Surely you would have cameras in a Government building and surely pointing it at doorways between different areas or departments isn't a bad idea.
It looks like a screenshot of a cctv security camera monitor.

surely there isn't going to be revelations about Rees Mogg having a harem?

There can't possibly be hoards of women with Rees Mogg in our wank banks.

LadyEloise · 29/06/2021 11:14

@Peregrina - Jacob Rees Mogg. No ! Shock

Who is the negotiator associated with Gove ? @JackieWeaverHandforthCouncil as I didn't see that Popbit*h article ?
I thought Sarah Vine's article was interesting.
She gave great praise to her one time friends, the Camerons.
I did wonder was it genuine praise. Hmm

StormzyinaTCup · 29/06/2021 11:20

There was a thread running on MN a while back about fancying JRM!!

Peregrina · 29/06/2021 11:30

In case there is any misunderstanding - I do not fancy Jacob Rees-Mogg. (Nor Wancock, nor de Pfeffle.)

Rees-Mogg was last seen celebrating the happy British fish, as I recall.

Crockof · 29/06/2021 11:43

You know that saying that when the mistress becomes the wife they create a vacancy, I take it if they've moved in and pretending to play happy families that there is currently two vacancies.

SadinOxon · 29/06/2021 11:50

@Odisia

I have no time for either of them but I think calling Gina a serial cheat, with no evidence, is going a bit far.
Sorry, you're right - I probably let my indignation get the better of me. But I am indignant (enough to post on Mumsnet!). The post from @HaveringWavering sums up the situation perfectly, IMO.

I think Matt Hancock is actually a really very average - average looks, average intelligence, no cause close to his heart etc. Gina on the other hand I reckon is really very bright, very driven and usually gets exactly what she wants. So when those personalities combined, MH was like putty in her hands - I can see his brain turning to jelly when he was realised he was going to shag her, the stupid fool. But I think she showed a ruthlessness that I find seriously dispiriting. Just like MH, her children and her husband were afterthoughts, and then she stabbed her friend (Hancock's wife) through the heart. It's grim. Maybe I blame her more than him - and that depresses me too.

Hope I'm wrong and that they are genuinely in love. It'd be one small silver lining in an otherwise truly dreadful situation.

RailingOnandOn · 29/06/2021 11:52

@Schmoana this point about companies who deal in ppe being sidelined shocked me when I first heard of it.

Absolutely bloody sickening. Please will someone take on the apparent / alleged dodgy dealings.

the80sweregreat · 29/06/2021 12:01

Gina is possibly the female version of Boris Johnson , but will get a harder time of it because she isn't male ( just my opinion )
It might work out with all this baggage.
It might not. Time will tell by which time everyone would have moved on anyway,
It's true what someone said to me though , if he had come out as being gay and having an affair I think he would have had a lot more sympathy too ( just based on how Phillip Schofield was treated)
It's a shame it affects the children though ; they must be upset by it all.

ScribblyBaller · 29/06/2021 12:05

I'm never quite sure what's going on with people who marry multiple times. Are they hopeless romantics, or are they thrill seekers who are always seeking the buzz of someone new. Who knew Boris Johnson and Jordan had so much in common!

vinicunca · 29/06/2021 12:11

“Imagine being prepared to sacrifice your home life with your children so you could shag Matt Hancock. “

It’s absolutely extraordinary. I wonder what actual process was taking place in her mind?

He is the epitome of insipid. “Pale, male, stale.” Sorry, but that’s what he is. What was she thinking?

Blossomtoes · 29/06/2021 12:12

I’m one of those people.

First marriage at 18(!) was doomed from the off, we were too young.
Second marriage at 33, he upped and left for a younger model after six months.
Third time lucky at 46! Triumph of hope over experience, 21 years and still going strong.

Roussette · 29/06/2021 12:15

ScribblyBaller my DD had a relationship with a guy... on the face of it, he was great. However, his mother had been married seven times. His father was number 3 or 4 I think. Needless to say he was a commitment phobe and serial philanderer (not known at the time) and broke her heart. She took a long time to get over it.
It doesn't make for stability for a child....

Roussette · 29/06/2021 12:17

Oh sorry Blossom not directing that at you! The mother I talked about is with no one now!

ScribblyBaller · 29/06/2021 12:22

Third time was definitely the charm for you, @Blossomtoes! Smile

(Husband number two sounds like an absolute dick.)

Wow, cannot begin to imagine the chaos of his childhood, @Roussette. Six stepdads and three stepmums does not make for healthy relationship forming in adulthood.
ScribblyBaller · 29/06/2021 12:24

I'm sorry for your daughter's heartbreak. It's so painful.

Tanith · 29/06/2021 12:25

@Peregrina

Yes, Rees-Mogg has kept mighty quiet, hasn't he?
He got what he wanted with Brexit. I don’t expect to hear much from him again.
ScribblyBaller · 29/06/2021 12:26

Oh, sorry I misread your initial post. It was just his mum that was the repeat divorcer. To get to seven spouses must take real dedication and obsession.

Roussette · 29/06/2021 12:26

Yes, I was so worried about her, she did have some counselling actually and has now moved on from it, thank goodness. And has met a lovely guy, long may it last,

Roussette · 29/06/2021 12:29

Yes, and then to never end up with anyone, a serious problem I would say and I'm sure it affected the son greatly, he seems to be doing the same thing. Meet someone, charms them, moves in, cheats on them, moves out
Rinse and repeat.

Schmoana · 29/06/2021 12:56

Having an affair is one thing - he is a snake.

But more importantly I think he (and priti Patel) should go to prison for the following if wrongdoing is proved-

mobile.twitter.com/JolyonMaugham/status/1408490348184281099

Also, the other big question is about the lack of checks and balances and proper scrutiny in this government, particularly around the appointment of NEDs

Other issues about security in general but I’m glad that all this has been uncovered due to the lack of security!

It was. I don’t think no 2 was particularly a dick, just led by his!

SnuggledUpInABlanket · 29/06/2021 14:03

@HaveringWavering

I know it’s grim isn’t it? She is the glam confident, exotically-named rich girl that all the boys love at Oxford, he moons over her for years but she keeps him dangling and he eventually plumps for second best Martha, who dutifully supports his political ambitions, pops out three kids (because two is never enough for these types is it?) and gets a Mum-job instead of using her own Oxford degree. In the meantime he gets to cabinet and suddenly Gina is all over him like a rash and he can’t believe his luck. Martha and the kids are only a footnote, a wrong turning in his epic 20 year long love story. Stupid idiot.
That's exactly what I think. He was friendzoned for years until he became powerful/useful. I wonder how long that will last now he's lost his standing.
Blossomtoes · 29/06/2021 14:07

She’s not that bloody glam, she looks pretty ordinary to me. His discarded wife is much more attractive.
