Someone has parked over my H bar and blocked my car in ...

Earlier this year, I had an H bar painted across my dropped kerb because people kept parking over the edge of the dropped bit, meaning I couldn't get in or out of my drive (the drive is narrow and at an angle on a very narrow street with cars parked opposite).

So far, it's pretty much done the trick. But today I went out for an hour and came back and someone has parked a good foot or so over the end of it, meaning that I can't get my car off the driveway. Unfortunately for them, I was not using the vehicle which was (and still is) parked on the drive, but another one. :)

So I've parked across the rest of my H bar. There's now enough room between my front bumper and their rear one to get a matchbox in. There's about a foot between them and the car parked in front of them.

Today is my last day at work for 2 weeks. Do you think I should have an early glass of wine to celebrate?

Obviously in the minority here .Just ignore it .Better yet can you move your car a little so that it's easier for them to drive away .

You say that the marking has mainly done the trick so why go out of your way to make someone else's life difficult ?

I presume you've made a one off payment to have the kerb dropped and the marking carried out .I return part of the public highway becomes an area that you want to keep free just for you 100% of the time .Not a bad deal .

Be the bigger person and forget this minor infringement .

Why is it always the wronged party that has to be the bigger person? The person blocking part of OPs drive knows they're completely in the wrong parking there and do not give a fuck, so why should OP make their lives any better? She wouldn't even be able to move the car off her drive if she needed to, ffs.

If I were you OP I’d be out there with my deckchair, blanket, bobble hat and thermos of cocoa - I’d plonk myself on the road right behind his car and he’d have to run me over before I moved for the fucker.

Now...to really see it through you could have moved your car that's across your drive into the space in front of the wankers. Then reverse your drive car put enough to block the back.....checkmate!

@WatfordGap you say they have parked a foot over the H-bar, but have they actually encroached on the dropped curb? And I mean the section of pavement that has been lowered to meet the level of the carriageway, not the slanty bit (it's just there as a necessity but isn't part of the dropped section).
The H-bar is just to highlight the presence of the dropped curb but means nothing in itself.
Also what way round is your car parked on your driveway? If you are reversing out then yes it will be more difficult with tightly parked cars but you shouldn't be reversing out into a road.
