to think that there's nothing more exciting in life than choosing a new diary/planner for the new year?

I don't think I spent this long choosing my childrens' pushchairs or even the family car!!

AllLosided, I have been using Paperblanks as well for years. They are beautiful and handy. I use the mini journal and make sections for different areas of my life that need to be organized; a monthly to-do, book group, work hours, vacation planning, etc.

SunnyHens · 27/12/2021 09:15

Thank you for this thread! Yanbu!!
I’ve not used a planner for years as usually adapt by bullet journal but having browsed suggestions on this thread- I’m ordering one!!
Thank you @LoveaStatementNap - I’m going for the one you shared.

Ticksallboxes · 27/12/2021 09:22

I've been using my iPhone calendar for years - it has literally become my brain now - it's scary. I always say if it's not in my diary it's not going to happen!

What I love is if I'm on the move and I need to add something I can just ask Siri to create an event for me.

Ticksallboxes · 27/12/2021 09:29

Also, with family sharing on an iPhone, you can add an event and share it with the rest of your family if they need to be involved too, so it will also appear in their own calendars.

MollyScamp · 27/12/2021 09:37

Loving all the links!
I ordered mine in November...or was it October??

This year I created my own on this website and love it, so many options for customisation. Great inspiration on their Instagram page too.
It took 2 or 3 weeks to come though, but you can decide when it starts, you could get a cheap one in a pound shop for January and then start this in Feb.

@SunnyHens Yay! I hope you enjoy it and it proves useful for you.

Notonthestairs · 27/12/2021 10:23

I've bought a Moleskin 12 month planner AND a clever fox 3 month planner.

Moleskin for family stuff. But I have a big project I want to complete before Easter so I'm hoping Clever Fox will keep me focused for 12 weeks.

I bought a couple of cheap sparkly pens in Next before Christmas (the stuff they keep by the counter) and they are lovely to use. I must go back and stock up!

onedayoranother · 27/12/2021 12:07

Well I disagree- there are quite a few things more exciting! But yes I take a lot of time choosing one that looks good and has all the features I want. Then I fill in all the fixed dates (term dates etc). I look when the big holidays are, I imagine how much weight I will have lost by Easter (ha), and so on.

PlanktonsComputerWife · 27/12/2021 16:51

Extreme nerdism ahead: I also keep the personal part of my diary (a few lines every few days) in a secret code.Xmas Grin

Marmite27 · 27/12/2021 20:53

Bloody hell, I’ve been looking for this thread for hours!

I started reading it earlier then sloped off to Amazon…

I want to say thank you, because it solved my birthday present dilemma. Difficult to but for person will be getting a Clever Fox food and fitness planner.

happychristmasbum · 27/12/2021 21:08

Week covering two pages is an essential definitely.

I was so in my happy place transferring over information from 2021 to 2022.

Life doesn't get much better...

hilariousnamehere · 27/12/2021 21:09

Found my people! I think I currently have seven planners for 2022 alongside my four filofaxes... GrinBlush

My favourites so far are Fringe Studio, but am also trying a Carpe Diem one this year for goals planning.

adrianmolesmole · 27/12/2021 21:38

@hilariousnamehere what do you do with so many planners?!

Catcrazy83 · 27/12/2021 21:51

My great aunt sends me a set every Christmas, always my favourite present

DaisyRenton18 · 27/12/2021 21:53

I love planners Grin they make me so organised. Yes I have a phone, but it's just not the same!
I've tried most of the main brands, but Clever Fox is the only one I repeat buy now as it just works for me. Half hour slots for every day, lots of goal setting space, separate personal and work to do lists and no extra, unnecessary boxes fill in for the sake of it for the first week and then ignore for the rest of the year. The paper is thick enough for fountain pen and felt tip pen too, which is essential for me as I like to highlight the day's key event or task. Before I discovered CF I used to buy from CGD London, which were nice quality, and Hello Day is lovely. The planner just didn't work for me, but I did think it was a nice planner - if that makes sense!

KittenKong · 27/12/2021 21:54

@PicaK

I will have to go electronic at some point but until then it's Boxclever Press all the way.... (just sat here putting in the dates...)
Oh yes - that’s me! They even do wall calendars too!
JanisMoplin · 27/12/2021 22:17

Brilliant thread. I need one; looking up all the links. I always find making lists on actual paper calms me down.

hilariousnamehere · 27/12/2021 22:32
@hilariousnamehere what do you do with so many planners?!
I ask myself this regularly! Ok are you ready?

The filofaxes:
One is for business planning
One is for life, home and cat stuff
One is for books, witchery and recipes
One is my daily diary / schedule / notebook / bullet journal

The planners
One is for my daily to do list
One is for tracking what I've actually achieved each day
One is for tracking moods, cycles, health stuff etc
One is for social media and content planning
One is for weekly planning
One is my desk & studio diary for the business
And one was an accident but I'm sure I'll figure out a purpose for it Grin

JanisMoplin · 27/12/2021 22:36

@hilariousnamehere When I grow up, I want to be you.:)

Yebbie · 27/12/2021 22:42

Every year I spend hours picking out a really nice planner for the new year, it arrives and I fill it out as much as I can with any arrangements I already have for the year ahead, and then maybe check it once or twice more in January and then don't touch it again. Ever.

Yet every year I pick out a new one insisting this will be the year I maintain it and stay organised.

Icenii · 27/12/2021 22:49

I have a Papier daily planner for goals and planning, a free Folio society diary and a moon and season calender that gives you moon, sun, planet details each day and tranditional nature festivals.

heymammy · 27/12/2021 23:02

Honestly it's my favourite part of the Xmas holidays. My dm always gets me this family planner for the kitchen, I've been using this style for more than 10 years I'm sure and when they started including the acetate that you move from week to week I was in bloody heaven Grin

hilariousnamehere · 27/12/2021 23:26

@JanisMoplin I look a lot more organised than I am Grin (but you did make me smile, thank you!)

LittleRoundRobin · 27/12/2021 23:27

Not the most exciting thing of the year, but it's right up there! Grin I enjoy it too.
