AIBU to hate this trend on Adult clothing?

There seems to be huge amounts of Disney logos, Disney characters and other cartoon characters and images on adult clothes. It makes me so cross. I do not want to dress like a child. Am I the only one who this annoys ?

Erm, don't buy it then
I can't stand it but each to their own

newnortherner111 · 02/06/2021 18:48

I would never buy them either.

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 02/06/2021 18:48

I don't either, but I can't say it annoys me. Others clearly want to, which makes me raise an eyebrow and move on to another rail in the hunt for something I like. Each to their own and all that.

LongPauseNoAnswer · 02/06/2021 18:48

Give me a Disney logo over cropped, ripped, backless or bum skimming any day.

DulseSeaweed · 02/06/2021 18:48

No, but someone must be buying it. I also feel the same about leggings for day wear, 'cold shoulder' tops (wtf) and just about every tee with a slogan on but each to their own.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 02/06/2021 18:49

I suppose some people must like it - presumably they wouldn’t make it if it didn’t sell.
Personally I wouldn’t be seen dead in it, so I don’t buy it.

Yeah, it is annoying when you’re forced to buy and wear things you don’t like. Oh, wait.
Flubgusters420 · 02/06/2021 18:50

I don't wear that stuff (I like very plain clothes) but can't say it annoys me that it exists.

IsThePopeCatholic · 02/06/2021 18:51

I agree, op. Infantilisation. I hate the whole disneyfication of childhood too.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 02/06/2021 18:51

meh
sounds ridiculous to get cross about other people wearing whatever the fuck they like

Soubriquet · 02/06/2021 18:52

I like Disney

I have a lot of clothing with Disney on it

You don’t like it, you don’t buy it

User629202 · 02/06/2021 18:52

I find ‘Disney adults’ a weird concept, but it doesn’t annoy me. There’s plenty to buy without it.

cupsofcoffee · 02/06/2021 18:52

Why are you so cross? Hmm

Lockheart · 02/06/2021 18:52

What part of having a Disney character on it means it's for children?

You're not dressing like a child if you're wearing adult clothes, regardless of what's on them.

Movingtothebeat · 02/06/2021 18:53

I think I’ve only seen this on women’s nightwear, and have always thought how juvenile it is but obviously plenty of women love it because it sells.

romdowa · 02/06/2021 18:53

I quite like it but I'm sure there is non disney stuff for you to buy as well 😊

Aprilx · 02/06/2021 18:53

I haven’t noticed this trend.

MrMeeseekslookatme · 02/06/2021 18:54

All of my PJ's have Minnie mouse and Winnie the pooh on them.

Oh dear.

Catswithflamingos · 02/06/2021 18:54

I love seeing people get upset because adults who like Disney exist

Wanttocry · 02/06/2021 18:55

I would never buy it. But it doesn’t annoy me, there are plenty of clothes I wouldn’t buy, and I’m sure there are people who would never buy the things I wear.

stackemhigh · 02/06/2021 18:55

YANBU, OP, it's extremely infantalising. Men's clothing doesn't have Disney characters.

i found the perfect length nightshirt, full sleeve, thigh length, 100% cotton.

Unfortunately it's got Bambi's face on the front and Bambi's tail where my ass is.

Professionallytorn · 02/06/2021 18:56

Often see an otherwise nice top which I might like to buy, then wait, Mickey Mouse ears on it, or worst.... Wish i could find same clothing without the kids designs on, but I can't. Frustrating.

Love my disney clothes, normally try to wear something Disney every day.
I love them I'm using my money to buy them and I think I look great.

Professionallytorn · 02/06/2021 18:57

Worse * even

MarcelineMissouri · 02/06/2021 18:58

Approximately 70% of my wardrobe is Disney including shoes Confused
If you don’t like it don’t buy it. If I see an item of clothing and I don’t like it..... I carry on looking. Disney has always been a THING.
