Unexpectedly amazing food

I recently bought some Chicago Town Loaded Tomato pizzas as they were on offer in the local shop, I'm not normally that keen on frozen pizza so I cooked it for the kids and just saved myself a sliver.... Omg it was amazing. I had to go out and buy 3 more. When I was buying it the checkout lady said. "have you tried these, it's the best pizza ever?".

I gave my neighbours a slice each and unprompted they said it was the best pizza they have ever had!!

What unexpectedly amazing food have you tried recently... I need new good food in my life!!

I agree based on a price/quality perspective.

Yes I like those pizzas too.

I like the posh looking (but quite cheap) chocolate from Aldi. Probably the most delicious chocolate around at the moment in supermarkets.

Aldi do (or used to do) gluten-free triple chocolate cookies which are the best I've ever tasted. So delicious and rich yet light. I normally feel a bit sick and full if I eat more than two soft cookies, but with these you can eat the entire box and not feel sick.

Sainsbury's lentil dahl soup is fekking lovely.

Aldi's microwave spinach and ricotta cannelloni.

I was raving about it at work. Now my colleagues and I have "cannelloni club" after they tried and agreed.

Chicago town pizzas (loaded cheese takeaway ones) are incredible though! Even my pizza hating DH enjoys a slice.

I nominate the posh Spanish marmalade waitrose sells. So zingy and juicy...hands down the best

Pizza is basically cheese & tomato on toast - what's so good about it?

The Chicago Town pizzas, are, as we say in Scotland "absolutely honkin"

Can't stop laughing at this post 😂

A few of the supermarkets seem to do a version of these, I love Tesco's ones.

Chicago Town tiger bread pizza is glorious. I bought it as a cheap meal for my nephew and me.

Aldi Florentines
I can't buy them, because I have to eat the whole pack.

Tesco own stuffed crust cheese and tomato pizza.

The only pizza available when I tried to go shopping during the first lockdown and a massive lovely surprise

I've been eating marmite and peanut butter for years! It's better when you mix your own as you can get it just how marmitey you like.

My 4-year-old made herself a marmite and jam sandwich the other day and said it was delicious. I trust you as much as I trusted her. Wink

@HandforthParishCouncilClerk those pizzas are awesome.
I normally get a meat one, but tried the veggie mozzarella and tomato one and wow! The base is the perfect thickness and the toppling is sooo tasty.

I've tried Asda's pizza many a time. Hate their spongy base, I eat them because I'm hungry

Dr. Oetker yes. Thin base and not too many calories.

Best pizza is my own base topped by me. Sorry will sound a pratt but I realised what pizza should taste like after doing this.

Omg I had this in my work canteen the other day and had to ask the cook what pizza it was! I was shocked as I've never liked Chicago Town pizza!

@SinkGirl

Come on now, there’s no way that a Chicago town pizza can be the best pizza ever! I can’t stand frozen pizzas.

Bags of mini saucisson from Waitrose. Used to buy similar bags from supermarket in France when I worked there, so very happy to find them here!

Just because you don't like frozen pizza doesn't mean it isn't nice. I had lidl's mozzarella (the one with with pesto) the other day and it was 👌👌👌

I usually just put frozen pizza directly on the oven shelf - made the stupid mistake of doing the same with a CT one ........very messy
