To ask what to do if anything about neighbours loud shagging?

Lived here a couple of months. Amazing house semi-detached. Next door has 3 young kids.

Over the last week, NDNs have been having such noisy sex that the wardrobes in the bedroom are shaking. She’s a screamer, and she then wakes her own baby which starts screaming too! Last night, they shagged and screamed til the baby woke up, got it back to sleep, then shagged and sleep til it woke up screaming again!

We are tired! And work FT.

Having had noisy neighbours in the past I’d hoped for a fresh start here. Am tempted to put a note through the letterbox but DH says no 😆

AIBU to ask what (if anything) to do?!

YANBU - pop a note through
YABU - here’s a better idea…

I had this problem a few years ago (upstairs neighbour to the right in a block of flats). I took to leaning out of the window and throwing coppers (coins, not policemen obvs) at their window and screaming “shut the fuck up”. A tad extreme perhaps, but it worked

lynntheyresexpeople · 15/09/2021 23:12

Start screaming sex noises back through the wall, make it a contest.

plodalong12 · 15/09/2021 23:12

“Dear Neighbours, please stop having sex in your own house, signed, No. 43”

I’m not sure that would go down too well.

And I’m not sure either that your wardrobes are shaking from people screaming from the other side of the wall Hmm

trulyconfuseddotcom · 15/09/2021 23:13

I wrote a polite anonymous note, after months of loud sex noises from the adjacent flat. Never heard them again!

RicherThanYew · 15/09/2021 23:13

Could you post leaflets for companies that do soundproofing?

ShinyThingsDistractMe · 15/09/2021 23:13

Oh gosh no don't post a note. Maybe they don't know how loud they are, that next door can hear.

Posting a note just seems cringy. I'd never be able to make eye contact with them again.

Can you bang on the wall, once might do, they may then realise you can hear them 🤷🏻‍♀️

LittleOwl153 · 15/09/2021 23:14

Cheer them on? Obviously loud enough so they hear and are hopefully embarrassed?

Or some loud music on speakers turned to the wall at the right point... maybe we can suggest some tracks?

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 15/09/2021 23:14

Shag even louder?! Grin

DinkyDiggies · 15/09/2021 23:15

I had an apartment under some noisy neighbours and took to banging on the ceiling with a mop handle while shouting ‘shut up shaggers’.

Oooh cheering on could be good!!

They know they can be heard, who actually needs to really scream during sex. Poor kids. The need for such performance fucking (I can only assume she's faking) with complete disregard for their own child's sleep is weird.

Wait til they're finished and applaud loudly, shouting "encore"?

Amazingly, as well as screaming, they’re MOVING whilst having sex which makes their bed bang against the wall that the fitted wardrobe is against. This makes the doors shake and rattle. I’m not gonna record it to prove it but Jesus Christ use some common sense 😆

A round of very loud applause afterwards?

XenoBitch · 15/09/2021 23:17

When they are done, shout out a rating out of 10.

eew1988 · 15/09/2021 23:18

Shout “she’s faking it” once it’s ended! Worked for me and my old neighbours…..though the man moved out a few weeks later 🤭

Scbchl · 15/09/2021 23:18

Iv had to deal with this, I went to her door and said this is a really awkward convo to have so I apologise but is there any chance you can move your bed off the wall that backs on to ours. You are waking the girls up everynight with it banging off it and the accompanying noise, so sorry to have to bring it up.

She went red and apologised, must of moved her bed and toned down the amateur theatrics. Then moved less than a year later 🙈

Once at the weekend, twice last night and again tonight! There was nothing the first few weeks apart from the kids being a bit noisy, so maybe it’s a new feller
OP posts:
ShaggerDoDoDo · 15/09/2021 23:25

If it’s a new feller we’re doomed… tho he may get scared off by the screaming baby

My husband was the one who said if I didn't go he'd go and that would embarass her more. She lived there with her wee girl and did for about three years then got a new boyfriend and that's when it started. We put up with it for couple of months but the kids were being woken every hight then we were as a result and my god he has some stamina they were at it for over an hour some nights. We did use to laugh at the things they shouted at each other though, one night he shouted "on you go son" to himself 🤣
