to think that there's nothing more exciting in life than choosing a new diary/planner for the new year?

I don't think I spent this long choosing my childrens' pushchairs or even the family car!!

I'm with you! I love a good family planner. I know exactly what I need but it still takes a while to find one I know I won't hate looking at by June.

abouquetofsharpenedpencils · 26/12/2021 10:14

Yes!
And the feeling when it arrives! All those blank pages, a chance to start afresh Smile

TooWicked · 26/12/2021 10:15

I have a Filofax so it’s just new inserts for me, but still it gives me great pleasure nevertheless.

PlanktonsComputerWife · 26/12/2021 10:16

Spend more time on this than I did on choosing a husband tbh.

Thankfully, he supports my stationery habit.

PicaK · 26/12/2021 10:17

I will have to go electronic at some point but until then it's Boxclever Press all the way.... (just sat here putting in the dates...)

Nittersing · 26/12/2021 10:18

I may have spent hours comparing planners a few months ago then preordered it so I wouldn't miss out on the best designs this year 😄

wonderstuff · 26/12/2021 10:18

I get a Boxpress one that goes from September, so mine still has ages left. Love stationery.

ArblemarzipanTFruitcake · 26/12/2021 10:21

Yes! And using that dead time at work between Christmas and New Year to set up your new diary - when the shiny new year is just around the corner and the blank pages are gleaming with possibility.

BettyfromBristol · 26/12/2021 10:21

I have two, for different reasons. Love choosing them and often buy a new pen too.

LonginesPrime · 26/12/2021 10:23

I've got the boxclever academic wall and desk planners so I had the pleasure of choosing them in summer, but then I've got my bullet journal and goalsetting ones to sort out now - heaven!

toomuchturmericinwatermelon · 26/12/2021 10:53

I am looking at these two right now: www.papier.com/le-moderne-29093

what are your thoughts?

I have a Shared electronic one with DH that everything goes onto, then a planner on the fridge with kids stuff, what's going on and the meal plan. And then I have my Filofax. Also a new notebook each year for notes and scribblings (evolved from a bullet journal)

DazzlePaintedBattlePants · 26/12/2021 11:02

I have an Animal Crossing cover for my hobonichi arriving in January. Can’t wait!

MajorNeville · 26/12/2021 11:16

A Mums office or a moleskin with a blank page opposite the week at view for me, ooo which should I go for this year and what colour? So exciting!

thereisonlyoneofme · 26/12/2021 11:23

I like transferring phone nos and addresses into a new diary, Im old fashioned, still like things written down in case I lose my phone!
Every year I resolve to improve my handwriting, but usually it ends up with the normal scrawl

wonderstuff · 26/12/2021 11:28

@toomuchturmericinwatermelon

Both look gorgeous. I prefer the navy.
Catflapkitkat · 26/12/2021 11:31

I still have a filofax. On Christmas Eve we watched Die Hard. At one point Alan Rickman whips out a filofax my teenagers were laughing at my 'they were very popular in the 80s'

SocksAndTheCity · 26/12/2021 11:33

@toomuchturmericinwatermelon

I have the first one but in gold! It always takes me ages to pick one - the picture would be more help if it wasn't so bloody dark Hmm

I buy a Papier diary every year and because they start in November I can have a month of filling in two at the same time. I always do the old one first and then copy the day's entry over into the new one in my best writing 🤣

2toastornot2toast · 26/12/2021 11:36

I'm a novice but looking for a family planner to put in on fridge- any recommendations?

FishGottaSwim · 26/12/2021 11:41

Yes! At the ripe old age of 51 I started a small business in 2021, and for the first time in forever have ambitions and hopes again for a different future - my new diary for my business is a symbol of that for me, and I was actually pretty emotional buying it 😆

toomuchturmericinwatermelon · 26/12/2021 11:54

I feel that none fit my requirements. I don't want anything that's heavily patterned inside and definitely don't want affirmations. That's why I love the look of this one (www.papier.com/le-moderne-23577) but I'd actually prefer a soft cover. The pages inside need to be good quality!

This is the thread for me! I get my weekly academic planner in august as it goes with the school year, and year wall planner in December. I LOVE a planner 😍 it’s not just the choosing I like, but lovingly marking it up with the school holidays, birthdays, events etc in different-coloured markers. And being able to see what’s happening when in a big overview makes me feel calm. Although my kids think I’m an anal nerd and laugh at me, they like it too and complain that their dad doesn’t have one at his!

The lovely paper and stationery aspect is a big part of it. I’ve tried calendar apps etc but never found one I can get on with that’s not a faff to use. I love having it on paper.

toomuchturmericinwatermelon · 26/12/2021 11:58

This one is a contender but I am disappointed that the week doesn't fill both pages

I've ordered a family BusyB wall planner and diary planner, both have 5 rows on each page so I can write down each person's appointments/commitments and have a couple of columns spare for my working shifts and birthdays. Saw them on Calendar Club and liked them, not had that brand before but it's time to move away from the 'mum' branded calendars for me (I'm now out at work and DH is home instead).

LoveaStatementNap · 26/12/2021 12:13

Clever Fox Premium Pro. I’ve had SO many different types of planners but this one is right fkr me. They do differnt sizes and either daily or weekly. I adore the goals and planning sections and they focus my brain like no other. Super impressed.
