They're going right down to the wire at the moment. I sent DS' review back at the end of August and still haven't heard anything, it runs out on 7th January so I rang them this morning to check the progress. They said they're very busy and that if I haven't heard by 4th January to ring them again and they'll action it that day.

ForeverSinging · 30/12/2021 13:49

Same here. Rang today because it's been over 8 weeks and runs out on January 14th. Told they are doing them within days of them running out so have to keep waiting.

ForeverSinging · 30/12/2021 13:51

Oh but yours is a new claim so no idea how long they are running. Basically they are very busy so be prepared for a wait.

Oruguita · 30/12/2021 13:53

I sent DS review in only a few days before it was due and it was basically done immediately as we got the letter with the new award on the following week. This was 2 weeks ago.

ChrimboGateauxCatto · 30/12/2021 13:57

A friend has been waiting for six months for her new pip claim. Only upside is if you are awarded it they will back date to the date the received it. Did you send it recorded delivery?

Suzzie101 · 30/12/2021 16:35

no i didn’t send it on recorded delivery

@Suzzie101 my form was recieved on 18th oct, I rang today and was told they are currently working on forms recieved upto 19th oct (but mine still hasn’t been looked at). I’m nearly at 11 weeks so thinking I will hear around the 12 weeks mark! We can wait together Smile

Suzzie101 · 30/12/2021 22:00

@Pugsnotdrugs101 it’s agonising waiting and not knowing what’s going on, (tomorrow marks 9weeks) I rang today and they said it was with the decision maker and that I’d just have to wait until I receive a letter letting me know if I have been awarded for my daughter or not

OP posts:
Pugsnotdrugs101 · 30/12/2021 22:31

@Suzzie101 the wait is awful isn’t it! To be honest I’ve been calling up once a week. 🙈 to check on it. Some are lovely and check for you and others are downright rude. Mines not even with a decision maker yet! 😓

Suzzie101 · 30/12/2021 22:34

@Pugsnotdrugs101 how crazy is that, my claim is stamped after yours (30th october) and is already at the decision maker🙈 i’ve rang a few times in the earlier weeks and some of them just don’t want to know! i received a letter yesterday dated the 16th december to say ‘sorry we haven’t made a decision yet we will let you know when we have’ just hurry up, i’m so impatient lol

My son has changed circumstances so we are requesting the look at his claim again. It was stamped beginning of September and we've heard nothing. I was told just before Christmas that it would be into January before we heard anything. I asked if we went to one of the lower bands, would we need to pay back the extra we've been sent since we applied for it to be checked and the operator couldn't say yes or no. It's a nightmare.

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 30/12/2021 22:50

@Suzzie101 I know! I think it’s a gamble on which decision maker you get and how quickly they work etc. I’m going to call again tomorrow and pray I get someone nice 🙈 some of them hav been so rude!!

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 30/12/2021 22:50

@ScotsBaby2 aw I hope you hear soon! It’s so stressful isn’t it!

Suzzie101 · 30/12/2021 22:52

@Pugsnotdrugs101 fingers crossed it’s good news 🤞🏻 let me know how you get on! will be thinking of you.

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 30/12/2021 22:54

@Suzzie101 thank you! It’s nice we’re in it together! I’ll ask how long claims are usually with a decision maker before they get an outcome and let you know! Smile

Dds renewal is due 23rd Jan we didn't even get the form until 3rd November to fill out I was in hospital til 7th Nov so didn't get it back to them until 20th. We've got no chance of it being looked at before the renewal date have we. Don't know why the sent the form so late. Op when I helped my friend do sons claim it took them 7 weeks to look at his claim.
user9764577436 · 30/12/2021 23:02

Just so you know you get a text message saying whether you are entitled to anything (no specifics - just a yes or no to your claim).
I had a letter saying they hadn’t decided then a text the next day saying they have. The money was in my account a few days after that and the letter followed about a week after the text.

Littlely8384 · 30/12/2021 23:26

Change of circumstances sent August 26th recieved by DLA on 3rd September. Phone last week at 16weeks and told reconsiderations are taking 16 weeks just to be picked up by case worker! No do dictation as to how long it could take after this

Oruguita · 30/12/2021 23:56

@Jinglemychristmasbells our renewal was 10th Dec. I was very late filling the form out, they received it on the 9th Dec and we had the decision by the 16th Dec. So you’ll probably be fine.

My experience is you get the money in your account before you get the decision letter.

Cheersto2022 · 30/12/2021 23:58

We recently waited 18 weeks for a change of circumstances

Suzzie101 · 31/12/2021 00:34

@user9764577436 oh that’s interesting to know, i’m assuming because of the christmas holidays maybe they won’t send any texts out, letter dated 16th december came yesterday to say ‘sorry we haven’t made our decision yet’ i wonder how long after that before we hear, probably not before the end of january at this rate🙄

Wecando · 31/12/2021 06:13

It took nearly five months to get awarded mine. You also have an interview with an assessor before they reach their final decision.

Suzzie101 · 31/12/2021 07:44

@Wecando if you don’t mind we asking how come the process took a little longer for yourself?

SpookyScarySkeletons · 31/12/2021 07:54

If it's anything like PIP who will be waiting a long time!

I sent my new claim in June. Finally got an assessment on 30th November and expecting a decision by February.

Although like a PP said they will backdate if successful.

Suzzie101 · 31/12/2021 08:01

@SpookyScarySkeletons oh my gosh, i love as told 8 weeks and then 10 weeks and then 12 weeks🥴 the waiting is horrible
