There seems to be huge amounts of Disney logos, Disney characters and other cartoon characters and images on adult clothes. It makes me so cross. I do not want to dress like a child. Am I the only one who this annoys ?

My Dd recently got a limited edition Pokemon jacket!
She also has a pokeball tattoo.
Huge fan.

I got mine from the pokémon centre in Tokyo, I could have spent so much money in there. Good choice on the tattoo.

I think you need a hobby

Pollypocket89 · 02/06/2021 19:42

I made a similar comment to a friend, just a throwaway one and her reply changed my perspective completely

Her sister is 34. She has special needs and has the mental age of an 8 year old... And loves Disney. In that moment I felt like such a cow, I'd only considered it from my perspective and that I'd never buy it in a million years... But my friends sister should be able to have clothes she loves

Hoppinggreen · 02/06/2021 19:42

It’s terrible, I go on the Boden website to buy a nice sensible dress and it turns up with Goofy on one boob , Scrooge McDuck on the other and Mickey Mouse on my arse.

Where the Fuck are you shopping OP?

MyNameIsElizaDay · 02/06/2021 19:42

If Snoopy is on it, it’s on me!!!

seashells11 · 02/06/2021 19:43

People by it because it's there. Some people will buy anything. We get dictated to every year by the clothes industry, by what they decide we should wear.

NerrSnerr · 02/06/2021 19:44

@seashells11 just because you don't like it doesn't mean that applies to everyone. Have you read the thread? Some people clearly like character clothing. I have one top with Bruce from Finding Nemo on. I bought it because it made me smile (it's not in adult size though, it's an extra large child or something).

katy1213 · 02/06/2021 19:45

I can't imagine where you're shopping!

Lipz · 02/06/2021 19:46

Oh I wish I could find clothing like this. I'm in Ireland so they tend to keep the characters to under 5 years of age. My dd who is a teen and is disabled loves all characters but when we shop for clothing for her age, it's all teen stuff, as she's in a wheelchair I need proper clothing that covers her and not skinny jeans and crop tops.

Hazelnutlatteplease · 02/06/2021 19:51

No I buy it because is Disney and it's there

her reply changed my perspective completely....
Seriously though...
My annual trip to Disneyland Paris got me through a serious crappy divorce, DS being diagnosed with SN and then the fairly horrific process where were realised there was more serious physical problems and I had to fight nearly 6 years for a diagnosis.
Disney anything reminds me that life can be fun even when everything is crap.

sadperson16 · 02/06/2021 19:53

Finding it hard to get worked up about this one.

ZoeMaye · 02/06/2021 19:55

Except for supermarket clothes and Primark I never see Disney on adult clothes

RedcurrantPuff · 02/06/2021 19:56

I find grown adults losing their shit over Disney weird generally but hey doesn’t affect me so not bothered.

Zealois · 02/06/2021 19:59

Hmm. I don't really care about Disney or watch Disney stuff but Primark often has REALLY soft Disney t-shirts so I have a bunch of those that I wear at home.

I don't see a lot of Disney or character clothing in other clothes shops though.

Ickythefirebobby · 02/06/2021 20:01
@Ickythefirebobby what if your child wanted to wear something with a 'kid logo' or are they not allowed any individual choice??
When my son was very young, over 20 years ago, the character clothing consisted of Bob the builder and teletubbies type stuff. Fine for jamas but not for outside clothes. He chose his own clothes as he got older.

TheBullfinch · 02/06/2021 20:01

I've literally never seen this. Where are you shopping? Is it a new trend? Havent been shopping for a year (properly).

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 02/06/2021 20:02

I think you should make way for Prince Ali...show some respect....down on one knee

slashlover · 02/06/2021 20:03

I've just ordered a shirt with Minnie on it and on with ET. I'm currently wearing a Pusheen PJ top while drinking a cup of tea out of a Pusheen mug. My work wardrobe is very plain and conservative so it's nice to have a few fun things. Most of my wardrobe is plain though.

elfycat · 02/06/2021 20:03

If we all liked the same things, to wear, or eat, or hobbies - the world would be a very dull place.

I love Disney. I don't wear Disney branded clothing, but I don't wear logo'd or branded anything. I hate it if FatFace embroider their logo onto a top for instance.

I do have pokemon hat and gloves - but they were hand crocheted for me by a Secret Santa. DD2 and I fight over who gets to wear them, particularly when we are Pokemon hunting.

SkodaKodiaq · 02/06/2021 20:06

The worst trend of all, are those leggings that make the person look like they've got a huge wedgie.....🤢

TheMostHappy · 02/06/2021 20:08

Disney isn't my style but I also find the t-shirts that say something like "bonjour" or "Chicago" on them a bit odd. Same with glittery stars and foil logos

ArabeI · 02/06/2021 20:08

The Disney collaboration has been done quite a lot in Cath Kidston, too. I don't like it, personally. It still looks more like toddler clothing.

NigellaSeed · 02/06/2021 20:09

Ha ha 😂
