Why do men do this

Tevion28 · 17/01/2022 15:11

Following on from the Ashling Murthy murder and the likes of the Sarah Everard I've been thinking alot as to why men do this and I can only think that they must have a deep hatred for women and feel threatened by us for some reason. What do you all think I'm not convinced that these men all have mental health problems myself.
@eldora So? There's quite a lot of women kill men, but you don't hear any drums being beaten about that.
Men are far, far more likely to be killed by another man than killed by a woman.

Barbarantia · 18/01/2022 21:40

Men hurt and kill men too/women kill men too:

Cars kill all kinds of people, not just children, so we should remove the slow down signs in front of schools?

there are well publicised cases of children killing children and adults, so we should stop calling out adults who physically assault children? When we call out child abuse are we saying all parents are abusive? Do all parents feel attacked by the existence of the nspcc?

My eyes could not roll further back in my head if they tried. What's with all the absolutist thinking? Do we still have to remind the entire planet that it's OK to focus on women? It's not sexist to focus on just women. It's sexist to deny people services, or limit their lives because of their sex.

I repeat, thinking of women and how to make women's lives better is not sexist. Jeez.

Menofsteel · 18/01/2022 21:40

I echo what PPs have said that most men don’t believe, at a deep fundamental level, that women are “like” them. That we think and make informed decisions and learn and get angry. My dds dad (who I kicked out as soon as this happened), wasn’t working but felt I should be subordinate to him and give him control of the money now he didn’t have a wage. His reason when I asked why? “I’M the man for gods sake!” When pushed he admitted that neither he nor any of his friends honestly thought women “could be trusted to do anything without a man protecting them because we just aren’t as tuned in.” I believe this attitude is much more common than we want to believe. They don’t think they’re dealing with a human, they believe they’re taking control of a pet or childlike lesser being. Came as a shock to him when I kicked him out with the reminder that this was my house that I owned…(happy ending)

Silverswirl · 18/01/2022 21:53

@Bitbloweyoutthere yes of course it’s in your nature- you’ve had children (unless you were forced to have them of course) and I take it that you protect and nurture them? What a bizarre thing to say.
Anyway, I was talking generally of course. I don’t mean 100% of women! But the vast and overwhelming majority protect and nurture. It’s how humans survived for 199,900 of our 200,000 years on this planet, because I’ll tell you what, it’s not been the men that have been nurturing and child rearing / looking after elderly all those years. Only in the last 100 (and that’s being generous) have they really got involved.

Enough4me · 18/01/2022 22:09

Men attack men, and men attack women. Very very few women attack men.

Any women can be attacked by a predatory man, just for being a woman (smaller, alone, able to be raped).

I think it's about control. Men who want to control who show they hold power.

@Mouseonmychair

To be fair humans are animal and display animal like behaviour we evolved through natural selection with females preferring to mate with males of certain characteristics. Male animals are violent, have you ever seen stags rut or duck mate? They are chemically programmed with testosterone to behave that way. For reasons of biological advantage for natural selection purposes. In a similar way that females are statistically more likely to be responsible for the death of the child yet nobody goes around saying women hate children. www.google.com/amp/s/amp.abc.net.au/article/10793162 . And at different times of their lifetimes are also affected by hormonal changes.
You are wrong about women more likely to kill children than men www.unodc.org/documents/data-and-analysis/gsh/Booklet_6new.pdf < an actual study from a data collecting body. Very interesting about how mothers kill usually due to psychological issues and men are far more likely to kill their children in revenge for a woman leaving them.

And children are so rarely murdered yet 1 in 10 women will be towed and 2 a week murdered in the UK alone.

AsYouWishButtercup · 18/01/2022 22:42

@Bowwowwowoh

Something to do with the early mother-son relationship where the boy was worshipped by the mother? Since no woman could sustain that sort of devotion, at some stage the boy will have felt let down by the mother - perhaps she might have reprimanded him when ordinarily she wouldn't. He wants to 'punish' the mother for not worshipping him in the way he feels he is entitled to, so he projects that perceived failing onto a woman he does not know?
Women are blamed for male violence. How refreshing Hmm
Enough4me · 18/01/2022 22:48

Man attacks women, but poor him..."his mum told him off", "he was stressed", "women wouldn't date him"...yes always women making men show bad behaviour 🙄

AsYouWishButtercup · 18/01/2022 22:51

My expensive bike was stolen a few weeks ago, and I didn't bother reporting because it would have been futile. Sad reality but not one that can be changed by parliament.

@BellatricksStrange stop. Just stop. you’re seriously embarrassing yourself by continuing to compare women to phones and bikes. I can’t believe people like you exist in 2022. This is the same tired, thick and fucking idiotic argument that was getting made in the 1979’s FFS

Enough4me · 18/01/2022 22:55

The reality in many areas across the UK is that people want the violence towards women to stop.

@WiganDiva

The male of the species is driven by sex and aggression, so Freud said. If you think about it, it’s actually necessary for the survival of the species. It’s in the DNA at a deep, very fundamental level. It’s usually under control because we have been civilised over the centuries but in some men it takes over, due to not enough of an outlet for it or their life experiences or encouragement on the internet or their mental health or whatever.

It’ll never change, it’s fundamental to human nature, you may as well try and change the stars.

This is just getting depressing now.

I’d also like to know the evolutionary purpose of raping and torturing women? Does ickle Timmy need an outlet bless him?

AsYouWishButtercup · 18/01/2022 22:59
@eldora So? There's quite a lot of women kill men, but you don't hear any drums being beaten about that.
No there isn’t. Men are responsible for 98% of violent crime

AsYouWishButtercup · 18/01/2022 23:01
@PleasantBirthday The UK if this thread is anything to go by.
You’re basing your fake statistics about female to male murdered on a MN thread?

People like you really should not be allowed in the internet. May I suggest the swings at the park for a more appropriate activity?

AsYouWishButtercup · 18/01/2022 23:03
@Dafey It doesn't alter the fact that men and women kill each other, regardless of percentage.
Some men don't like women, some women don't like men. It's the way it is.
😂😂😂😂😅😂 I’ve fucking heard it all now!! “Regardless of percentage” - so because men commit almost all murdered, sex is irrelevant because women DON’T commit zero murders?

Look if you’re gonna be an uncle misogynist at least try to be a smart one, otherwise it’s too much fun for the women you hate

AsYouWishButtercup · 18/01/2022 23:04
@PleasantBirthday that’s fair enough and I’m not saying I’m right. It’s just my opinion. I’m saying that the urge of sexual aggression is innate in humans (and animals) and therefore means this type of crime will never be truly eradicated. Depressingly.
Source to suggest innate violence is only prevalent in males?

AsYouWishButtercup · 18/01/2022 23:08

*incel misogynist

Enough4me · 18/01/2022 23:12

@AsYouWishButtercup perhaps the poster is a misogynistic uncle too. Definitely incel vibes coming across.

AsYouWishButtercup · 18/01/2022 23:14

Ha true!

I just wish these incel men were not so thick, it’s very boring arguing with such an easy target.

eastegg · 18/01/2022 23:19

@thelegohooverer

I think that there is a lot to unpick.

And adding to what has already been said I don’t think it’s helpful that many of the most powerful men in society studied, and in many cases majored in rape mythology, otherwise known as Classics.

Hmm

I studied Classics at university. Had no idea I’d actually got a degree in rape mythology.

Enough4me · 19/01/2022 00:29

@eastegg...bit awkward!

AllKindsOfWrong · 19/01/2022 07:11

Nothing misogynistic about it. Men kill women, women kill men.
Pleasant Birthday asked where this invented place is where men kill women, my reply was to that. I never mentioned percentages or statistics.
Carry on.

Oneearringlost · 19/01/2022 07:53

@stupendousfragmentariness

Because their parents raised them that way, IME
Do you think it is as simple as that?
MsTSwift · 19/01/2022 08:17

Is that some kind of joke post? 🙄

PleasantBirthday · 19/01/2022 08:26

The reason you can't answers the question, as you pretty much admit, is because there is no answer. There is no country anywhere where women kill men in numbers that even register. Fatal violence by women is vanishingly rare and you're fully aware of that.

So what is your motive for this silly statement?

Appropriate username.

I know your kind. Your clones have been populating the Internet since 2003. I know you're insecure and we terrify you, and I should just feel sorry for you, but jeez I am sick of seeing you lot popping up all over the place.
