AIBU to be asked to reframe my trauma by the trans CEO of Scottish Rape Crisis?

The CEO of Edinburgh Rape Crisis has said "Sexual violence happens to bigoted people too. But if you bring beliefs that are discriminatory, expect to be challenged on your prejudice. Reframe your trauma"

Apparently, survivors are to be "educated" in this service.

Tonight is a really tough one. Women who have been raped or sexually assaulted need females to listen to them. Rape Crisis was that service and used to offer trauma based therapy.

I don't need educating - I know that detailing my experience to a man, or a transwomen is NEVER something I will do.

This is too much.

In order to ensure that people (especially women) aren't alerted to the current scandalous goings on in social and political life.

It was the same when all the brutalisation of women and children was happening in Ireland. Society unquestioningly allowing actions leading to the broken lives of women and children. Interestingly, Birth Certs falsified there too.

You couldn't say anything about the male run ideological capture then either. Even if those running things identified as decent and spiritual. That was the big identity power then which let all those things happen.

Those invested or involved wouldn't want exposure and I imagine are trying to shut everyone down.

I was so upset I didn't think to switch voting on. I wish I had.

Glad it's staying in AIBU - no reason it needs to be shunted off out of sight. The more women who see this, the better.

You would have been very high 90s %age wise if you had, so hopefully that gives you some reassurance and support.

I'd quite like it to stay here even if it does turn into Swiss cheese. It'd be good for people unfamiliar with it to see just how much women's voices are deleted on this issue.

Thank goodness this is back in aibu. ALL women need to understand where we are headed. Things are worse in Scotland currently and the snp are heading into even worse territory so we need as many people aware of this as possible.
It’s not just going to affect/already impacting rape crisis centres. It’s hospitals, prisons, personal care for vulnerable women living in their own homes. We need to be able to specify sex in certain circumstances such as those listed or so many women and children will be disadvantaged/ made to feel uncomfortable / feel threatened / harmed.

MN deleted my earlier post too- I didn't misgender- I just said fuck a lot, I'm fucking angry. I said that lib fems are not feminist and that women who agree that rape victims should 'reframe their trauma' are complicit in women's rights being destroyed.

It is not transphobic for a rape victim to reject a transwoman as a therapist. They are not being rejected because they're trans, they're being rejected because they're male.

Exactly. People are being disingenuous in saying women are rejecting people because they are trans. Wroxie was a good example of this.
