Someone has parked over my H bar and blocked my car in ...

Earlier this year, I had an H bar painted across my dropped kerb because people kept parking over the edge of the dropped bit, meaning I couldn't get in or out of my drive (the drive is narrow and at an angle on a very narrow street with cars parked opposite).

So far, it's pretty much done the trick. But today I went out for an hour and came back and someone has parked a good foot or so over the end of it, meaning that I can't get my car off the driveway. Unfortunately for them, I was not using the vehicle which was (and still is) parked on the drive, but another one. :)

So I've parked across the rest of my H bar. There's now enough room between my front bumper and their rear one to get a matchbox in. There's about a foot between them and the car parked in front of them.

Today is my last day at work for 2 weeks. Do you think I should have an early glass of wine to celebrate?

Sounds like a good reason to get in touch with your council, they will be to advise.

Don't need a diagram, understand completely, yet still bitterly disappointed.

Our council do them as part of the dropped kerb application
If they wear off, I presume you contact the highway dept and ask them to repaint it, as they would if any other road marking needed re-doing?

I can picture it exactly.

A diagram would make this so much better.

Trouble is a foot in front is enough for them to get out. Do you know who the car In front of them is so you can ask them to get in a bit closer?

If or when the car in front moves, they'll have no problem leaving.

Because we luffs diagrams? Is this not ENOUGH of a reason?

They'll be able to get out with a bit of manoeuvring thought if they have a foot in front won't they?
Can you find the owner of the car in front and ask them to reverse a bit?

@MotionActivatedDog I can see that if it was a hugely complicated scenario then it would be very useful.

Surely it’s more likely that she’s parked the back half of the car over the driveway and the front half of the car is in front of a hedge or other boundary?
