus and are now living in a parallel universe.

If we want to avoid using the word dead, we have plenty enough phrases already 😂

Maybe you should try some of them, or paste a YouTube video to the dead parrot sketch...

We saw something similar on another board on here recently. A poster over from Reddit was using terms often used on that site to show tone nuances i.e /gen to show that a comment is meant in a genuine way or /pa to show that it's meant in a passive aggressive way. Apparently it's helpful for those who are neurodiverse which seems like a good idea but as those terms aren't used on this site, it just confused the hell out of everyone and half the rest of the comments were people saying 'what does /gen mean?'

I can understand people using the word 'unalive' on site that deletes or bans posts using the word dead but it's just odd to use it on a different platform where such a rule doesn't exist.

Dead and suicide aren't banned words on FB. Maybe get your facts straight.

Agree with @Snoken that being woke is positive.

Not every strange thing you see/hear/read is woke.

If it is just a way to get around automatic censorship, again that makes sense to me.
