Did anyone else's school used to play this song at their school disco? I was 9 when this came out and remember dancing it to with everyone else, complete with hip thrusting actions Confused Hmm

I randomly remembered this and mentioned it to a friend yesterday (same age, different school) who was shocked and questioned what kind of effed-up school I went to. Did I!? Or was this an often played song at yours too!?

Am I the only one wondering WTF Gollum is doing in that video?

FlyingBattie · 03/07/2021 00:19

Does anyone remember "I wanna sex you up?"
I don't remember it playing at discos but I do remember singing it at a family party....

GlamourSpider · 03/07/2021 00:20

Yep. Standard.

Ozberry · 03/07/2021 00:23

I’d forgotten about this song but what’s with Golllum on the rocks?

felulageller · 03/07/2021 00:23

B*witched c'est la vie

"I'll blow you away"

Often sang at discos by 10 year old girls!

Not at school but I remember hearing it a lot, probably TV or radio. We didn't have discos.

MotionActivatedDog · 03/07/2021 00:25

Now I'm older I can only assume they were singing about the wicked witch of the East🤣

😂😂😂

No! It’s a head scratcher Grin
DoucheCanoe · 03/07/2021 00:26

Our school played "chocolate salty balls" (Southpark chef) at my first Christmas disco in secondary school too come to think of it 🤣

JeansShirtJeansJacket · 03/07/2021 00:27

Yep, this was always played at school discos and parties.

As were songs by Aqua and The Cartoons, which were also very sexual.

RicherThanYew · 03/07/2021 00:29

Our school played it but the headmaster was a Christian gent and he asked the DJ to shout "Ice Cream" every time the word sex was sung.

m0therofdragons · 03/07/2021 00:29

Yes! Mind you, little mix lyrics are pretty sex related too - I let my primary age dc sing along.

Polkadotties · 03/07/2021 00:32

Ginuwine - pony Wink

CorporateReject · 03/07/2021 00:46

Standard school disco song. Makes me want to listen to Mumbo no. 5 etc as well

Definitely this.

ATieLikeRichardGere · 03/07/2021 00:53

Yes, primary school discos. Along with many of the other songs mentioned! I miss the 90s!

Keepmekeeping · 03/07/2021 01:12

This and so many more. My sister once a similar song very proudly to our very proper grandparents did not go down well at all I think she was 9.

HonestTeacher · 03/07/2021 01:21

Yes! This was always played at my (Catholic) primary school discos. Along with Pretty Fly for a White Guy by Offspring and Freak Me by Another Level. All accompanied by really awful dance moves that were actually just impressions of us shagging. I remember one year, the year Full Monty came out, the DJ played You Sexy Thing and told the boys to start stripping. Thankfully only a few tops came off and one person mooned but all the parent helpers seemed quite chilled about it all.

I'm a teacher at my old primary school now and certainly would not allow any of the above!

WitchSharkadder · 03/07/2021 01:25

Aw, this thread has been an awesome trip down memory lane Grin

WitchSharkadder · 03/07/2021 01:27

Sorry I didn't answer the OPs question at all! Blush Yes, Sex on the Beach and every other song mentioned on this thread we're played at my school discos. Good times.

Notamillenial · 03/07/2021 01:43

Has no one mentioned Bad Touch- Bloodhound Gang? Distinctly remember walking into my year 6 disco to that playing Grin

Ifonlyidknownthen · 03/07/2021 01:47

Please don't tell me you are a snowflake ❄️

MrsMop1964 · 03/07/2021 02:00

Hmm I'm old, I'd have to ask my kids about this one. However I do remember hearing year 1 kids at a school I was visiting sing 'I'm up all night to get lucky'. They had no clue what it meant of course but it made me cringe.
I feel the same way about some of the music played in McDonalds where there are lots of children. I spoke to a manager once and they said they took my point but unfortunately head office tells them what to play.

Lizzie523 · 03/07/2021 02:33

I had it on an album and once went about my grandparents house singing 'I wanna have sex on the beach' v loudly. I remember my grandad asking 'where have you heard that' Grin

HarrietOh · 03/07/2021 05:57

I always remember my DM trying to quieten younger DSis down as she would loudly sing “now the drugs don’t work!” in her pushchair in public Grin

Waxonwaxoff0 · 03/07/2021 06:09

Oh yes. Vengaboys and Steps were also regular features. Loved being a 90s kid.
