To ask how you met your partner ?

I have a single friend who says she would like to meet someone nice, ( she's lovely, she deserves to), but all the men she meets online and / or on nights out make it plain they are just looking for sex.

I met my current boyfriend through a flatshare arrangement, ( it was a HMO). However, she is also a single parent to a two year old so wouldn't be able to meet a boyfriend in similar flat sharing circumstances to myself.

She can't meet anyone through work, ( she works in her aunty's buissiness, it is only her and her aunty there). She is also a single parent to a two year old so wouldn't be able to meet a boyfriend in similar flat sharing circumstances to myself.

So basically, how did you meet your partner ? I'm expecting there will be a lot of at work/ online/nights out but hopefully there may be something that will give idea's.

I went to school with my DH but he was a couple of years ahead of me, we were friends for a decade before we got together, but v happy now!

Two of my friends met their husbands at school and have been together for decades, and another two have been OLD (match and tinder!)

At the pub, a mutual friend introduced us. I met my ex (DC's dad) in the queue for a gig which is maybe a bit more unusual.

DB and DSIL met through online dating. She was only his second date on it. I did try it after splitting up with ex but didn't click with anyone enough to want to even meet them for a date so it's obviously just luck.

I've met most of my relationship partners in bars or at karaoke. Of the two that made it to marriage, one was set up by a mutual friend and the other was a chance meeting in a bookshop, when I commented on the book she was reading. I'm glad she wasn't a mumsnetter or I would have been dismissed as Random Comment Man.

At work in a new seating plan. Initially I thought he was a dickhead and was moaning that he would probably report me for my swearing and general dickheadishness. Married and have a baby now :)

Is there a local small business organisation or chamber of commerce type thing? I met my husband during the coffee break at an event held by one of these.

When he came in through my bedroom window in the middle of the night and landed on top and of me as I was sleeping in my bed beneath it almost 40 years ago.
