I think she's terribly unwell. Prison might have helped her get her shit together.

That said, prisons are bursting at the seams due to a decade of underfunding. Judges need to reserve custodial sentences for the most heinous of crimes.*

It's plainly obvious you're some sort of fan and you've never been seen the impact of lives affected by a drunk, banned or drugged up driver.

Her children are ALREADY separated from her. The younger four all live with their fathers and she barely sees them. Junior has not been pictured in her company for at least a year. That in itself speaks volumes.

Community service, tagged. There's options.

Its the same for most drivers who break the rules, they leave court with a short ban from driving. Even when they kills someone in the uk they rarely get a prison sentence

killing someone with a car is not deemed as a serious enough crime. there are many many cases out their of different killings, some where they didn't wear their glasses and couldn't see the victim, to driving on the pavement and killing children.

I could link to many cases where relatives are left distraught at their loved ones death not ever seeing any justice, they just didn't realise it could happen

as a society we let this happen

look at the headline this week about closing the loop hole so over 5000 drivers would be taken off the roads as they have more than 12 points on their licence but continue to drive

You don't think she should be punished? She's already had so many chances, bans and disqualifications, and nothing has stopped her reckless behaviour. If going to jail puts a stop to her dangerous actions then it could save someone's life.

I don't keep up with Katie Price but it's interesting that she does not have custody of any of her children (other than Harvey but he is in residential care). When did that happen?

Her children may be devastated by her going to prison, but nowhere near as devastated as I was when I walked into a hospital and did not recognise my own parent because of the horrific injuries.

It's not a vendetta. The one thing I do hope is that she has learned her lesson, but the sentence sends a terrible message to other people who may drink drive.

Think how much she must drink drive and how badly she must drive to get done 9 times!? Unless she has a cop parked up outside her house.

I am not the one posting about how many children she has and which ones of them live with their father, or commenting on her parenting techniques - because I am not a fan and I don’t know these things. Clearly people commenting are more emotionally connected to this than I am because they know more things about her life than I do.

Its disgraceful that after all her bans she did this, a suspended sentance is a joke.
Harvey will be fine he is at a wonderful college. My dd went there and its an amazing place. LIke a fully supported university for disabled young people.

Her going to jail would not have separated her kids from their mother. Her actions have already caused her to be separated from her children. They spend the vast majority of their time with their fathers.

None of this has anything to do with Harvey. She is a habitual offender who continually flouts the law with her reckless behaviour and puts countless others at risk. She should have gone to prison.

Whinge thanks - it was a very long time ago but I would never want another family to go through what we did and the sentencing sends a terrible message. I just hope we don't see her all over tv and the media talking about her 'ordeal'. She needs to disappear for a bit.

It is more that she gets special treatment because she is a celebrity

• she has multiple previous convictions and bans
• she was on a ban and had no insurance when she overturned the car - so a risk to others
• she decided to drive a car despite being double the drink limit having taken cocaine
• none of her children live with her

If she was an ordinary person she would have been jailed for these crimes. But because she is a celebrity and can afford a few days in the Priory despite being legally bankrupt (but went straight to Las Vegas for a holiday after her "treatment") she gets a slap on the wrist

But it's all OK coz she said "sorry"

Well, she is no longer really a celebrity, except in her own mind.

You do know how many times she has been disqualified from driving, how many times she has been caught speeding, driving whilst drunk/drugged and whilst disqualified don't you?

You excuse nine driving convictions one including crashing into another car just because she is Katie Price and you like her?

KP should have gone to prison before now and she should definitely be there now, she clearly isn't learning the error of her ways, nor does she seem to either want to nor care about anyone other than herself to do so.

My first post clearly indicated what I thought about Katie getting off with her latest offence and I felt absolutely no need to expand on it. If people want to assume her having a really good bond with Harvey is all that matters to me then so be it.

Why did you feel the need to make 4 posts talking only of her supposed bond with Harvey then? Posting more or less the same comment repeatedly like it's some sort of mic drop in response to her being convicted of a crime does make it sound like it's all that matters to you, like you are minimising what she has done and that's is a-ok because at least she has an amazing bond with her son.

YANBU I am shocked she isn't in jail. Anyone else would be.
