I'm on a discussion FB page. I never post on it but I read it occasionally. Mainly just to gawp at the craziness.

It is FULL of woke types, can't say man or woman it's person with a vagina, chest feeder, all that sort of crap.

Anyway, I've noticed a new thing now where no one is allowed to say dead anymore. It's "unalived". Literally everyone says it. Apparently the word dead or killed is triggering and we should all say "unalived" now.

Today they were discussing dates and whether you tell friends where you're going before you meet the person. All very sensible of course. But the comments are all "yes because I'd hate to be found unalived the next day". These are adult humans talking like this...

I just... what?! Was the world always this insane?

You know when a trend appears and then a few generations later, there's a backlash and the trend goes the opposite way? Wake me up when that happens, it's going to be fricken hilarious and hopefully all the batshits will have pulled their heads out of their arses.

Honestly of all the things to get worked up about at the moment, this wouldn't be in my top 100.

That is fucking hilarious! But on a serious note, I wouldn't want to be on social media platform where you can't say "dead" or "suicide" - it's about context and people need to be responsible and mature enough to handle social media. Banning words doesn't get rid of the actions

Unalived is usually used ironically because certain social media’s censor or shadow ban content with the word suicide stated explicitly.

Are people who are alive referred to as the undied thwn, to match unalive?

Ironically, it's quite "woke" (in the way you use it, not the actual meaning of it) to get so offended and outraged about something you can change. Leave the group? Keep using dead and leave others to it? Block some annoying people?

It's a bit "woke" to come here to complain about "woke" people because you know it will get posters frothing - did these people ever call themselves 'woke' though or is this one of those 'anyone who doesn't act the way I want is 'woke' type posts?

In a lot of groups they don't want you using words like, dead, suicide, sexual assault, rape, breast etc because they are words that can be flagged and after a certain amount the groups are sometimes just closed down, as was explained to me quite a few months back anyway
