I thought I had a forgotten about tampon “lost” within me, Googled and apparently it can’t get lost.

Husband tried to remove it (was really romantic 😳) and I eventually removed it except it wasn’t a tampon, I have accidentally removed my Mirena 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈.

I am waiting for 111 to call me back, I feel like such an idiot🙈🙈.

Ouch!!! Are you ok?

You’ll need to book yourself in to have a replacement mirena if you want to continue that birth control.

I would say you don’t have a tampon in if you dh was able to get right up there to remove the coil

Verbena87 · 27/06/2021 20:48

Oh Jesus, did it not hurt?!? Crossing my legs just thinking about it!

Besswess88 · 27/06/2021 20:50

No I removed it 🤣🤣

I am on the waiting list for removal as DH has had a vasectomy.

Cripes. That’s a lot of rummaging.

I’m sure you’ve done yourself no harm, other than needing a new coil. I suppose it goes without saying you shouldn’t try and pop it back in...

Wombat24 · 27/06/2021 20:50

Ouch...

PurpleyBlue · 27/06/2021 20:51

Ow!!! Did it not hurt?

Purplecatshopaholic · 27/06/2021 20:51

How on earth…..?

IntroducingMyLadyGarden · 27/06/2021 20:51

Hahaha that's priceless and now all you have to do is make a call to cancel your wait for removal - win! 😆😆😆

Soubriquet · 27/06/2021 20:51

Well at least they saved you a job getting it removed but still I’m wincing for you.

It hurt having mine out

BaronessOfTheNorth · 27/06/2021 20:53

Haaaahahaa!! YANBU.

PS I have fainted every time I've had one inserted and it's been horrendously painful but never felt a single thing at IUD removal.

I once did this with a contact lens and pulled up part of my cornea.

Biancadelrioisback · 27/06/2021 20:56

Well, I've not exactly done that but I have forgotten about a tampon up there for about a week or so. Had to do some wild gymnastics to get my arm up there to retrieve it...

Soubriquet · 27/06/2021 20:56

Ok…I’m getting the feeling I shouldn’t have commented on this thread.. Grin

Cryalot2 · 27/06/2021 20:59

How do you feel?[flowers.
Has your husband had his clear tests after his op?. They can take a while.

Buggerthebotox · 27/06/2021 21:00

I lost a tampon. It's really easily done. I forgot to tug the string when putting it in. Blush. It refused to come out of its own accord and a had to have it removed by a nurse.

A coil though - ouch.

PeanuttyButter · 27/06/2021 21:11

I removed my own Mirena I was surprised at how easy it came out to be honest!
Least you don't have to worry about some random person mooching around there and removing it

Besswess88 · 27/06/2021 21:23

No - I felt nothing .....

I am worried that anything has been left behind 🙈🙈

Have you googled to check what it looks like vs what you have?

Thank God. I thought I was the only one who ever did this.

I did this while drunk once. I felt so embarrassed explaining myself at the eye hospital.
UpSlyDown · 27/06/2021 21:25

OP women remove their own mirerenas all the time (I work in family planning). It’s v easy you literally just pull the strings (which I’m sure you’ve realised!). If you can see the full t shape nothing will be left behind. All you’ve done is saved yourself a trip and speculum examination!
