To think Jeremy Clarkson needs a smacked bottom

He’s online whingeing that Greta needs a smacked bottom; probably as she is a young woman who has a different viewpoint from him, and isn’t afraid of being loud about it.

Aibu to think that he is the one who needs a smacked bottom instead

Ewwwwww, that's a horribly unpleasant image. I hate that bloke. I hate him even more since we had dream sex once and it was revolting.

Mamette · 09/11/2021 20:55

He has a face like one anyway.

GertrudeBElion · 09/11/2021 20:56

The great thing about Greta Thunberg is how she manages to really piss off swathes of middle aged white men.

TracyLords · 09/11/2021 21:03

@GertrudeBElion. She really does, doesn’t she? It as though they are raging that she doesn’t know her place (ie be a good wee girl and keep men happy)

Eleganz · 09/11/2021 21:09

The great thing about Greta is she knows how much she pisses of reactionary old white men and how anything they say against her just looks weird and creepy and further undermines them. She just trolls them all mercilessly.

Clarkson had fallen into this classic trap because he'd not actually that bright, just a loud mouth gobshite with shitty opinions. His entire career has been largely propped up by two other people who are far more talented than him.

Eleganz · 09/11/2021 21:10

Oh and he needs a punch in the face, given he can dish them out...

Gross. And he wouldn’t have said that about a male climate activist, obviously.

Ironic. You’re obviously not bright enough to read anything about Clarkson, his education, his career and his views on the environment before spouting this opinion.

What? The fact that he was privately educated at Repton.

That he has made a range of well known racist comments and just loads of casual mysogyny throughout his time on Top Gear? His creepy comments about Greta are exactly in character.

Why on earth would I care about what this man thinks about the environment?

Chasingaftermidnight · 09/11/2021 21:30

He was a committed climate change denier until he made some trip to Asia for filming and saw the effects of it firsthand, wasn’t he?

I can’t say that fills me with respect for his intellect.

Mum2jenny · 09/11/2021 21:32

I like Jeremy and fully agree that Greta is a spoilt brat, and if she’d been disciplined years ago, she’d be a better person.

It’s all about the ‘media’ and her profile. I absolutely loathe her and she’s really put me off agreeing with any of the climate change objectives.

So you are put off dealing with one of the most significant existential threats to face humanity because one young woman who is campaigning for action on it is, in your opinion, "a spoilt brat"?

I may be wrong here but I suspect you never really cared in the first place.

Welshiefluff · 09/11/2021 21:36

Writing both racist and ageist comments in the space of a line and a half. You must be awesome.

Sarcasm.

Theyellowflamingo · 09/11/2021 21:37

Can’t stand either of them - both obnoxious and annoying, just in very different ways.

Mum2jenny · 09/11/2021 21:38

eleganz you may be right, but Greta is not helping the cause as far as I’m concerned. I do turn off as soon as her name is mentioned, which is probably wrong, but it is what it is.

Yayaga · 09/11/2021 21:38

They both trigger me

Whereas Jezza is okay in being all about his brand and his image insulting women and minorities and telling young women online that they deserve "smacked bottoms".

Okay then... Hmm

Perhaps have a think about that.

Mum2jenny · 09/11/2021 21:45

eleganz I like Jeremy but will not look at any news items which reference Greta. She is her own worst enemy. Jeremy is Jeremy, whilst I don’t always agree with him, I do think if Greta had been disciplined earlier, she may be a better person today.

What is it she says that so upsets you.

All I see is her calling out politicians of the generations before hers for their failure to take the action needed to mitigate climate change. She is absolutely right to do so, because it is true.

Mum2jenny · 09/11/2021 21:53

eleganz you and I are not going to agree on this. I think Greta is a smug individual talking a lot of nonsense with a few bits of relevant info included. I despise her and her views, and I will leave this discussion before the moderators ban me for my real opinions on Greta.

secretbookcase · 09/11/2021 21:54

@GertrudeBElion

The great thing about Greta Thunberg is how she manages to really piss off swathes of middle aged white men.
The even greater thing about her is she doesn't give a toss what people like Clarkson think. He is irrelevant to her.
eddiemairswife · 09/11/2021 21:54

Jeremy Clarkson has made 2 very good TV programmes unrelated to cars; Brunel in the Greatest Britons series, and the history of the VC.

00100001 · 09/11/2021 21:58

What is Greta a bad person? Have I missed something? Confused

Chasingaftermidnight · 09/11/2021 22:03

So, a man is permitted to build his career on making racist and sexist remarks for no reason and a young woman should be ‘disciplined’ for not being sufficiently nice about the biggest threat facing humanity.

Also, you are aware Greta is autistic?

No idea.

I mean it's not like she has said racist things or punched someone..........
