Ghislaine Maxwell.....

Livelovebehappy · 30/12/2021 07:20

Ghislaine Maxwell has been found guilty of grooming young girls for Jeffrey Epstein. Whilst she absolutely was guilty of aiding the abuse of these girls, shouldn’t there now be investigations into the high profile men who were clearly involved in the abuse? Clinton and Trump, as well as a Prince Andrew were clearly very close to Epstein, and there have been rumours of many other famous people being around at the time. I actually think Epstein’s death was suspect, and I wouldn’t be surprised if his death had been staged to protect some high profile men from being exposed. Maxwell has definitely taken the fall for a lot of people who should have been in the dock with her.

@Giggorata

We had a girl named Ghislaine at my school. Everyone pronounced it as it is spelt, not Gillaine. Her parents, the teachers, she herself. (misses point of thread)
I’ll miss the point too: I also knew a girl at school called Ghislaine, pronounced as it’s spelt.

@Appleseesaw giz-Lane?

Yes, like that. The ‘g’ was pronounced as ‘j’.

About the verdict; I’m hopeful the victims will have a degree of closure, although no doubt there are more people who should be facing prosecution.

RussianSpy101 · 31/12/2021 21:58

@Appleseesaw thank you. I’ve never come across the name on anyone else so wasn’t aware of any alternative pronunciations. It’s not a very nice name really, is it!

Itsnotover · 31/12/2021 23:08

The Royals will have known about Savile. Of course they will. Nobody is allowed to go near them without the police knowing their entire background and the police also knew everything about Savile. They all covered it up.

Sick of hearing 'what happened to innocent until proven guilty?' Regarding Prince Andrew. He's had plenty of opportunity to assist the FBI and prove his innocence but chosen to hide behind mummy's skirts and ignore all papers served.. the interview he did was a disaster and an embarrassment to HM and his 2 daughters. It's the arrogance I can't stand. Nothing he has done indicates the actions of an innocent man. Yet I still see much more bile thrown at Meghan and Harry for simply stepping back from royal duties. PA knows he is above the law and it's wrong.

Roussette · 01/01/2022 08:13

@freckles83

Well said
It's all the ducking and diving and hiding out in Palaces to avoid papers being served and using every trick in the book to avoid being answerable that gets me. Hardly the actions of an innocent man?

And this is costing eye watering money, one alone charging $3,500 an hour and used to representing stars and celebs. And there's a team of them, as of this morning news says they're in a defiant mood and throwing every obstacle at the case

Next week is crucial I think.

Roussette · 01/01/2022 08:15

Should've said this is his legal team in the US.
He has one here too.
You need to dig deep your Majesty to get your son out of this

DingleyDel · 01/01/2022 08:16

Quite agree freckles83. I thought I’d start the new year with a buttock clenching exercise and have re watched the infamous interview. It does change things for PA now that GM has been convicted. He is very very clear to stress his close friendship (going back years) was with Epstein's ‘girlfriend’, rather than him. Well now she’s a convicted sex trafficker too. Hardly possible PA was so close to GM for their entire lives and didn’t have the slightest inkling what she was up to?

Ylvamoon · 01/01/2022 08:30

In a perfect world, the whole gang would be convicted for their crimes regardless of titles or the amount of money in the bank.

Sadly I believe PA will get away with a slapp on his hand and a oh he is just a naughty boy and others (not yet mentioned in the press) will get away with it as they are less high profile.

DeliriaSkibbly · 01/01/2022 11:30

The problem with a legal team just throwing every obstacle they can find at the case is that judges tend to get annoyed after a while. Judges don't like delay and obfuscation without good reason and I'd certainly not want to annoy the judge on my case.

The legal bills must be eye-watering...

Roussette · 01/01/2022 12:20

Given that Andrew's billionaire lifestyle (prior to this) and the source of his wealth is completely unknown, yes it is the Queen paying these legal bills which are expected to run into millions. Not surprising given two of his US legal team charge $3,500 and $2,000 per hour.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 01/01/2022 12:27

Undoubtably, yes, but does anyone imagine even for an instant that it'll come out of her private wealth even if that's what they try to claim?
Let's not forget this is the monarch who tried to dip into a fund for the disadvantaged in order to pay for palace heating - a ruse which the records show would have gone ahead had it not been made public

Justheretoaskaquestion91 · 01/01/2022 13:16

Just seen Virginia’s legal team asking to see proof that 1) he can’t sweat snd 2) he was in pizza express in Woking

He really is such an embarrassing twat. The interview is hopefully going to backfire massively

Roussette · 01/01/2022 13:26

Justthere I bet you never imagined you would be typing that about the Queen's son!

Yep, proof from doctors he couldn't sweat. Proof from anyone at all who was at Pizza Express that he was there (and there should be loads of people, it was a birthday party, so parents would be picking up their kids etc)

MsTSwift · 01/01/2022 13:26

Born with every advantage to a cushy life, best education money can buy, job for life the one thing he had to do was be a vaguely decent person - and he couldn’t even manage that 🙄. I absolutely despise him.

Roussette · 01/01/2022 13:30

Yes, I so agree. No one's perfect, the marriage went tits up, he could be an insufferably boring man... but it's so much worse. Rudeness, entitlement, and forever lining his own pockets with dodgy deals and disgusting people with poor track records for human rights, criminals, oligarchs etc.
He's despicable. He should've been reined in decades ago and I'm sorry for that I blame the Queen and PP. There was an article 12 years ago where the Queen 'expressed concern' about his friendship with JE and his role as a Trade Envoy.
Well ... I'm sorry ma'am... expressing concern does not cut it. He should've been bollocked decades before and made to toe the line.

NannyOggsWhiskyStash · 01/01/2022 13:35

A friend who works at Buckingham Palace once told me that all the young female staff are warned to keep away from PA. He is notoriously handsy, and rude to anyone that is not a pretty, young woman. It's just vile how the Queen is protecting him. Well past time to get rid of these leeches, I feel that the whole bile against Harry and Meghan is to distract from PA. I really would love to see more men named and shamed for their involvement in Epstein and Maxwell's sex trafficking ring, but sadly I think it won't happen.

Roussette · 01/01/2022 13:46

Yes. H&M have been a useful distraction tool for PA, and possibly William too. No wonder they left. Best thing they ever ever did.

Absolutely agree.

He is truly disgusting.

Unfortunately for the Queen, I think her support for him, considering how truly awful his behaviour has been, is hugely damaging.

She is far too astute to not know better.
So that leaves her character and morals.

To condone such behaviour by supporting him, is just so disappointing to see, after such an outstanding public life of service.

That she is head of a Church of England and yet appears so morally confused is a sad end to her career.

I imagine both Charles and William are keeping their powder dry until the Queen dies.

Hopefully he will be ruthlessly dealt with then, if the courts don't get him .

How William, with a daughter could look at him, is beyond me.

He truly is scum.

Interesting post. Yes, I am truly perplexed at the Queen. Of course she has led an exemplary life, but it's a life no one can imagine and so out of normality, it's untrue.
And I'm afraid her unwavering defence of him for decades shows how out of touch her, and the RF really are. They have not got a clue about real life and the longer time goes on, the worse it is going to become.

I agree, it's sad for her, for this to be her final legacy in the eyes of some, me included. What he has been like has overshadowed her reign I think. For a while when she dies, it will be brushed under the carpet, but it will never go away.

That may well be what happens. Charles has often spoken of his commitment to slimming down the Monarchy. Maybe he'll take the opportunity to cut off Andrew altogether.

Let's hope so. If he doesn't, I don't think the Monarchy will survive.
