Insulate Britain racist?

Tealightsandd · 08/10/2021 17:31

They're attacking London only (to an extent the wider south east but the assault is focused on London).

Their actions are hurting the most diverse city in the UK.

They didn't take their 'protest' to the power. Not a peep from them outside the Conservative Party conference in Manchester (yes, I know relatively diverse city but not so much as London). Nor anything in Brighton when Labour had their conference.

They are solely concerned with attacking the city where around 40% of the population come from abroad - including many vulnerable migrants.

I think it's a stretch to call them racist based on that demographic. You only have to look at the ethnic minority populations in places such as Birmingham, Blackburn, Manchester, Bradford. They are targeting the London area because it will cause the maximum disruption and probably where they are local to.

So no probably not racist. Selfish, thoughtless idiots certainly but not racist.

maybe soon they will superglue themselves to a road where the only way to get them away is to chop their sodding hands off

Saucery · 08/10/2021 17:35

I think they are just equal opp ignorant fucks.

Cadent · 08/10/2021 17:35

Whilst I think racism is a huge problem in the UK, no, I don’t think IB are attracting London because of its diversity.

CorrBlimeyGG · 08/10/2021 17:36

That's got to be the most bizarre reasoning I've ever heard.

Pythonista · 08/10/2021 17:36

Surely it's because it's the biggest city and the capital? They are cunts but it is a bit of a stretch

TheAverageUser · 08/10/2021 17:37

No I think that's a stretch.

Yespresh · 08/10/2021 17:37

OMG that’s hilarious. You must be a journo OP

minionsrule · 08/10/2021 17:38

Lol clutch that straw a bit tighter Confused

JesusIsAnyNameFree · 08/10/2021 17:38

Haha, this is nuts 😂 cheers for the laugh, OP.

EvilPea · 08/10/2021 17:39

So they've picked on a place they can easily cause massive disruption, it also happens to be the place where the government sit.
Extinction rebellion have a big south east presence, due to Heathrow and HS2, they formed as a splinter group from that

and you think its racism?????

Tealightsandd · 08/10/2021 17:39

They're a bunch of middle class privileged white people causing disruption and distress to a very diverse city. London is the most ethically diverse in the UK.

That's just... You ok? That's really some leap

Tealightsandd · 08/10/2021 17:42

They are targeting the London area because it will cause the maximum disruption and probably where they are local to.

Maximums disruption to who? Not those with power. Most government ministers and CEOs don't live in London. Part-time during the week, maybe, but back to the shires after work.

If they wanted to speak to those with power, why weren't they 'protesting' at the party conferences?

And no, most of them aren't local to London. One or two, yes, but not the others.

I don't think the link was necessary, sweetheart.

Tealightsandd · 08/10/2021 17:46

It's important to look at who are the people harmed by their actions.

OP posts:
sst1234 · 08/10/2021 17:47

Probably too much like hard work for them to leave London. I mean how would they get around without all the (emissions based) public transport, or where would they have nice expensive coffees and trendy dinners. Where else could they go out to get entertainment like in London. Come on, won’t someone think about the lifestyles of the ‘activists’. Surely you can’t rob from them what they want to take from you.

Tealightsandd · 08/10/2021 17:47

They don't care about their 'cause'. They completely ignored the recent major party conferences.

OP posts:
Tealightsandd · 08/10/2021 17:49

They don't come from London (except a few). They come from all over including the South West of the UK, Scarborough and Manchester. Look them up.

OP posts:
ButterflyAway · 08/10/2021 17:50

Oh ffs

Tal45 · 08/10/2021 17:52

Wow you know there is real racism going on out there in the UK right? What you're doing is just adding two and two together and come up with 15 and you really don't need to because making these things up really isn't helpful to anyone.

Tealightsandd · 08/10/2021 17:54

You can't pick and choose racism. Their actions - where they attack, and who it most harms - speak volumes.

OP posts:
AwaAnBileYerHeid · 08/10/2021 17:55

Reaching much?

ReeseWitherfork · 08/10/2021 17:56

If they were racist, and their disruption decisions were racially fuelled, why wouldn't they be telling us that?

JesusIsAnyNameFree · 08/10/2021 17:57

Nah. It really doesn't.

Erm I'm pretty sure I'm unable to explain the reasoning or actions behind what they are doing!
