Why has the last thread been taken down with a ‘goady op’ message?
What’s so goady about asking why we can’t criticise the actions of Israel?
Don’t even give a shit this is a TAAT and will get zapped.

Palestine exists. Ethnic cleansing is happening. And every single thread gets taken down.

Only one person on that thread shouted anti semitism. Every one else was mostly in agreement about what is happening and it still gets zapped.

I’ll once again direct people to friends of al Aqsa on Instagram and Twitter in the hopes people see this and would like some real information.

Israel is an occupying oppressor committing genocide and the Palestinians are an oppressed people. There is no comparison in the force power and might of these two groups esp when one has the backing and funding of the US.

Seriously pissed at MN for refusing to allow truths to be told about the situation

@Faffandahalf my anecdotes? Really? Did you run out of arguments as I can see?
As Taylor Swift said - "haters gonna hate". Don't choke in your own venom.

Farmology · 12/05/2021 21:46

CNN has some good coverage, for anyone wanting a view outside of U.K. news

Acidburn · 12/05/2021 21:47

@Cosmos123 no, I don't need any help - have you missed the fact that I am the oppressor here? I am Israeli (if you haven't read the whole thread)

Farmology · 12/05/2021 21:47

‘ As Taylor Swift said - "haters gonna hate".’

Ah yes, a quote from a TS song, that’s lent some seriousness to the debate. FFS.

StoneofDestiny · 12/05/2021 21:48

Acidburn
It is categorically not true to say Israel has not stopped vital supplies to Palestinians. Almost every press outlet has reported that Covid vaccines had been stopped from entering Gaza by Israel.

This is an entitled mind.
Exactly as the whites behaved in Apartheid South Africa.

I know exactly what you are

Acidburn · 12/05/2021 21:51

You can call me bully, you can call me any names you want, you can try to insult me - but I will come to every single thread to argue the fact that you cannot spread violence with no consequences. I will say it as Jewish, as Israeli, as whatever you label me (wouldn't be the first time).

StoneofDestiny · 12/05/2021 21:51

Israel has refused to provide vaccines for the more than four million Palestinians living under its military rule.

In short, this is medical apartheid where one group gets the privilege of being vaccinated while the other suffers under the weight of disease, forcing doctors to make decisions about who lives and who dies.

Living under Israeli military rule means virtually all decisions, particularly regarding movement, are controlled by Israel. These rules apply to people, and to goods, too. Israeli permission is needed to send anything into or out of the West Bank or the Gaza Strip. With no airport or a seaport of their own, everything sent to Palestinians must also be brought in through Israel – including vaccines.

To make matters worse, while refusing to provide vaccines to Palestinians, Israel has sent vaccines to Guatemala and Honduras – two countries that moved their embassies to Jerusalem in defiance of international law; countries whose actions further harm Palestinians.

DeepThinkingGirl · 12/05/2021 21:52

Acidburn

You’re conflating.

I’ve been careful to personally make it clear this is about the israeli government, and soldiers being held accountable.

This isn’t about Israeli citizens.. because they don’t answer to international law.

No one is talking about Jews, or Israelis (who have Arabs and Muslims and Druze and Christians). This isn’t about a religion or a race or an individual.

This is about a government. That needs to be held accountable.

Don’t make this personal because that deflects from the bigger picture.

No one called you an oppressor. But you would be if you want to blindly defend your governments actions without holding it accountable to human rights laws.

Acidburn · 12/05/2021 21:52

@Farmology because there is no debate. As I said earlier - whenever someone is trying to say anything apart from "free Palestine" - they are immediately being attached and called names.

Faffandahalf · 12/05/2021 21:53

Not sure what you mean @Acidburn
I haven’t attacked you in any way.
What venom am I spouting exactly except what the UN/Amnesty international and other humanitarian agencies have reported for decades. Crimes against humanity by Israel. Is this now venom? Or an uncomfortable truth?

Israelis have been singing ‘May they be erased’ while cheering as Al Aqsa burned two days ago. Yet you insist on talking about Palestinians being taught to hate Jews as though it doesn’t happen the other way around.

People tend to hate their oppressors. Yes.

Israel is an Apartheid state. A shameful state. Palestinian lives matter.
Agreed.
StoneofDestiny · 12/05/2021 21:54

No one who inhabits Israel right now has stolen from Palestinian people

Utter rubbish.
Israel has stolen Palestinian land and the homes of families living there.

Faffandahalf · 12/05/2021 21:55

No one has called you any names or attacked you @Acidburn

One person used the word bullies in the plural in a general post. Which they shouldn’t have.

Hamas are terrorists.
Violent terrorists.
They have been bombing Israel all day.
Israelis have died today.
All lives matter.

tricyclepop · 12/05/2021 21:56

If another country did this or if this was the other way round, I really wonder how the world would respond. Sanctions? Peace forces? Military intervention? Why does a big fish get to do as they please violating human rights costing human lives which 100% includes women, children and other civilians? In what world do we live in where people are forced to live in a small area that can't leave, trapped with restricted food, water and medical needs? These people aren't caged animals. On one side, a country lives with extreme wealth taken from people from the other side where these people are trapped and can't escape and have military constantly oppressing these people. On one side the military is one of the worlds top military with the latest technology and endless weapons and on the other side civilians with catapults defending their homes that are illegally taken away because they want to create a new settlement.

Have you ever woken up in the middle of the night with this military forcing entry into your home? Have you ever had to worry about when your next meal and clean water would come from and if you can access medicine? Have you ever worried about your safety when praying in a religious setting when your most vulnerable to be tear gassed and attacked by rubber bullets? Have you ever lived through this where the public from this country celebrates and chants death to them all. Yes poor Israel they are suffering so much aren't they?

I tell you what, I have never seen such a coward state in my life where a 3 year old Palestinian has more backbone in protecting its home than a weapon rich blood thirsty Israeli soldier that can only hide behind its big guns. It's ok for Israel to use maximum force to wipe out civilians but how dare a Palestinian child throw a rock.

DeepThinkingGirl · 12/05/2021 21:56

Honestly think this is provocative language.

I think we need to maintain the flow of the discussion away from Acid flow as she is clearly not serious about the rights of Palestinians and therefore, is being dismissive and wishing to distract this debate.

I think she is looking for reactions to her this debate shut down.

Farmology · 12/05/2021 21:59

‘ You can call me bully, you can call me any names you want, you can try to insult me ’

Oh give over. No-ones bullying you. There are just more people here disagreeing with you than agreeing and also providing actual facts against some of the fairytales being spun in favour of the behaviour of the Israeli state. I did laugh at the the one about big hses and free council tax.
Stil, that’s what a debate about innit. Also, I can’t imagine it’s easy to stomach being perceived as the bad guy.

Acidburn · 12/05/2021 21:59

@DeepThinkingGirl believe it or not - I did not vote for the current government. But I was called a bully, because I simply said that both sidrs need to find it in themselves to communicate. But Faff keeps making it about me personally every single time I say something she disagrees with. She has no right to say that my words are anecdotes, this is insulting to me. But she does it purposely just to gaslight.

Warsawa31 · 12/05/2021 22:00

@Acidburn

The weight of opinion indeed the popular way to view this conflict is inherently oppressor v oppressed.

It's not that in my view - I don't blindly support any country but I will continue to put the argument across on behalf of Israel, because it's vital that you continue exist as the only Jewish state in the entire world, and there are no shortage of people in the world of all faiths and none that wish that wasn't the case.

StoneofDestiny · 12/05/2021 22:00

Amnesty International
For half a century, Israel’s occupation of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip has resulted in systematic human rights violations against Palestinians living there.

Since the occupation first began in June 1967, Israel’s ruthless policies of land confiscation, illegal settlement and dispossession, coupled with rampant discrimination, have inflicted immense suffering on Palestinians, depriving them of their basic rights.

Israel’s military rule disrupts every aspect of daily life in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. It continues to affect whether, when and how Palestinians can travel to work or school, go abroad, visit their relatives, earn a living, attend a protest, access their farmland, or even access electricity or a clean water supply. It means daily humiliation, fear and oppression. People’s entire lives are effectively held hostage by Israel.

Israel has also adopted a complex web of military laws to crush dissent against its policies, and senior government officials have branded Israelis advocating for Palestinian rights as “traitors”.

Justnot · 12/05/2021 22:02

Acidburn apparently wants to punch me so don’t feel too bad if he heard the word bully and it fit.

Acidburn · 12/05/2021 22:04

@Farmology Oh, I am not the bad guy - I haven't done anything to contribute to this war. Neither has my father, who is 73 and has to run to the bomb shelter every single time the siren goes off. This must be so nice to sit in the UK and talk about the issue when it's not your family who is in danger.
