Surely you would have cameras in a Government building and surely pointing it at doorways between different areas or departments isn't a bad idea.
It looks like a screenshot of a cctv security camera monitor.

@Piglet89

I don’t know why we’re all engaging with *@Scaredycatmoo76*’s ridiculously weak argument as to why the government has done well…it’s akin to saying “Well, I attended Cambridge from a state school; absolutely nothing at all wrong with the education system from where in I’m standing”.

Not really worth any credence.

I hoped @scaredycatmoo76 was going to explain what the government had done so well, but they seemed to run away before answering which is a shame.
Peregrina · 28/06/2021 17:14

If what we have experienced is a Government doing well, I dread to think how bad it would be if they were doing badly.

starlilly88 · 28/06/2021 17:32

Not sure if this has been mentioned but the Sun journalist who broke/wrote the Hancock story is an ex boyfriend of Mrs Johnson. What a strange coincidence!

Harry someone?
starlilly88 · 28/06/2021 17:36

Harry Cole I think

They all move in very small incestuous circles. I’d be more surprised if he didn’t have Westminster connotations.
Bertiebiscuit · 28/06/2021 17:41

Word on the street is that the affair is at least a year old - so probably this is not the only time they broke the rules

starlilly88 · 28/06/2021 17:43

The rumours about Gove are getting louder too, especially after his wife wrote the article in the DM. Think that's why he didn't get the Health job. First heard rumours about him back in April. Another open secret in Westminster

quiteathome · 28/06/2021 17:44

It would not surprise me if the affair was that old. Him giving her a job seems suspicious.

Is that in doubt? I assumed that it had been going on for at least as long as he had employed her as his -aide- mistriss.
the80sweregreat · 28/06/2021 17:44

Maybe this Harry Cole and Dominic are friends too? ( sounds like a footballer name doesn't it?)
Harry and Dom, ready to pounce.
They all know each other don't they. It is a real vipers den up in Westminster land.

'what we have experienced is a Government doing well, I dread to think how bad it would be if they were doing badly'

We've done as well/badly as everywhere else. I seem to be the only person on mn who actually looks at data but look at this deaths and infection rates per million not much different from other nearby countries. Deaths per million are less than Italy, Poland and Belgium and pretty similar to France and Spain.

All 4 home nations have had similar experiences. Yet its only ever Johnson that gets constant hysterical criticism on mn. Sturgeon has a small country (5m people fgs) with a much less dense population (65 per sq km as opposed to England's 280 per sq km) and they've had a staggeringly shit time compared to other similar sized countries.

It's been a pandemic. It was never going to be fun or easy.

starlilly88 · 28/06/2021 17:47

My money was on a Gove/Dom leak but now the link with Cole makes me think Mrs J may have something to do with it. Maybe she doesn't like cheaters, even though she married one

the80sweregreat · 28/06/2021 17:47

I don't read Sarah Vine, but I did yesterday on the back of a mumsnet recommendation
Her ' Samantha Cameron was a good friend of mine' was very poignant
She sounded sad that they are clearly not friends now.

Owl55 · 28/06/2021 17:53

Let’s be honest the government have had him lined up as a fall guy before this came out!!! How can a government building be secure if camera footage is available to the media, prob the govern released it to distract us from something else !!! There are 6 children affected by this as well as husband / wife , how very sad particulary for the teenage kids who will get tormented at school too and it constantly being available on the internet for years to come😢

Peregrina · 28/06/2021 17:54

Other densely populated countries like Taiwan and Vietnam have done better. We don't hear about China these days, but that may be because they don't release the information.

Scotland and Wales aren't being led by a 'shape shifting creep' so they may feel more confident in what they are being told by their public health authorities. I must have missed their health ministers resigning this weekend too.

Peregrina · 28/06/2021 17:57

It must be absolute misery for their children.

Teenagers tend to think that seeing their own parents canoodling is a bit embarrassing, but to see your father all over someone else's mother is a thousand times worse.

What happened with Sarah Vine and SamCam? Does anyone know?

Peregrina · 28/06/2021 18:00

Sarah Vine and Sam Cam fell out over Brexit.

the80sweregreat · 28/06/2021 18:00

Yes, I'm hoping that the various children involved are at private schools who have already broken up for the summer maybe?
It's going to be rough on them whatever happens and nothing is ever deleted from the net.

Yes pontifying from her ivory castle.
the80sweregreat · 28/06/2021 18:03

Yes, Carrie J is probably the ' do as I say , not as I do ' type of woman.
Lots of those types about.

starlilly88 · 28/06/2021 18:07

Dom says Mrs J sent Boz 89 texts per hour to get rid of Hancock. Not sure how he knows that if it's true. She probably thought her plan was failing when Boz said the matter was closed

Blossomtoes · 28/06/2021 18:09

Dom says Mrs J sent Boz 89 texts per hour

Is that even possible?

It's been a pandemic. It was never going to be fun or easy.

Wales and Scotland don't have control of the borders though, if Johnson is letting people fly in then even if Sturgeon says they can't fly into Scottish airports she can't stop them flying into an English airport and crossing the border.

Regardless of how they have done it is the lying that makes people lose confidence. I work in a care home and when Hancock/Johnson/Zahawi were on TV saying all care homes had been offered the jab I knew it was't true as our residents hadn't, most staff hadn't, two of us had due to age for the other one or disabled partner for me. Then they lie and say there never was a problem with PPE when there was and now Johnson seems to be saying he sacked Hancock.

Can't stand lying.
