Be in no doubt, when society removes the words we use to define ourselves they remove the means for us to gather, to push back, to protect ourselves, to fight for our rights, to roar. It’s slow and almost imperceptible and then, BOOM…you have the likes of Ed Davey proclaiming on prime time radio that we can’t exclude men.

4 days ago they happily used the word men in an article about prostate cancer. Misogyny at its finest. Why not 'penis haver' to even things up? Apparently the content of the article isn't consistent and refers to menstruators / women / girls / bodies with vaginas .... what a joke.

Utterly disgusted by this. I honestly despair, the worst is that openly I can't refuse to wheesht due to my job, but that just makes me more furious frankly. I feel a burning sense of rage every time some organisation or institution dehumanises us like this

Bodies with vaginas is not just incredibly dehumanising but also extremely close to some of the words men use for us.

Bodies. Implies. No consciousness, dead, inanimate etc as well. Fucks sake

I’ve reported it as directing hate against a group of people. I think that’s perfectly reasonable, I would rightly be given a warning at my work if I referred to women as bodies with vaginas.

We are women! It is just awful.

Wouldn't it be amazing if there was another word that coild be used for the subset of the population with vaginas...
