I thought I had a forgotten about tampon “lost” within me, Googled and apparently it can’t get lost.

Husband tried to remove it (was really romantic 😳) and I eventually removed it except it wasn’t a tampon, I have accidentally removed my Mirena 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈.

I am waiting for 111 to call me back, I feel like such an idiot🙈🙈.

I removed mine myself . It came out with a tampon. Didn't feel a thing

How the hell does a coil stay in anyway, and what does one look like? Like how big?

A colleague once did this when very drunk. She rang me in the morning to tell me and ask me to come up with an excuse and to tell our boss that she would be in late that day. Luckily he was the kind of man who didn't ask too many questions when I hinted that it was 'women's troubles'

@Bingowingslikeashieldofsteel - I've done that before. It was v dry and uncomfortable. I don't pull my tampon strings down and whilst I've never lost one (yet) I occasionally miss and pinch myself, which hurts!

Once forgot to remove a v mini one (end of period, barely anything there anyway) before sex and my poor then bf was a bit confused by how dry & overly tight it felt and stopped v quickly. He was v gracious about the "rope burn" on his penis!

I lost a tampon. It's really easily done. I forgot to tug the string when putting it in. . It refused to come out of its own accord and a had to have it removed by a nurse.

A coil though - ouch.

No, it's really not easy to lose a tampon. In fact, I'd go as far as to say it's impossible. There's nowhere for it to go.

Not being able to get it out is another matter, although you should fairly easily be able to get your fingers either side of it even if the string is tucked up there, especially if you use a little lubricant.

OK, thats enough mumsnet for tonight. I've never been able to feel my iud strings but then I've got short fingers.

I've lost three coils, my body just rejected them, it felt like having horrendous period pains and then the coil just fell out. My GP couldn't understand it as everything was quite normal "up there".

My copper coil came out after a rather sensational series of orgasms..... we'd gone for lunch after (I was peckish ;) ) and I'd felt something. I took the MAP and had it re-inserted.... Still look back on that special morning with fondness....

On the other side, had to go to gp to have a lost condom located and removed, mortifying.

This thread title should be “things you’ve lost and found in your vagina”.

Jesus. I remember when I had mine removed I nearly hit the ceiling.

It's out now. unless you have pain/temp/smelly discharge no need to talk to 111. They will probably send you a blue light ambulance......🤦‍♀️

I've forgotten a tampon and put a second one in when I pulled it out both came out it felt like I tugged my stomach down not painful just....wrong I check properly now

I removed my own abdominal drain.

This thread has made me feel a bit lightheaded and to make it worse for everyone I will add, I forgot a tampon once and after a couple of days it stank to high heaven.
