Someone has parked over my H bar and blocked my car in ...

Earlier this year, I had an H bar painted across my dropped kerb because people kept parking over the edge of the dropped bit, meaning I couldn't get in or out of my drive (the drive is narrow and at an angle on a very narrow street with cars parked opposite).

So far, it's pretty much done the trick. But today I went out for an hour and came back and someone has parked a good foot or so over the end of it, meaning that I can't get my car off the driveway. Unfortunately for them, I was not using the vehicle which was (and still is) parked on the drive, but another one. :)

So I've parked across the rest of my H bar. There's now enough room between my front bumper and their rear one to get a matchbox in. There's about a foot between them and the car parked in front of them.

Today is my last day at work for 2 weeks. Do you think I should have an early glass of wine to celebrate? Grin

Ooo…love a good parking thread! Placeholder set Grin

On balance the excellence of the parking diagram puts me on the side of the OP.

Waspsarearseholes · 23/07/2021 16:58

Fab diagram and crack open the wine with haste. Definitely take a picture - I always do when I have to park next to someone who's parked too near/on/over the line in car parks, just in case of any damage. Enjoy!

Sparklingbrook · 23/07/2021 16:58

I am not sure that people that park like this are ‘wankers’ or ‘cunts’ really. Most likely just a bit thick.

crosstalk · 23/07/2021 16:59

To the PP questioning OP re why she could park second car but not get hers out - parallel parking in a narrow road with cars both sides is easier than turning ninety degrees out of parking down same narrow road with 30 per cent of your turning space reduced.

azimuth299 · 23/07/2021 17:00

@peridito

Really id just like people not to park like cunts

Someone parking a foot over your dropped access is your definition of a cunt ?

We're obviously in different worlds . Fortunately .

It is cuntish behaviour though, to park over someone's drive and block them in. They don't know she has another car - what if she needed to go to work or there was an accident and she had to go to hospital?
WiddlinDiddlin · 23/07/2021 17:00

Excellent diagram. I had no doubt in my mind that you are the innocent party and that the wanker parker is indeed a wanker parker, but the diagram and quality of it seals the deal in my mind.

Here for the further details when wankerparker reappears!

Pingued · 23/07/2021 17:00

Are you allowed to block your own H bar? Just worried in case someone reports you and you get a ticket!

CherieBabySpliffUp · 23/07/2021 17:00

Parking my 🚗 here while I wait for updates.

Because it's very selfish to park blocking someone else's drive
Onlinedilema · 23/07/2021 17:01

Just came on to say excellent diagram op.

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 23/07/2021 17:03

I want an H bar. Every fucker parks over our drive (dropped kerb). Can I paint it on myself?!

They are thick wankers and cunts then.

Of course it is. That’s not in doubt but if the driver is too thick to realise that’s what they’ve done…

Sparklingbrook · 23/07/2021 17:05

They probably have no clue what an H bar is. 🤷‍♀️

PuffItsGone · 23/07/2021 17:05

Love a parking thread

BarbaraPapa · 23/07/2021 17:05

Someone who parks over a drive where there's a car is a cunt because even as they're exiting their vehicle, they can see they're causing a potential problem for someone - not hypothetically, visibly - yet they shrug and carry on regardless.

nocturnalcatfreetogoodhome · 23/07/2021 17:05

Put on your best Spanish accent and say ‘mi no hablas ingles’ and slowly shut the door.

Bargebill19 · 23/07/2021 17:05

Good end to a hot week. (Also parking arse in to 🥃)

That's the cutest parking diagram I've ever seen!

Kokosrieksts · 23/07/2021 17:06

Lovely diagram. I’m on your side OP. I hope your neighbor doesn’t move their car.

AwaAnBileYerHeid · 23/07/2021 17:06

Yesssss! And when they come chapping at your door, simply inform them that sorry, you've been drinking so can't move the car. A holes! Keep us updated 😁

I think you are optimistic assuming some rubbish drivers/parkers notice stuff when exiting their vehicle TBH.
Merryoldgoat · 23/07/2021 17:08

I have no plans to go out. However I have had to dash my child to hospital three times in the past 3 months.

You don’t park across dropped kerbs - it’s simple.
