Overrated places in the UK

What are your over rated places in the U.K. that everyone else seems to love?

Mine is the Peak District which imo has mediocre scenery spoilt by too many roads and too many people. I hate it and only ever agree to go if there’s nowhere else and we need to stop somewhere that way.

I’m saying Brighton. Wanky and grimy.

Southwold but I live near there and get fed up of there being no where to park when we go there...

I did see someone say Worthing is the new Brighton the other day which could lead to some disappointment on a day out.

Cornwall

Isle of Wight. It was like a giant Brexit retirement village. They sold Golliwog memorabilia in tourist shops. The beaches were shit. It was like a giant version of Rhyl....

Edinburgh, I'm sure its lovely and I must be missing something.

I agree with @SmidgenofaPigeon Brighton is indeed wanky and grimy and doesn't even have sand on the beach!

I've been visiting for years as have family and friends there.

It gets raved about as a cool place to live but I just can't see why.

Yep, absolutely.

Lived there. Couldn’t afford to keep living there so moved to the Fens. So much happier.

Worthing has a nice sea front in a "bucket and spade holiday" kind of way.

I'll say Bournemouth (went there on holiday from Brighton, it didn't really feel like a holiday - just a normal town)
