Sorry if this has been done. I've only just seen this shared online and I'm so disturbed. 'Cry more slut' - she's a child Sad I don't understand the hatred and violence towards girls and women, I really can't wrap my head around why those people thought those comments were funny or ok to post.

Ridiculous again @Boomisshiss You know I haven’t said that. What is your agenda?

LuluJakey1 · 01/07/2021 23:05

There are just some ignorant, horrible people about. DH showed me a facebook page belonging to a parent if a child at his school. It is horrific about this German girl. The comments are disgusting- all from other parents and children.
The two idiots who jumped on Chris Whitty leave me astonished. They are full of pathetic excuses about it being a bit of fun. I would have been terrified if I had been him. They had been drinking and had been at the demonstration outside of his flat for a couple of hours with the anti-vaxxers - 'because they fancied a laugh' . Their mothers have been making excuses for them too.
I really don't know what is going on in society. These people are all horrible.

MammaSchwifty · 01/07/2021 23:05

@Bryonyshcmyony don't think it's confirmation bias, I don't have a problem with England winning, just a certain type of English fan absolutely fucking disgracing themselves and making the world a slightly worse place in their victory. Bizarrely, they are more bearable when they lose.

ClareBlue · 01/07/2021 23:07

They were always there in our society but twitter gives a voice to those previously not heard.
Increasingly the evidence shows there were very good reasons why they were not heard and should not be in the future.
Historically, where the state couldn't police communities then they policed themselves and public shame was a very real deterant.
We definitely need to ensure all friends, family, work colleagues, drinking pals, and all providers of services know which human being thinks it is acceptable to post publically their view that a 9 year old girl crying over her team losing should be labelled a nazi slut, or whatever bile they came out with.
Everyone should know exactly who they are.

Jahebejrjr · 01/07/2021 23:11

At last some common sense. Some posters need to introduce some nuance into their thinking instead of screaming about all England fans being apes and being happy that a young girl was called a terrible thing. When sensible people worry about how polarised attitudes are on social media, it’s some people on here they’re talking about.

shouldistop · 01/07/2021 23:13

I think jaack is being sarcastic? Surely?

That's really disgusting. Imagine calling a wee girl a slut.

SachaStark · 01/07/2021 23:18

He’s definitely being sarcastic, it fits the general theme of his channel and podcast.

Angrycat2768 · 01/07/2021 23:20

@babbaloushka

The ultimate irony is some of the right wing, homophobic nationalists calling the Germans nazis, as though they're not far closer to fascism than most Germans now...
Exactly. They're so stupid they dont even know who the nazis were and what they stood for- they are too thick to realise they are the nazis.
VestaTilley · 01/07/2021 23:21

It’s obscene. That poor little girl.

Men are the absolute worst. I hope they’re booted off Twitter and lose their jobs.

BastardMonkfish · 01/07/2021 23:22

@Bryonyshcmyony

Shut up and let the men get on with making degrading comments about a child then?

To be fair, I'd only seen them on this post. And the one top right is sarcasm btw.

You'd be better off giving up twitter than getting in a froth about football.

I said upthread I don't have Twitter and I'm not getting in a froth about football. I'm 'getting in a froth' about comments grown men have made about a child. You might think they should be brushed under the carpet because it's resulted in people making judgements about England fans - but you should take that up with the people making the comments. If I want to take issue with a ten year old being called a slut, I will.

Yeah I think that one was added into the picture to show the reaction of the people in that pub.

That was awful too. Chris Whitty is an absolute gentleman.

Careful. The footy fans will be along to lecture us about how we really just hate football so it's somehow our fault...

babbaloushka · 01/07/2021 23:28

@StormcloakNord

England fans (all football fans, really) are absolutely gross.

We were out for dinner in England (visiting from Scotland) on Tuesday night and when England scored it was fucking riotous. Screaming, shouting, jumping, throwing drinks.

It was like watching a bunch of fucking apes.

Yes, a venue by us was utterly wrecked by fans unable to control themselves, two people went to hospital, one with an asthma attack from flares, one with a fractured ankle after having a bench chucked at them. Footage shared shows them behaving like actual gibbons.

England fans are notorious for being drunk and disorderly, remember 2018?

entropynow · 01/07/2021 23:28

Oh, I see they are already here. And they wonder why we don't love their "beautiful game"...

Boomisshiss · 01/07/2021 23:33

Yes I’m pretty sure from looking at jackmate online he is being sarcastic and is saying he isn’t proud to be an English fan. When the entire pub he was in was cheering a little girl crying.

Boomisshiss · 01/07/2021 23:35

@entropynow

The mantra of other people are worse seems to be their main excuse .
Kipperandarthur · 01/07/2021 23:39

Just stay off Twitter it’s heinous. I’ve only seen this here on MN and don’t understand why it’s being repeated and being “broadcast” on here.
Don’t give it oxygen it’s horrible.

CherryPieface · 01/07/2021 23:53

It’s just so awful.

BumbleFlump · 02/07/2021 00:03

TBH I’m not surprised and suspect many footie fans are ignorant closet racists. I don’t think they like women much either 😒

Sweeping generalisation alert. I've been a football fan for over 30 years. I'm not gross in any way, shape or form. I genuinely love the game, played it myself for many years and am just like millions of other normal people who happen to have been born in England and happen to love football.

Emmelina · 02/07/2021 02:26

Disgusting reactions. She probably wasn’t even crying at the result, but at the eruption of noise at the end of a long night for her.

Biker47 · 02/07/2021 08:40

@MyFloorIsLava

The top right one reads to me like he's being deeply sarcastic and thinks the cheering people in the pub are scumbuckets, to be fair.
Probably is, he's a youtuber who is quite sarcastic and rips the piss out of influencers etc.
Cherries590 · 02/07/2021 08:47

Twitter is a cesspit.

TheGongGoesBong · 02/07/2021 13:44

Never fear! A kind hearted Welshman is here (and all of those who donated!)
