Why has the last thread been taken down with a ‘goady op’ message?
What’s so goady about asking why we can’t criticise the actions of Israel?
Don’t even give a shit this is a TAAT and will get zapped.

Palestine exists. Ethnic cleansing is happening. And every single thread gets taken down.

Only one person on that thread shouted anti semitism. Every one else was mostly in agreement about what is happening and it still gets zapped.

I’ll once again direct people to friends of al Aqsa on Instagram and Twitter in the hopes people see this and would like some real information.

Israel is an occupying oppressor committing genocide and the Palestinians are an oppressed people. There is no comparison in the force power and might of these two groups esp when one has the backing and funding of the US.

Seriously pissed at MN for refusing to allow truths to be told about the situation

At least 139 people have been killed in Gaza and nine in Israel since the fighting began on Monday,

@BlackForestCake

There are protests in solidarity with Palestine this weekend, in London it's 12pm today at Marble Arch

Dunno if I'm allowed to link but there's a list of protests elsewhere on the Stop the War Coalition site

What could possibly go wrong?
Adventureswith · 15/05/2021 13:54

Just watching an elderly woman in our town draped in an Israeli flag get moved on by the police for yelling at some guys in a Turkish barber shop... she’s moving on to the Muslim grocery shop next. Police following her. I mean, what is the point of that?
I think she’s on probably on her way to the shopping centre where a charity are fundraising for Palestine.
This conflict is spilling way out of the M.E.

Israel has just bombed the Al-Jalaa tower, the building that houses the Al Jazeera offices and other international media channels inc. The Associated Press, in Gaza city. Israel is also cutting electricity supplies to Gaza - there will soon be a media blackout.

AnnieLofriar · 15/05/2021 14:07

A missile just landed next to my brother in law's apartment in Ramat Gan. People have been killed. Innocent civilians. Intentionally. This is a war crime.

To be fair to the Israeli military, when you have two million plus people in an area the size of the Isle of Wight, it's quite hard to bomb it without hitting some civilians.

Whether bombing it is the solution to any problem whatsoever is a different question.

JustFedUpOfThis · 15/05/2021 14:11

From the BBC today

Muhammad Hadidi, the father of four of the children killed in an Israeli air strike on the Shati refugee camp in Gaza, has lost almost everyone. His wife, Maha, and the children were staying with her brother when the building was hit.

His five-month-old baby, Omar, is said to be the only survivor, found trapped in the rubble next to his dead mother.

Hadidi wants "the unjust world to see these crimes", he told the AFP news agency, speaking outside Shifa hospital in Gaza City.

"They were safe in their homes, they did not carry weapons, they did not fire rockets," he said of his children, who were killed "wearing their clothes for Eid al-Fitr", the holiday marking the end of Ramadan.

In total, the air strike killed ten people from an extended family, including eight children, according to Palestinian officials in Gaza.

It seems very quiet in the international condemnation front, has Biden said anything?

Bombing a refugee camp, really Israel? Netanyahu is destroying his countries reputation in front of the whole world. Bombing the building that holds
press and cutting off the electricity isn’t going to stop news coverage.

Israel has ghettoed these people in there are bombed them .They know full well what they are doing and what the consequences would be. It’s a slaughter - a crime against Humanity. Shame on you Israeli Government

Puttingouthefirewithgasoline · 15/05/2021 14:40

But where is the international condemnation?

Adventureswith · 15/05/2021 14:41

‘ To be fair to the Israeli military, when you have two million plus people in an area the size of the Isle of Wight, it's quite hard to bomb it without hitting some civilians’

I have no doubt that the density of the population was taken into account. I also have no doubt that the Israelis could care less about the lives of the Palestinians in Gaza, even the children.

SofiaMichelle · 15/05/2021 14:55

Exactly. They will be doing their best to avoid civilians but when the terrorists' rockets are being launched from civilian areas it is going to be difficult for the Israelis to avoid them.

Don't they accuse the Palestinians of deliberately siting schools, hospitals etc next to military targets!
AnnieLofriar · 15/05/2021 15:08

Hamas and Islamic Jihad launch the rockets next to schools, hospitals etc. Using civilians as shields since they know they wouldn't stand a chance otherwise.

Also, many Gazans have been injured and killed by rockets, mortars and missiles aimed at israel but falling short.

AnnieLofriar · 15/05/2021 15:11
@AnnieLofriar brother-in-law I meant
Thank you. He and his family are fine but shocked. His neighbours were not so lucky Sad
Perhaps this "victory" of killing innocent civilians in a suburb of Tel Aviv (because that's their goal) will allow Hamas to declare a ceasefire

@AnnieLofriar the problem is - most of the people on this thread just don't believe it. They do not believe that Hamas are using civilians, and there is not enough proof in this world that will make them change their mind.
JustFedUpOfThis · 15/05/2021 15:19

Now the Israelis are taking out the press. Destroying the building with associate press and al-jazeera. Using the convenient lie of “Hamas were in the building”

No external journalists allowed to cross from Israel into Gaza. So Israel now aiming to control the narrative too - so we can expect the same propaganda on TV as we’re getting on this thread.

To the pro-Israelis - does the death of one adult Israeli by a terrorist attack, as absolutely tragic as that it, really
Bother you more than the Israeli government killing 8 children? Your responses here are chillingly cold and add further evidence to the belief that many Israelis simply don’t value Palestinian lives.

justasecond · 15/05/2021 15:23

Just Fed Up. Agreed the response is quite chilling. I honestly can't be bothered with them anymore.

Rubbish. It's also to do with intent and modalities. And EVERY government values the lives of its citizens when under attack more than the lives of their attackers. America does it, Britain does it, France does it. It's not racist, it's human nature and, under international law, it is accepted that there may be civilian deaths in a conflict.

In fact, the Palestinians do EXACTLY the same, by the way. In fact, they celebrate and hand out sweets when Israelis die. Do they not value Israeli lives?

Acidburn · 15/05/2021 15:33

@JustFedUpOfThis oh, I am sorry that I care about my family being there more than about anyone else at the moment. And in regards to your statements of "many Israelies not valuing Palestinian lives" - that, my friend, is not directed at the Government anymore, that stinks of racism and antisemitism.
