to think that there's nothing more exciting in life than choosing a new diary/planner for the new year?

I don't think I spent this long choosing my childrens' pushchairs or even the family car!!

This is the weekly planner I use, except the academic year version smartpanda

I love the clear simple layout and font.

Can I have opinions on this one please?

I bought a beautiful expensive one for 2020 for it to be the year I got my professional shit together. Never opened it after late February with Covid sending it all to ratshit.

SmallGreenStripes · 26/12/2021 12:34

CleverFox for me this year, currently in bed with last year’s planner and the new one, leafing through and making plans for 2022Grin

DrierThanANunsNasty · 26/12/2021 12:38

Literally nothing better, I pick mine very carefully every Boxing Day (even though I generally get 1-2 for Christmas Blush)

This year I’ve gone for a basic page a day in cream and then a guided journal specifically for stress/burnout that I saw someone post about yesterday. My resolution is to get on top of feeling constantly overwhelmed and stressed.

magicstar1 · 26/12/2021 12:53

I got one from a new business and then got one for SIL and we love them. The planners are undated so start whenever you want, and have so many interesting extras.

I really like the Papier ones but they are only 16 weeks, is that right ?

NotSoNewAndShiny · 26/12/2021 13:14

YANBU! Nothing better than a new book (That was the highlight of my school years. All new and shiny books to read, pens, pencils and exercise books with beautiful blank pages to practice my scrambly writing on). Grin

Loved diaries too but don't use planners.

PeachCottonTree · 26/12/2021 13:18

I like Happy Planners as they are dis bound so I can take things in and out. DH got me new ones for Christmas with matching accessories to go with them 🥰 Boxclever Press have nice family planners and diaries too.

tartanbaker · 26/12/2021 13:20

Ooh I love my new diary too - I literally start refreshing their page from about August to see when they bring out the next year’s one!! Each diary covers 15 months, starting in October 💕💕 www.castelliitaly.com/tucson-weekly-notes-2022-diary.html

I’ve got a Boxclever press family life book, maybe this is the year I get organised! I looked at loads before finding the layout I liked, columns for 5 people, extra bits etc. Haven’t written in it yet - don’t want to ruin it!!

WinterWeather1 · 26/12/2021 13:28

I normally go for a personalised pirongs planner - www.uniqueplanners.co.uk/categories/lifestyle
But I think this year, I will revive my old Filofax.

The lovely paper and stationery aspect is a big part of it. I’ve tried calendar apps etc but never found one I can get on with that’s not a faff to use. I love having it on paper.

I use a mixture - I have a physical annual walk planner, monthly desk planner and to do list book, but also use Google calendar to time-block and Notion (sometimes for to-dos, but also kanban boards, etc). And I often use Google keep instead of the physical to do list nowadays as it's more portable and I can tick things off instantly.

I find that I much prefer using several systems and switching between them instead of trying to find the holy grail of organisational systems for me, which is what I did every year up until this past year - now I'm embracing the idea that I can chop and change between them, which has opened up my choice of stationery no end, as I don't feel the same pressure to find the one perfect planner that's completely aligned with everything I need it for (which, let's face it, would require a psychic planner designer as they don't know my life) and I can choose the ones that do some things as opposed to everything!

Any of you familiar with www.scribbleanddot.com/collections/diaries?

I really should get a planner, but I think I'd still struggle to be organised and get anything done. But might be a good idea since I am getting married next year.. I know I'm going to get to the week before and have nothing organised.

Papier diaries run from the end of November to New Years' week the year after so 56-57 weeks (or thereabouts?)

They also have extra pages for lists, special dates, monthly goals and so on. I have one every year Smile.

Deux · 26/12/2021 13:43

I love reading about what others use. I used a Filofax for years which I’ve kept and may start using again one day.

Just putting my favourite out there. It used to be called Septanote but now called Planning SD. By QuoVadis. I’m on my 6th year of these now but use the academic year one. You buy a separate cover for it. Mine is orange.

I also really like the weekly and monthly planner pads from the Lomond Paper Company

I got a lovely mokani from amazon, never had one before and I'm so excited!!

2reefsin30knots · 26/12/2021 14:54

@DazzlePaintedBattlePants

I have an Animal Crossing cover for my hobonichi arriving in January. Can’t wait!
Oh now I REALLY need a hobonichi and nowhere has them!

How did I not know this was a thing???

Which journal have you gone for Drier? I’m really interested in this as I constantly feel stressed at the moment.

I've opened all these links and am now going to browse for the next half hour!

DrierThanANunsNasty · 26/12/2021 16:34

@LilyGlobe this one is coming New Year’s Day www.amazon.co.uk/Anti-Burnout-Journal-multi-platform-wellness-self-care/dp/1446309150/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?crid=MUXGDI3QXQ2N&keywords=anti+burnout+journal&sprefix=anti+burno%2Caps%2C82&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1640536393&sr=8-1

Saw someone talking about getting it for Christmas and looked perfect for my incessant stress at the moment Sad

AllLopsided · 26/12/2021 16:51

DH always gets me one for Christmas but with strict instructions - I've been using Paperblanks for a few years. The patterns are lovely. Next year's is my favourite but I don't repeat patterns in consecutive years so I don't get them mixed up Grin

I kind of wish I'd had it in November though - I have a lot of medical appointments and they're all written into the very small planner section in the back of this year's diary... need a magnifying glass to decipher them!

I take my stationery very seriously and don't think I'll ever change to an electronic diary! Thinking of getting a notebook from the same maker as a journal...

to think that there's nothing more exciting in life than choosing a new diary/planner for the new year?
