Yes I don't understand why she didn't go to prison as this is apparently her fifth conviction?

Her lawyer knew how to minimize her punishment - she went into therapy.

If the crime commited is linked to addiction, then it isn't that unusual for rehab to be a condition of a non custodial sentence. That's what has happened. I've seen it even in violent crime cases.

Oh she got off once again did she? It really is beyond a joke now. She will not stop until she kills herself or someone else and even then she will probably be treated with kids gloves because she can afford to show willing by booking into rehab for a few weeks. It’s disgusting.

I certainly think she should be banned from driving for life, as should all such motorists be. I don’t want to share the road with people like her. Next time she could kill someone.

I think it’s awful that she effectively bought her way out of a custodial sentence by being able to afford The Priory.

I sincerely hope she has learned her lesson and doesn’t reoffend.

For some reason it really annoyed me that they were all swigging a Costa on the way in to court. Could have used that £20 on the £8000 debt!

Ive always been a huge Katie fan, more so in her younger days but I do think they could have given her a couple of weeks at least, cause next time and there will be one she’ll end up killing someone

I’m guessing her children, especially Harvey, was taken into account with the sentencing?

It’s horrible. She was banned and still drove. What else can be done?

This is all very sadly true (although I didn't realise she has lost custody of all her children) but I don't think those are mitigating circumstances for non-celebrities who have a similar history of law breaking. Am happy to be corrected if I'm wrong.

Nobody else’s children are taken into account when sentencing are they? Unless things have changed. But famous kids yep.

When she was talking about adopting after baby number five I was throwing things at the TV. I mean, surely she couldn’t pull that off given the checks and balances in the UK? Unless she did a Madonna.

Completely agree. I have absolutely no doubt she will do it again she'll probably be back behind the wheel in a matter of days. I was so cross reading she had avoided a sentence and feel so heartbroken already for the inevitable person or people she will end up killing at some point as a result of being back behind the wheel.

She has an amazing bond with Harvey and nothing she does will ever make that untrue.

And yes. I do feel able to comment given my personal experience of having an adult son very much like him.
