Unexpectedly amazing food

I recently bought some Chicago Town Loaded Tomato pizzas as they were on offer in the local shop, I'm not normally that keen on frozen pizza so I cooked it for the kids and just saved myself a sliver.... Omg it was amazing. I had to go out and buy 3 more. When I was buying it the checkout lady said. "have you tried these, it's the best pizza ever?".

I gave my neighbours a slice each and unprompted they said it was the best pizza they have ever had!!

What unexpectedly amazing food have you tried recently... I need new good food in my life!!

Ricotta stuffed peppadews from Sainsbury’s. Delicious.

Dr Oetker pizza is my favourite.

Waitrose do these little President crispy Brie slices, oh my god I love them.

Aldi red pepper and feta little roll things (like a sausage roll but obvs no sausage). Epic

Fragata tinned stoneless manzanilla olives are the best olives in the world.

I used to love pizza that asda did with chicken and some sort of red pepper on it. They don’t do it anymore sadly.

DS’s favourite is the Aldi sourdough pizza with the little balls of buffalo mozzarella and roasted cherry tomatoes and globs of pesto on. He’s OBSESSED. I’d never really shopped in Aldi before and was pleasantly surprised!

Fresh pretzels form the Romanian shop 😋😋😋

Ooh, and Waitrose do these sweet potato falafels that have raisins and carrot and cumin in - dunked in houmous, they are the food OF THE GODS

Come on now, there’s no way that a Chicago town pizza can be the best pizza ever! I can’t stand frozen pizzas.

Bags of mini saucisson from Waitrose. Used to buy similar bags from supermarket in France when I worked there, so very happy to find them here!

Aldi do a cheese bake in a little terracotta dish. There’s one with chorizo in too and it’s lovely.

Love an Asda create your own pizza but its a very specific like based on it being food of the God's when I was a teen. Ideal sleepover food. It's not actually a great pizza.

Chicago town pizza, as with all frozen pizza is absolutely mingin. I'm really more of a fresh pizza person (and that's not as good as a nice Italian style take away).

Waitrose do a nice antipasta pizza. Is yum.

Farmfoods does good frozen fish, pleasantly surprised, but I wouldn't claim.it's the best ever

Being coeliac, I get ridiculously excited when I find a really decent gluten-free alternative.

A recent discovery has been Warburton’s GF crumpets. They shit all over other GF crumpets (which are barely edible). Not great for the waistline though!

Lidl frozen calamari. Honestly I have never had better from a restaurant. Delicious!

😂😂 now reading it back I’m also sceptical. I half imagine OP coming back with ‘no seriously, it’s so good I bought five for DB’s birthday, and we were all literally queuing in the garden to get a slice. He couldn’t believe it and said it was the best birthday meal ever’

These are SO good!

It’s a bit weird to give a bit of frozen pizza to your neighbours. What do you do, knock on the door with a bit in a kitchen roll? I’d think you were nuts.

Asda veggie pulled pork is incredible. Having not eaten meat in a decade I’d long given up on the ‘chew’ of it as fake meat is very soft. I bought it reduced just to try and was so amazed I went back the next day to buy three more. Without the bbq sauce you can flavour it however you want and it made the most amazing hot pot.

Also Aldi garlic bread was incredible. So buttery and soft it was like a dominoes one and about 1/10 of the price:
