Am I being unreasonable to think that it is really no one elses business who Boris Johnson and his family spent Christmas with.
So maybe he did break the rules, but he had been working so hard and the rules kept changing, it is hardly unreasonable that he had some time with friends to relax is it?

Hello Carrie

Working hard - ha ha, only halfwit Daily Fail readers would fall for that one.

I think technically he didn't though? Childcare bubbles were definitely allowed at the time.

You are probably right.
Why are the press whipping up a story about it then, when there is no story?
Prime Ministers wife has friend round to help with childcare, so what?

Apparently something to do with child care bubble. Did he have a different bubble for each child. It would have needed a coach to deliver all those people to Downing Street on Christmas Day

I was genuinely working hard and yes the rules kept changing, but I stuck to them.
He is like lots of rich people who think rules are only for plebs, not people like him.

And here is the problem with this country currently.

How on earth can anyone with any moral congas defend the actions of this man, but they do, because good old Boris is such a "buffoon", instead of he's incompetent and he is just a "loveable rouge" instead of he's a liar and and cheat.

Boris Johnson has spent his life perfecting how he is perceived, playing to the crowd to win votes and I am really angry and at the point of feeling lost hope, because people actually fall for it.

@jgw1 you know he's wrong, you know he's a liar, you know he's a cheat but yet here you are "defending him".....shocking....really really a disgrace.

Are you for real?
My mum had just died and I spent Christmas on my own because we followed the rules as set by Boris, the least he could do was follow his own bloody rules!

He had a nanny, his mother in law had move in, and it was Christmas Day so he (well definitely his wife) wasn’t working.

Total lying, duplicitous shit. As per usual.

he maybe wont even have been able to spend the whole day with his young family due to the amount of work he has to do,

You mean like a lot of people who work Christmas? I know several people who were doing 12+ hour shifts that day, some with young children, pretty much all of them with family.

I actually don't care much about what he did and it does feel like the media is over-inflating this to cover for more important things, but the idea of giving the guy a pity party - someone who who was involved in making the rules but somehow couldn't keep up, that he had a particularly hard day compared to others who were expected to follow the rules, and that he is actually has done much to enforce when those under him have broken the rules -- that's laughably unreasonable. Dude just needs to take his very delayed lumps, media will pass onto something else soon enough.

Because he is an utter cunt. He has let down and fucked over the majority of the population again and again and again and literally gets away woth murder. I’m glad the press hold him to account otherwise people like you would just cover for him. Everybody has the right to know the depth of corruption in the government he is the front man of.

To be honest, I cannot get incensed by this, which was probably your intention. As long as everything within the legal boundaries, I don't have an issue with it. And I am as far from a Johnson fan as possible.
It was clearly widely known at that time - it is not like you can smuggle a friend into the Prime Ministers residence with no-one noticing, but obviously someone had decided to save the story until now, when most people already forgot what the exact rules were. And I am personally sick of media manipulations over the last few years - in any direction, I must say.

I know you don't like our esteemed Prime Minister, but to say he has a nanny is daft.

I am sure that if there is any evidence of rule breaking, then the Prime Minister will deal quickly and decisively with it as he did in making Dominic Cummings humilate himself in the garden and in sacking Matt Hancock so promptly when his indiscretions came to light.

Step away from the keyboard, Carrie...
