Surely you would have cameras in a Government building and surely pointing it at doorways between different areas or departments isn't a bad idea.
It looks like a screenshot of a cctv security camera monitor.

Thank you @Piglet89

Whilst I get the fury and agree that Matt Hancock is a bad person, it seems that he's setting the example of "so what, I got what I wanted and I don't care about anyone else's feelings because I am happy."

Chances are, he will be happy and do just fine. We can vent our furious opinions and be angry about it. Empathise with his wronged wife. But looks like he won.

Man Hancock is the kind of person that makes me want to believe in things like Karma.

Zotter · 28/06/2021 20:18

@JaniieJones

'what we have experienced is a Government doing well, I dread to think how bad it would be if they were doing badly'

We've done as well/badly as everywhere else. I seem to be the only person on mn who actually looks at data but look at this deaths and infection rates per million not much different from other nearby countries. Deaths per million are less than Italy, Poland and Belgium and pretty similar to France and Spain.

All 4 home nations have had similar experiences. Yet its only ever Johnson that gets constant hysterical criticism on mn. Sturgeon has a small country (5m people fgs) with a much less dense population (65 per sq km as opposed to England's 280 per sq km) and they've had a staggeringly shit time compared to other similar sized countries.

It's been a pandemic. It was never going to be fun or easy.

The U.K. spread of Covid last March was behind Italy, France and Spain by about 2 weeks. The U.K. govt squandered the extra time we had to prepare. Germany 90,000 deaths with a population of 85 million which would be 170,000 deaths adjusting for population if done same as U.K.
the80sweregreat · 28/06/2021 20:20

Karma doesn't seem to extend to these types though does it? He is a wealthy man who will sail through the divorce and get what he wants.
Same as his ex boss has in the past too.
The devil takes care of his own , it's such a true saying.

Schmoana · 28/06/2021 20:21

Long read here from Twitter but to summarise: Bricklayer was paid £20million to act as go between between govt and govt friends for overpriced PPE contract, and real contractors told their Services not needed. If this is proved he should go to prison. And Priti Patel

I have can't see Hancock really seeming appealing to his lady love for much longer.

Sat around with not much to do, loss of status, sacked, investigation and dodgy dealings, a bitter divorce on the horizon, argument with soon to be ex wife, the protected and boring details of divorce, broken children, guilt,... All in sloppy Joe's.. And no income.

Its hardly loves young dream at the cut and thrust of the heart of power.

Roussette · 28/06/2021 20:35

But he's still an MP and on about £80K and got some sort of payoff.

But I do agree... I can't see it lasting but stranger things have happened. I would imagine she is a lot wealthier than him, she has a lot of work interests. A director of Oliver Bonas and Director and major shareholder of another Co

the80sweregreat · 28/06/2021 20:38

I bet that it all works out for him
He'll creep back into a new job somewhere else. Probably even more money.
They will buy a new love shack
The divorce might be tricky, but go through ok
They will see their various children with it suits them. I bet it's a lot smoother than most people's divorces ( money helps)
Nah, I think he'll be fine.
If he can orchestrate an affair around a pandemic , dealing with lawyers might not be as bad , even ones trying to clean him out.
He is clearly more ruthless than we all thought he was too!

TeddingtonTrashbag · 28/06/2021 20:41

But I do agree... I can't see it lasting
No the day-to-day relentless stuff with kids and divorces will soon shine the cold light in on the magic.
Look at George Osborne. That’s over, and without the complication of both partners having young kids to juggle access
arrangements.

I’ll bet she soon goes back to her husband.

the80sweregreat · 28/06/2021 20:47

Would her husband have her back though?
If he had any sense he wouldn't.
She has nowhere left to go now. She has to at least give it a go with him, if only to save face.
He'll find someone else , rich , good looking , I can see a queue forming already in his circles!
Quite a catch ( once the divorce goes through)

Lemonmelonsun · 28/06/2021 20:53

Oh no!! Not a catch!

No!!

Apparently George is engaged to his girlfriend and there's a baby on the way!
PicsInRed · 28/06/2021 20:58

Matt "Hands" Hancock a catch? To the women in his own circle? After this disgrace?

Ha! No. Certainly no more aristocrats for him.

the80sweregreat · 28/06/2021 21:00

I meant Ginas husband , not Hancock!
Women will be after him once his back on the market.

Wow. That thread makes for interesting reading. If proven true heads should roll. But people seem to see the corruption and just shrug and go 'meh'. At some point something surely needs to give.

Wherearemymarbles · 28/06/2021 21:04

I think a pp was referring to Oliver Truss who is rich and not unattractive so yes, I’m sure there will be a queue for him!
Be interesting what Gina gets in a divorce…

Its the kids I’m sorry for - dirty laundry in the press doesn't make for a happy time at school or home

PicsInRed · 28/06/2021 21:05

🤣 That makes sense, yes, he'll be snapped up, handsome, wealthy, healthy, sympathetic divorce story...he'll go for 20% over asking before his listing even goes live. He probably knew that as he helped Gina put her bags in the car. Good for him too, poor guy, I hope he gets 100% of his own company in the divorce!

That is so sad, but also so true too. Depressing.

Thank God they can't escape Death. Devil can't protect his own from the inevitable.

Wherearemymarbles · 28/06/2021 21:06

Tress, not Truss!!!

the80sweregreat · 28/06/2021 21:11

Gina will get money no doubt.
For this crowd , it's not really a huge problem.
I bet Hancock will only pay the minimum he can get away with too. I bet he is tight with money and fight to keep his share of any assets despite being the one very much in the wrong!
( just speculation on my part)
It'll be messy , but all of them won't be broke or homeless will they! It's the kids who will come off worse :(

Bluethrough · 28/06/2021 21:13

@JaniieJones Actually you are not.

All countries count deaths differently and one hand you dismiss Scotland as a small country etc but then compare the UK to Belgium!

Excess deaths data collated over 12 months, puts the UK at fractionally behind the USA, at approx 20% increase, France is 14% Germany lower again.

The UK has done extremely badly and even now, despite a great vaccine program, is now the sick man of europe, with most countries not allowing us in without restriction - no vaccination dividend.

Hancock along with Johnson has been at the heart of this situation... Dumb and Dumber.

I read somewhere that Boris' ex did well out the divorce. Think it helped that she was also a trained lawyer herself.

A judge might not be so sympathetic towards Matt Hancock, given he was Health Secretary during a pandemic at the time of his Adultery.

As for Karma, look at Boris. He got the top job he coveted, but he has been hounded by misfortunes ever since.

vinicunca · 28/06/2021 21:17

BJ has surpassed himself again today, I see. Back into a “one of the people” high-viz jacket to totally evade the question of why he didn’t fire MH on the Friday and why he deemed “the matter closed.” Now he’s trying to imply he wanted MH out as soon as the scandal broke GrinGrinGrin The audacity of the man! He is a walking joke. Imagine how stupid he thinks the public must be. Absolutely astonishing.

PicsInRed · 28/06/2021 21:20

Hancock is one of the "Script" cheaters who are absolute scumbags to divorce. He'll be a nightmare, poor Martha.

Hopefully Hancock's soon signing from the same divorce hymn sheet as Johnson, perpetually broke and loudly complaining about the vast expenses of his debauched life.

the80sweregreat · 28/06/2021 22:00

Tories pretending to be ' one of the people' is always annoying.
Boris Johnson loves these high vis jackets though doesn't he? Must have a cupboard full of them.
( I bet Carrie loves him dressed up in one !)
Mind boggles.
