… to ask why Giles Coren hasn’t been cancelled yet?

The vile Dawn Foster tweets ffs. But he seems Teflon coated. He will never be cancelled. Three fucking columns a week … a pissing radio show, albeit on Times Radio, which surely no one listens to. I would love to be proved wrong. Absolutely love to be.

Does IK actually do beauty reviews? Not sure why but I think of her beauty columns as: Product + Big cheque = Glowing review by IK.
That’s exactly what they are. I’m not sure if she gets paid by cosmetic companies but I’d put money on her not having paid for any skincare, cosmetics or hair products for years. She probably gets free hairdos at Hershesons too, she’s always plugging them

Giles Corey's father was an amusing and influential columnist with a long reach in the media world. Thus we are in receipt of Victoria, who seems OK, and the lovely Giles. Who should have been stood in the corner more often when a child. Talentless, arrogant, spoilt and over-indulged.

Haven't RTFT but had a little chuckle at this. If he was made of chocolate he'd eat himself. Imagine David Mitchell in character as Mark at a family dinner with his BIL.

Is it vandalism if someone writes on your exterior garden wall? Yes terribly traumatizing, poor GC. What if Banksy did it? Would that be not vandalism but an acute and very valuable observation of a particular situation? Depends how much you can get for it, I suppose.

His restaurant reviews are fine. He’s no AA Gill, but they are perfectly adequate, although he bangs on about his Land Rover Defender, his country house and his children being at private prep schools as nauseam. I don’t like it how he brandishes his education and privilege in order to sneer at those less fortune than him, like Dawn Foster, who he saw fit to laugh at even though she had recently died. It’s not really a surprise that he’s a complete arsehole, but I didn’t think he was such a moron.

Yikes! Horrible stuff. It seems he has form. It irks me so much that Giles Coren is pratting around in Iceland filming Amazing Hotels at the license payers’ expense at the moment while trolling a dead woman and exacerbating her mother’s grief.

Thank you MissLucy for posting that link, couldn't bear to read it all. Taking on Michael White? Coren is a semi-literate minnow with the vocabulary of a sex-starved lurker and an intellect to match. What a contemptible creature he's happy to reveal himself as. If this is what he serves up for public consumption then let's hope he keeps the bloody door closed on the rest of it. Good grief.
