The vile Dawn Foster tweets ffs. But he seems Teflon coated. He will never be cancelled. Three fucking columns a week … a pissing radio show, albeit on Times Radio, which surely no one listens to. I would love to be proved wrong. Absolutely love to be.

The general media silence on this, similarly with IK, is so depressing. When you know that Guardian writers Hadley Freeman and Sali Hughes haven't tweeted about it, that says a hell of a lot about GC's power. DF used to write for the Guardian.

On the whole journalism is shit and getting worse, possibly because of the nepotism as people have pointed out. It is very one sided and largely based on opinion, not fact, but when facts are presented, they seem to change from day to day based on the political orientation of the writer. Huge stories globally aren't even reported on - you have to literally fish for them to know what is going on in the world. It's just about creating certain emotional responses in people, massaging the writers ego or pedalling an agenda. It's just an extension of Twitter.

Everything, anyone writes should be taken with a pinch of salt and maintain a healthy dose of scepticism

I do try to, but it crap to not be able to read something with constant nagging doubt. Not everyone is sceptical though and put a lot of trust in what they read, or find it is too overwhelming and find the only way to deal with it is a news blackout. I think that's a shame. I just end up shrugging and getting on with things most of the time. It's all a bit of a pantomime to me.

I liked Alan Coren. He was a terrific writer and an amusing and interesting man. Giles Coren doesn't have anything like the same talent and those tweets were disgusting.

If you've had a famous parent that's excelled in a particular field don't follow them into it. Not just Giles here but I'm thinking Paul McCartney - James McCartney. Your dad's a Beatle, there will never be a single thing written about your music career that does not reference your dad. Some shadows are too big.

His house has been vandalised, he's away filming so it's his wife and kids at home. Some of Owen Jones's fans had previously turned up at his house to threaten him, again he was out so it was his wife and kids. This is just a horrible situation.

India Knight is not responsible for her husband’s behaviour. I think she’s a bit of a boring columnist, and that it’s all a bit icky and unseemly, but ultimately it’s not her responsibility, unless she were using her column to defend him.

No but she's written columns about things like smacking children which is a little near the knuckle for me. Her beauty columns are fine.

I had this discussion with my husband and he said he'd think it was very unfair for him to get sacked for something bad I had done. That is true. But for me the difference is that IK has condoned what her DH did, and she's also freelance, not employed, so it would be easy enough to say her conduct has brought the Times into disrepute.

though she's not always had a rosy financial garden. In the book she wrote about being thrifty during the 2008 financial crisis she talked about how she couldn't handle money very well and had been bankrupt. I remember wondering how someone from such a privileged background could be so irresponsible with money. It actually really annoys me when rich people go bankrupt, it's offensive to people with far less who manage to live within their means. But i digress!

No. I’m not saying all tall men are “lovely kind calm beings who never do anything wrong”. I’m saying that personally I’m only attracted to tall men. This is purely my preference and opinion. I bear short men no ill will. And also GC’s small dick energy has absolutely no correlation to his height.
