I am 38 and I want one of those shopping trolleys that are basically a bag on a frame on wheels. I don't drive (don't start, tried both manual and automatic and can't get to grips with it also can't afford it) and I also don't like taking public transport so I tend to walk everywhere. But I also have hypermobility and during pandemic heights buggered myelbow carrying heavy shopping.
All in having a trolley would be very useful but I can't get passed being embarrassed about using one. Does anyone here have one that isnt of pension age?

Yabu you are still young and should put up with carrying everything it's extra exercise.

Yanbu go and get one they are fantastic. Age be damned.

VitalsStable · 14/01/2022 20:38

letsgettrollied.co.uk

Not just for grannies is their tag line.

Go for it. Stop giving a shit about what people think of you and your shopping trolley!!

Luredbyapomegranate · 14/01/2022 20:40

Oh I love them. I’d like one.

They must exist with funky designs?

CaptainNelson · 14/01/2022 20:44

Get a collapsible one. Then you can take it with you folded up, and unfold it when you need it. I have one - I used it loads when I was pregnant and beyond. They're brilliant!

TheChild · 14/01/2022 20:49

I'm 32 and have one, makes shopping so much easier! People might think I look "uncool", but I can get nearly my entire weekly shop home without my fingers breaking so I don't care 😁

My only tip, spend a bit of money getting a sturdy one, I got one from Home Bargains which was cheap but the top of the bag doesn't stay velcrowed to the top handle which is a pain!

A580Hojas · 14/01/2022 21:29

I am able bodied and lazy so if I want to get a lot of shopping I use the car. If we didn't have a car I absolutely would get a shopping trolley, no shame about it.

keffie12 · 14/01/2022 21:33

I have a gorgeous pink one. Just Google modern shopping trollies. Ive added a link below as an example to one

All our local students use them to carry their books and sports gear in. They have some really jazzy ones in neon colours or pretty floral. I have one with pink orchids on, and I love it, the only looks I get are those of envy!

Tigger1895 · 14/01/2022 21:47

Some of the most elegant women I know use them. They like to walk but don’t like carrying bags, as they get to hot. If it wasn’t for the buggy basket I’d get one.

Tp1976 · 14/01/2022 21:59

There was some really cool trendy ones in my local primark. Jet black, I was tempted and I don’t even need one!! Also they were reduced

Brennanlady1888 · 14/01/2022 22:44

Go for it!

Foxylass · 14/01/2022 22:45

I have been debating getting one - I have decided to go for it! Thank you

Scottsy100 · 14/01/2022 23:26

Get the trolley my daughter is 4 in May and scoots to the shops but sometimes I still take her pushchair just so I can put the shopping in it and carry it home 😂

supperlover · 14/01/2022 23:35

I have one of a Reisenthal carry cruiser which doesn't look frumpy. People often stop me in shops to ask where I got it. Expensive but I've had mine for years and even got handle replaced for free when I emailed the company. You can get them cheaper. Here's the link -www.reisenthel.com

Amitskitshaw · 15/01/2022 00:07

This is quite the thing in Paris

Dibbydoos · 15/01/2022 00:19

We call them billbobaggings bags. I have one, my sister, my neice even my 20yo daughter my 19yo son says we should use it more etc. Let's make them fashionable, they def help make local shopping easier. Go for it. Haters are gonna hate anyways...

FootieMama · 15/01/2022 00:33

I had one when I was around 30 and got fedup hurting of my arms carrying groceries. Lovely polkadot oneSmile. My partner did make fun of me but I just ignored him. And walking everywhere is good for your health and the planet's.

Amiable · 15/01/2022 00:48

Definitely get one.

Mine is turquoise, from Amazon. I love it!

HalzTangz · 15/01/2022 00:51

They do them in trendy designs now days to appeal to those below pension age.
I use a suitcase on wheels, fill it up with shopping and drag it home. When that dies a death I'll buy a trolley

jamandmarmaladethesecondcoming · 15/01/2022 01:05

They are zero emissions and no congestion charge.

I want one now.

fuzzywuzzywombat · 15/01/2022 02:02

I've had one for ages. I got it when I used to go on the train to visit my daughter at uni, there was always something to take back and forth. So that's more than ten years ago so must have been in my 40s.
Mine is a funky cow print and it's saved my arms and is so easy to pop to the local shop or take parcels to post.
Compare it in your head to a wheeled suitcase to the old way of carrying one, who would do that nowadays!

blueberryporridge · 15/01/2022 02:09

I have one but it's less of a life-saver than you think - if your shopping is heavy enough to be a pain to carry, then the trolley is still a pain to manuever and to pull along. If its contents is light enough for it to be easy to handle, the chances are you have a small enough amount that you could have carried it anyway.

Never had this problem with mine. It rolls along easily without any effort even when loaded really heavily. I love it!

NewYearNewMinty · 15/01/2022 02:15

I had one when I moved into my first flat at 21yo.

No car a d supermarket 5 minutes walk away - I managed to get a plain black one so it didn't look too fogey-ish.
