@PanamaPattie

I cleaned the fire out and filled it with candles, I washed the windows, put the throws away, put the summer curtains up and I shaved my legs.

I can only apologise and seek your forgiveness.

Sheesh. Did you also look up to the sky and yell, 'Smite me, oh mighty smiter!'? Grin
gemdrop84 · 03/05/2021 16:11

No it's my fault, I bought two pairs of sandals and a skirt...

I quite like the idea of a fireplace filled with candles for the summer..

Lemonelderflower · 03/05/2021 16:13

plixy · 03/05/2021 16:13

I bought my daughter a new paddling pool. It hasn't come out the box yet.

maslinpan · 03/05/2021 16:14

I briefly thought about removing the electric blanket when I made the bed.
Feeling SO guilty!

NamechangeApril21 · 03/05/2021 16:14

I hope you're suitably ashamed of yourself.

Chersfrozenface · 03/05/2021 16:18

We had some blokes dig out a space for a patio and laid half the hardcore. This is currently covered with a tarp, for all the good that will do.

It is our fault, but we are being punished.

Stinkymutt · 03/05/2021 16:18

Yeah, thanks for that you lot. Just got back from walking the dog and I'm soaked. And she smells funny now.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 03/05/2021 16:19

I spent every sunny day last week procrastinating about painting my wooden garden planter/ladder thingy so I set everything out to do it this morning.

I blame myself...

BogRollBOGOF · 03/05/2021 16:25

I mowed the lawn.
DH fixed the hosepipe.
I'm blaming him.

Cwenthryth · 03/05/2021 16:25

Wtf is casting a cloot?

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 03/05/2021 16:26

drumandthebass · 03/05/2021 16:27

I don't usually like victim blaming but damn Pattie; you were really asking for it.

(Candles in the fire sounds amazing though!)

NotExactlyHappyToHelp · 03/05/2021 16:32

Bastards the lot of you.

However it’s my colleague at work who is the real culprit, she had a pedicure.

Last time she had one it rained biblically for weeks too.

PanamaPattie · 03/05/2021 16:35

I am hanging my head in shame. 😔

Painandmore · 03/05/2021 16:35

I bought a bikini and have washed my beach towel.
I have washed my heavy dressing gown to be put away.
I have looked up fine negligee silk dressing gowns.
I have thrown out one of my heavy hoodies as it got blood stains on it frm when nurse took cannula out and I wouldn't need it. It was my go to when at home.

My bad. I'm sorry for this pain I've caused you all. OP, you haven't helped.

Exhausted4ever · 03/05/2021 16:36

What on earth is a cloot?

OK so long as you didn't wash the windows then :)
Ninkanink · 03/05/2021 16:39

Oh yes come to think of it, a few weeks ago when the weather had changed and spring was in the air (or so I thought!) I cleared out the winter candle holders from our fireplace and replaced with spring/summer objet d'art and candles. What on earth was I thinking?!

Painandmore · 03/05/2021 16:39

@Cwenthryth

We say don't shed a clout till May is out. It's a layer of clothing, like a vest. If you do de-layer when it's sunny one day, you will get a cold as sure as night is day. Weather only to be trusted June onwards. I only set up an account on MN a few days ago but am a frequent reader. I was astonished 1 month ago where a Mum wouldn't let her toddler out as he wouldn't wear a sunhat. Highs on that day were 14 degrees. It's her fault I think. She started it.
redcandlelight · 03/05/2021 16:40

isn't a cloot a piece of fabric? i.e. don't take off the winter layers before the may freeze?

OP posts:
LittlestBoho · 03/05/2021 16:40

a cloot is apparently an archaic word for clothing, so the saying is 'don't get rid of your warm clothes before May is out.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

PugInTheHouse · 03/05/2021 16:42

I brought a sun umbrella to clip to my camping chair to watch the cricket, I feel I should take some of the blame here also!
