And we are supposed to be going as a whole family, with the grandparents, to France on Sunday.

Does anyone know how I can find out if I will be let into France.

OP posts:
whynotwhatknot · 02/07/2021 10:56

i thought france werent letting anyone in unless emergencies fromthe uk

LightasaBreeze · 02/07/2021 10:57

I'm sure it will be rectified within a while, mine is one of them but that doesn't help people like OP who are going on Sunday, there is a list of countries ignoring this, maybe keep an eye on that OP.

MyDcAreMarvel · 02/07/2021 10:58

@ShameCloud I hope you aren’t planning on flying to a holiday destination as that’s more of a blood clot risk also the pill.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 02/07/2021 10:58

My first was one of those - so you’re saying they might not “count” for travel abroad?

Aposterhasnoname · 02/07/2021 10:59

Aww, that’s shit. My first jab is the same. I’m sure it’ll be sorted out but doubt it will by Sunday. Can you reschedule?

SpindleWhorl · 02/07/2021 10:59

What's supposed to be wrong with it??

Zilla1 · 02/07/2021 11:00

I don't think there's anything 'wrong with it' clinically.

I mean what fresh hell is this???

I’m not going abroad but bloomin heck.

Nothing, it’s just that particular factory hasn’t been approved by the eu because they weren’t getting their supplies from It.
purpleboy · 02/07/2021 11:01

@Kingstonmumof1

you can still go, but it will mean you have to isolate for 7 days. What kind of property are you staying in, if a self contained villa type thing then as long as you get the others to do the shopping etc. it doesn't have to be a disaster. If you are planning an activity based trip like Disney then that is another matter.
Where are you seeing that? Did I miss it, I thought I read they will literally turn you away.
ChicChaos · 02/07/2021 11:03

My first jab is also one of those batches, second is not. Both of DH's jabs are fine. That vaccine manufacturer didn't seek EMA approval so the hesitancy to accept it is because of that, it's still effective.

Not true. Unvaccinated people can only enter France if they have an essential reason for travel.
looptheloopinahulahoop · 02/07/2021 11:04

My DH's first jab was one of those. We weren't planning to go to an EU country this summer anyway, hopefully it won't be an issue next spring. Although he's old enough to get the booster in the autumn.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 02/07/2021 11:04

It’s says Vaxzeria though, not the name they aren’t accepting.

LightasaBreeze · 02/07/2021 11:05

It affects mainly those that had AZ jab in March it seems, hopefully our PM got one of these also as he had his mid March.

They can tell by the batch number, which is on your covid passport
Kingstonmumof1 · 02/07/2021 11:07

Apologies I didn't realise that you need a compelling reason to enter France if you're not vaccinated, my mistake!

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 02/07/2021 11:09

Am I the only one to think that this is very likely the EU being thoroughly awkward, because they were always anti the AZ vaccine anyway?

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 02/07/2021 11:10

I'm traveling tomorrow and my first jab was from one of those batches. But no country has said they will be turning anyone away - it's all just speculation by the papers at the minute. Spanish entry requirements still state EMA or WHO approved vaccines will be accepted. Even those batches were WHO approved.

For those saying you will be turned away, please stop scaremongering.

SpindleWhorl · 02/07/2021 11:10

I'm embarrassed to say I had completely missed all this.

No that's not the case. This is that twat Boris cutting corners because he was so eager to hoover up every available vaccine.
Sakura7 · 02/07/2021 11:11

Why are you not getting the second jab?

The poster stated pretty clearly what their reason was.

HeronLanyon · 02/07/2021 11:11

I’m in this category. No plans to travel soon (out of the U.K.). I’m sure it will sort itself out but I feel for you op - no answers - but support and hope you sort it out ?
