John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness has (had?) been my all-time favourite Doctor Who character. I knew JB has a history of indecently exposing himself on set multiple times, but today I learned that he not only exposed his dick repeatedly but also non-consensually touched fellow actors with it -- like Camille Coduri (who played Rose Tyler's mum)!

AIBU to think that he got away with this only because he is gay? If he had been straight, wouldn't non-consensually putting his dick on his female co-star's body from behind have landed him loads of trouble already? I was utterly shocked to watch the video -- I don't know how I should be feeling after learning that my favourite Doctor Who actor behaved in this despicable manner.

I've always thought that JB comes across as a tiresome and pleased with himself twat, as do so many people in light entertainment.

Continually getting his bum or dick out, and thinking it so hilarious indicates in my view that there is something wrong with him, from inability to empathise or pick up social cues to some kind of mental condition, as well as the run of the mill misogyny.
JB was indulged and allowed to get away with this sort of behaviour for years. It should have been dealt with by his employers at the start. It is the employers who have the duty of care to the other actors, to make sure they aren’t alarmed, harassed or distressed.

However, it doesn’t affect his ability to act, and I still would willingly watch him in a revised Torchwood or Dr Who as Captain Jack, as I think it was his finest hour.
I'm not sure I care whether actors or other artists/entertainers are awful human beings or not, so long as they don't harm others.
Similarly, I don't care about their political views or their beliefs, and really wish they would keep them to themselves. That isn’t what I want from actors and performers.

Hope he gets dropped as a judge from Dancing on Ice, if there are future series planned.
I disliked him as a judge. I didn't know anything about his behaviour until now.
I wouldn't watch anything he is on.

Oh no! People who want JB not to be punished and allowed to continue back on Doctor Who have already started a petition. Someone in the UK please make a counter-petition! We must show the BBC that such sexual offences and power play are not to be tolerated. There should also be a petition to Parliament calling for them to revoke his MBE. (Only people in the UK can make it.)

If his co-stars make no comment then nor will I (because they are damned if they do, damned if they don't. Camille Coduri couldn't defend him even if she wanted to as the backlash of not being an ally/being a bad feminist/adding to the problem is inevitable). Watch him, don't watch. Vote with your eyes.
