Did anyone else's school used to play this song at their school disco? I was 9 when this came out and remember dancing it to with everyone else, complete with hip thrusting actions Confused Hmm

I randomly remembered this and mentioned it to a friend yesterday (same age, different school) who was shocked and questioned what kind of effed-up school I went to. Did I!? Or was this an often played song at yours too!?

No

In other more recent faux pas... my kids' infant sports day (they've moved schools since then) they tended to have a really loud PA out on the field (the head fancied herself as the local village's answer to Motty or something commentating) and before it started they had it hooked up to someone's car radio playing music, very loudly (you could hear it clearly word for word streets and streets away).

I WANNA GET SEXUUUUAALLL

I was dying trying not to laugh and one of the more huffy and straight laced mums was about fit to keel over on the spot.

I just remembered the very lovely "shag band" craze from the 90s as well.
Shocking really, for 10 year olds to be talking about "if you snap the (insert colour) one you have to )

Don't recall that one from the 90s (I'm not in the UK) but the tune sounds like a clone of Ace of Base and they were certainly popular disco fodder Grin

No I don’t think so, but then I’m so dim I didn’t even clock 2 become 1 by the spice girls until a poster up top just mentioned it!!!

Olinguita · 03/07/2021 19:23

Yes. Even played at the school disco of my incredibly conservative Catholic school.

LadyMcBee · 03/07/2021 19:27

Yes...and I remember singing "I'm horny, horny, horny, horny, so horny" in the street and my Mum telling me not to sing that song, I was 10 and no idea what it meant 😅

Bumblenums1234 · 03/07/2021 20:44

Yep every disco in the late 90s played this song!

Pinot4evs · 03/07/2021 20:50

Yep and I remember the dance routine too Blush closely followed in the cringe factor with ‘my neck, my back’ there was another awful one about Amal but I seem to have blocked that out 😂😂😂

Malibukev · 03/07/2021 20:52

Yes, remember that one and outhere brothers! Prepared us for Eminem not long later 🤣

Oh yes! So many of these songs bring back memories (I started primary in 1989).

Classics! Definitely remember my leavers disco in Y6 hearing Boom Boom Boom and it being the non child friendly version and it being turned swiftly off!! Grin
