Wow! I don't think I've ever seen such a perfect couple. She looks incredible - radiant, Boris looks handsome as hell and they are absolutely made for each other. Let me be absolutely clear - this is a marriage made in heaven and one of the great romantic stories of our time has now been consecrated in holy matrimony.

A tale for the ages of love conquering all. With the love of this brilliant woman, I'm certain our wonderful PM can lead us all into better time, sparking off an incredible post Covid golden age that allows every person in this country to prosper and flourish. Watch the £ fly, just like Boris will go from strength to strength I have no doubt sterling will too. It's so Inspiring!

Salute Carrie and Boris! Yours is a story that will be told to future generations as the greatest love of all.

Ah I'm envious now, we only have a boring female pm. Think we got to vote for juicer headlines next time.

But you go op Grin.

IndecentCakes · 31/05/2021 14:41

They truly are the Giorgio and Phil for the 20's. Like cheese and pineapple on sticks, tea and cake, Kylie and Jason, Domestos Max and the downstairs loo on a Sunday night when the kids are all home, they go together, together, and their hearts are oh so true.

mrscoxaools · 31/05/2021 15:47

I'm genuinely astonished people think it will last 5 years!

I think that will depend on how soon he sets up his next mistress and whether she produces yet another of his multitudinous offspring.

Chocolatier9 · 31/05/2021 16:40

Oh come on, it might last. Greater philanderers have run out of steam eventually and settled down. Rod Stewart, for example.

Giantrooster · 31/05/2021 16:51

Rod Stewart, for example.

Is it a hair thing?

TulisaIsBrill · 31/05/2021 17:08

@Giantrooster

Rod Stewart, for example.

Is it a hair thing?

I don't fancy Rod at all. I mean, vocally, he's outstanding - Who wouldn't like a male Bonnie Tyler? Half the time when I hear 'its a heartache', I think 'excellent - some Rod Stewart'. But then I remember it's Bonnie, and I light up a marlboro red in honour. She famously didn't smoke, of course, and yet I can't think of anything more appropriate.

To square the circle, and get back to the point, Boris is supposedly an incredible vocal talent too. Rumour has it it was him serenading Carrie with 'Total Eclipse of the Heart', even inviting Gianfranco Zola to represent his role in the video that finally convinced Carrie to tie the knot.

And this is what I mean by a tale for the ages. There's some many little fabulous details that you can't help but be drawn in a wowed by it. I've been on cloud 9 for days!

I think you have been 'in character' OP even longer than Sacha Baron Cohen used to be for Ali G, or Steve Coogan as Alan Partridge. Your fortitude is to be admired.

Though I think the reference to Gianfranco Zola found you out.

InteriorDesignHell · 31/05/2021 17:14

Bless you OP, for a moment I thought Mrs Merton was miraculously back with us

Giantrooster · 31/05/2021 17:14

I'm happy you have taken residency on cloud 9 op Grin.

My take, if you have shit unruly hair, you apparently have the libido and morals of a duck Grin. I guess it's not only you falling for that.

😤

If this is a thinly veiled reference to gold-diggers, then I remind you that Boris is independently wealthy and he's not after Carrie's money. 250k to him is chicken feed after all (I agree with that, since 1971 it's been inevitable that the £ would be consistently devalued once we decoupled from a gold standard).

I more think the Kanye / Jamie Foxx classic sums it up. I often think of Boris and I see that motivation.

Now, I ain't sayin' you a gold digger, you got needs,

You don't want a dude to smoke but he can't buy weed,

You go out to eat, he can't pay, y'all can't leave -
There's dishes in the back, he gotta roll up his sleeves

But while y'all washin', watch him
He gon' make it to a Benz out of that Datsun

He got that ambition, baby, look at his eyes
This week he moppin' floors, next week it's the fries

So stick by his side
I know there's dudes ballin', and yeah, that's nice

And they gonna keep callin' and tryin', but you stay right, girl

And when you get on, he'll leave yo' ass for a white girl

Whoops - the last line is obviously not appropriate. Neither of them will ever part the other, this is true love for life.

Hmmm...

That reminds me, OH needs to book a haircut.

ZaraW · 31/05/2021 17:33

OP can you please come back and post again once BoJo has found a new girlfriend and is getting his third divorce?

Anniegetyourgun · 31/05/2021 17:39

Ah, you've overdone it this time, it's too obvious. The Cummings one could have just been yer common or garden lunatic, but this one's definitely a spoof.

SamusIsAGirl · 31/05/2021 17:40

I'm sure that's a relief to Boris - given his current money woes at least he'll be able to bum those £50 notes off her whenever he feels a bit chilly.

Sweetslumber · 31/05/2021 17:47

🤣🤣🤣
Up until now there has only been one MNetter I wished I knew in real life.
Now two! You’ve just joined them.

Brill is on a roll today !! 😂

Nope. Some of us just dislike silly attention-seeking pointless threads

Really?? You obviously enjoy posting comments on them, though. Why not just scroll past and find a thread you do like??

Anyway, here’s to the newly wed couple, I wonder how long the wedded bliss will last? Grin

newnortherner111 · 31/05/2021 18:14

OP you are definitely from the Ali G school of being in character. The Gold Standard was abandoned in the UK in 1931.

Leave her alone! She's right, this vacuous nonsense shouldn't be encouraged. We should all be living a life of meaning, and enjoying tolling in the drudgery and mundanity of our soul sucking day to day life.

Mumsnet should be about serious issues, not my excitement at a beautiful love story. Her post gave me a lot to reflect on and I'm basing one of my weekly sessions at The Priory around why I seek to live my life vicariously through Boris and Carrie, or fantasising about Dominc Cummings etc.

Perhaps I should have pinned down the fact I was talking about the end of the Bretton Woods agreement. Ok, sterling was a different case, but it was what happened in 71 that set off the real spiral of despair we found ourselves in now.

I wonder if his children attended? They don’t seem to like their father much.
They couldn't all attend, weddings are limited to 30 guests aren't they?

@TulisaIsBrill

"Boris is a man of commitment- yep, so far he’s committed to three wives Loyalty - see above Altruistic - in no way, shape or form is Boris altruistic"

I've explained before that commitment can be looked at in different ways. To me, he has committed to the pursuit of true love, not some compromised version of it that means we are stuck with an inadequate life. This shows the drive and determination of the man to chase his purpose in life, relentlessly.

There are those who say that the more selfish choice is the most selfless one, because it leads to the best outcome for all in the end. Altruism can mean this. I highly suggest reading Matthew Mcconaughey's fabulous 'Greenlights' for more or on this way of thinking. I'm pretty sure that's Boris' new Bible - because the dignified way he acts reminds me of that great Texan.

I stand corrected, masterfully put 😁😁
