And we are supposed to be going as a whole family, with the grandparents, to France on Sunday.

Does anyone know how I can find out if I will be let into France.

I’m sure it won’t be a problem by the time I’m due to go to an EU country in April 2022, but it’s just a bit shit for everyone who’s had it! Especially those going this year, who took this vaccine in good faith.

I know the purpose isn’t to travel but this pandemic has created so many inequalities and unfairnesses (over and above the normal) that having this sort of lottery is just really crap.

TeenMinusTests · 02/07/2021 11:13

I agree. I expect it is scaremongering from somewhere which will all be resolved.

Pro EU people - just the anti brigade whipping up hysteria, it was never going to be an issue
Pro Brexit people - look at the EU being awkward but we sorted them

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 02/07/2021 11:13

Probably is EU being awkward again but still!

purpleboy · 02/07/2021 11:13

8 EU countries have already confirmed the will accept this vaccine, sorry op but France isn't one of them at the moment. I'm also pretty sure this won't be coming into effect before you go, so try not to worry.

Treehaus · 02/07/2021 11:13

No that's not the case. This is that twat Boris cutting corners because he was so eager to hoover up every available vaccine

It's administrative, the EU haven't excluded it on purpose it's just one they haven't registered as they have not purchased any from there so haven't had the need, it wasn't cutting corners as it's the exact same vaccine just manufactured outside of Europe.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 02/07/2021 11:14

They have every right to be awkward, and I agree Boris is anyway.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 02/07/2021 11:14

*a twat

Which 8 countries, and do you have a link please?

@GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER

Am I the only one to think that this is very likely the EU being thoroughly awkward, because they were always anti the AZ vaccine anyway?
The paranoia of some people is ridiculous.

The EU is treating the UK in the same way it is treating all 3rd countries regarding vaccines. Once the UK left the EU, that is what you should expect to happen. Why on earth would you expect the UK to get special treatment?

Pinkandpink · 02/07/2021 11:17

Thank you, much appreciated

Honey12346 · 02/07/2021 11:17

You can get a covid test to go to France

OchonAgusOchonOh · 02/07/2021 11:18

The UK is a 3rd country and is being treated the same way as other 3rd countries.
knittingaddict · 02/07/2021 11:18

Correction, it's my first vaccine from March that is the unregistered one. I've calmed down a bit now. I'm still annoyed, but I realise that it's the same vaccine regardless and my health isn't at risk. Obviously they need to sort this asap. Sympathies to all those who are worried about their future plans.

MaggieFS · 02/07/2021 11:18

There's always another thing at the moment isn't there! But I'm sure this one will get ironed out. Plus tourism dependent countries will accept is as some have already said they will.

They're not being awkward, Boris didn't actually have much to do with the vaccine roll out beyond saying yeah sure go for it. Do you think he did a lot of the leg work?
GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 02/07/2021 11:20

I’m not anti EU -I’d be awkward if I were then. They are under no obligations to do us any favours.

Emmelina · 02/07/2021 11:20

@OddBoots

Batches 4120Z001, 4120Z002 or 4120Z003 are the batch numbers of those manufacturered in India and not recognised by some parts or Europe as a Covid vaccine.
I had 001 as my first vaccine. It’s logged on the nhs app just the same though it does show batch numbers. Hmm. Hopefully it doesn’t present a problem!

I thought France was on the amber list. Have I missed something? Has it been put on green and I missed it?

^^
It was meant to say I agree Boris is a twat - corrected below

Blowingagale · 02/07/2021 11:21

My first is one from the batch. Im not planning to travel, but actually more worried as I would only be travelling due to emergency (death/illness family member). Fortunately unlikely to need to go

Depends if they want the tourism cash, doesn’t it?
NautaOcts · 02/07/2021 11:22

Sorry unrelated but I had a look on the app and can’t see any info about my double Pfizer jab on there. Where do I look and does it automatically update onto there?

kindaclassy · 02/07/2021 11:23

they don't need the UK cash at all, more than enough European tourists, that's the thing.

Not awkwardness, they have their rules as do we, and we chose to leave the EU so now it makes things more complicated when there are two sets of logistics/rules/admin/etc to take into account. Nothing sinister just twice the regulations etc to now factor in.

They're not being awkward. They are treating the UK the same as any other 3rd country, something many of the pro-brexit people did not seem to expect because "do they not know who we are?" and "they need us more than we need them".
