And we are supposed to be going as a whole family, with the grandparents, to France on Sunday.

Does anyone know how I can find out if I will be let into France.

@Etinox - that is what I am hearing (friends of my parents went via ferry and not one French official looked at their paperwork) and makes me less worried about going - I think the key will be PCR negative tests, although I had a nightmare about being taken out of the car at gunpoint last night at the border...do you think I may be overthinking this a bit Grin

motogogo · 07/07/2021 08:41

All 4 of us had it, it's just paperwork my dr assured me

SoOvethis · 11/07/2021 07:14

Anyone have any more input on whether these batches have caused a problem getting in - in particular into France?

Panicmode1 · 13/07/2021 15:47

@sooveit I have a couple of friends (who went via ferry/tunnel) who have got in OK, BUT I am worried because up to today you just had to carry the docs with you and show them, (for Eurotunnel at least), but now you have to upload them 72 hours before travel, so perhaps they will scrutinise them more?! I'm so stressed about it. I wish the French would just make it clear. The recent EU delegation to Malaysia said that the EMA would accept Covishield so I assume it is OK, but it would be so much better to have it in black and white!!

Panicmode1 · 13/07/2021 15:48

Sorry that should be @SoOveThis

SoOvethis · 13/07/2021 19:25

@Panicmode1

So a friend of my dad just travelled to France with BA on Saturday and she has both the Indian batches and had no problem getting in.

Panicmode1 · 13/07/2021 19:38

Great news @SoOvethis - I think, purely from anecdata, that they aren't checking. That said, they seem to have cracked down last night on the unvaccinated...

RedRiverShore · 14/07/2021 08:25

Just see in the Daily Mail that a couple could not go to Malta because of this, it was also mentioned to Grant Shapps on BBC this morning who said he was looking into it, also said in DM that France has suggested it may not accept it either.

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 14/07/2021 09:42

@RedRiverShore am really not sure I'd believe the Daily Mail as a reliable source. I've just been abroad and they weren't even looking at the vaccine certs, just the PLF. Granted it was Spain and they've said they will accept those batches, but I can't imagine a customs official in an airport scrutinising everyone's vaccine certs for the code numbers - they're just too busy.

RedRiverShore · 14/07/2021 09:48

It's also in the Telegraph

RedRiverShore · 14/07/2021 09:50

It was a TUI official that turned them away not customs

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 14/07/2021 10:39

Oh ok...wow.

RedRiverShore · 14/07/2021 10:56

It's in red on the TUI website countries list about Malta not allowing people in with those batches, other countries that TUI serves seem ok, we were thinking of maybe going to Iceland sometime, I think you just have to thoroughly check before booking and hope it doesn't change, the people in the paper got refunded but were going to visit family over there so very disappointing for them

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 14/07/2021 13:36

Good job I have zero desire to go to Malta then, given I have a so-called 'dodgy' jab. Honestly, it's ridiculous that some countries are not accepting them.

RedRiverShore · 14/07/2021 17:26

Malta has done a U turn now on this, Grant Shapps has tweeted

Still don't wanna go. They can shove it! 😂
Cailleach1 · 15/07/2021 08:27

Gosh, I'd love to go to Malta. Fully vaccinated AZ an' all.
