Unexpectedly amazing food

I recently bought some Chicago Town Loaded Tomato pizzas as they were on offer in the local shop, I'm not normally that keen on frozen pizza so I cooked it for the kids and just saved myself a sliver.... Omg it was amazing. I had to go out and buy 3 more. When I was buying it the checkout lady said. "have you tried these, it's the best pizza ever?".

I gave my neighbours a slice each and unprompted they said it was the best pizza they have ever had!!

What unexpectedly amazing food have you tried recently... I need new good food in my life!!

I'm not vegetarian but am trying to limit meat to the nth degree. I have just had a Ljnda McCartney mozzarella burger and I will never eat a meat burger again.

You’ve just reminded me that Fry’s fake chicken nuggets are a brilliant substitute for meat ones. We eat loads of them.

These go well with the sabra hummus. I can't buy them as I would happily eat the entire bag

Higgidy cheese rolls. OMG they were sublime! Expensive but worth it! I wonder what their quiches are like?

Also Chicago Town microwave pizzas, the round ones, two in a pack. The food of the gods!

OMG love a Chicago town! It’s the only one my kids will eat as well. Has anyone tried the vegan jackfruit one? Heaven on a plate Halo

I once bought lidls own version of magnums as they had no boxes of magnums left... that was years ago as I found lidls ones so much nicer and flavourful

Nestlé marronsuisse - chestnut mousse - which I discovered as a teen in France and have adored ever since.

Only available in France, I recently found them on a U.K. French online supermarket. So I had to order some. The postage was £8 😱

But so worth it.

Toast with tahini and honey. Some Australian woman I used to work with made if for me, and it sounded grim. Without the honey, it is indeed grim. With the honey, it is like peanut butter but even better.

Is it Chicago Town that do the tiger bread based pizza? If so then it’s bloody amazing!!!!

Nothing wrong with a Chicago Town pizza!!!!!

Agree with pp that it’s because the dough is cooked from raw.

@ZenNudist

Suspect OP of being paid to promote Chicago town.

Love an Asda create your own pizza but its a very specific like based on it being food of the God's when I was a teen. Ideal sleepover food. It's not actually a great pizza.

Chicago town pizza, as with all frozen pizza is absolutely mingin. I'm really more of a fresh pizza person (and that's not as good as a nice Italian style take away).

Waitrose do a nice antipasta pizza. Is yum.

Haha, thanks for this. I almost put it on my shopping list 😂

Dosas from a food stall
Weekend shambles market in york
Never had one before but as they are gluten free will definitely try them again

Interestingly DD begged me to get a Chicago town pepperoni pizza from the local shop. I gave in as I swear I used to like them when I was 10.

Minging. Absolutely minging. Even little heathen DD who wouldn't appreciate a proper Pizza if it hit her refused to eat more than a bite.

@3Britnee

😂😂😂😂 At the pizza snobs and just pure wanky posts on this thread.

🙄

I eat processed foods but frozen / supermarket pizzas are really unpleasant. Taste completely synthetic and awful (mind you, same goes for Pizza Hut and Dominos)

In the last five years or so I’ve been spoiled by a lot of really amazing stone baked pizza places near me, but even before that I couldn’t stomach those things.

If that makes me a pizza snob, I’ll own it, while eating a really nice fresh pizza 😬

Oooh also the discovery of Sabra hummus which is the nearest thing to 'real' middle Eastern hummus I've had rather than the grainy supermarket stuff. It is absolutely full of fat though

But absolutely bloody delightful. I only let myself eat it with carrot sticks 😋

@ohforarainyday

Aldi do (or used to do) gluten-free triple chocolate cookies which are the best I've ever tasted. So delicious and rich yet light. I normally feel a bit sick and full if I eat more than two soft cookies, but with these you can eat the entire box and not feel sick.

Bet they aren’t vegan though
So many gf things have lactose in as well 😢
