I take it mentioning her or her partner is banned.

Can I just say how utterly disgusted I am from learning about the actions of her partner on here- and nearly just as much from the lack of reporting of this by the press and on here too? Disgraceful. The man still has the gall to have a live Twitter account!!!

Why are you naming her but not him?

His actions are not hers.

There were reports in the news at the time.

This is a rule of misogyny isn't it - women get the blame for men's actions.

Please note I have deliberately not stated my opinion on her current relationship.

She has become a Mumsnet unmentionable, pretty depressing as this is a parenting site and staying with a sex offender, indeed being cited as reason why he will not receive a custodial sentence, is a relevant issue. I don't see this as misogynistic. I condemn his actions in watching footage of a baby being raped, but I don't see why she should be exempt from criticism for her actions in supporting him. She's a misogynist herself and seems to be one of those women who judges other women entirely on their ability to remain attractive to men; being with the paedophile, violent guy is less pathetic than being with no guy.

Her partner is called Eric Joyce. He searched for pornography relating to girls aged five to ten years old. He watched a video of children being sexually abused.

The above are all facts.

I judge India for standing by him, which I see as condoning his paedophilia.

On 7 July 2020, Joyce pleaded guilty at Ipswich Crown Court to making a Category-A indecent film of a child. On 7 August 2020 he was given a suspended prison sentence.

A woman standing by a child sex offender...I just can’t. There are literally no words. A failing on every level.

Agree but if I could just politely ask that we call images/videos of child abuse just that. It’s not pornography.

Not getting at you by the way, I know the term ‘child pornography’ is widely used but I think it’s inaccurate and shouldn’t be used.

Report

Nonmaquillee · 20/04/2021 12:01

Agree - it's child abuse. Any other term minimises it.

I'm beyond outraged at the above information; I couldn't face googling yesterday during the first (now disappeared) thread about her. What a despicable specimen of a man. And yes, I judge her, too.

Images/videos of children depicted in sex acts watched by depraved adults IS pornography of the worst kind.

Report

OnlyheretovoteonAIBU · 20/04/2021 12:02

@LetTheBirdsSing apologies, you are right. It is not pornography, just abuse. I can’t edit my post but I won’t refer to it that way again.

From my memory of the thread yesterday no one blamed India Knight for her husband's appalling behaviour. The thread was about how she had chosen to stand by him.

The thread also actually was started by an Op who had read a recent article by India Knight criticising body shaming. The Op wondered how this fitted in with her co-authored diet book called From Pig to Twig.

denverRegina It's both - it's abuse on behalf of the adults perpetrating the abuse on the children and it is watching pornography by people like Knight's partner who get off on it. Let's not split hairs over this disgusting behaviour please.

Oh I judge! this woman has an opinion on everything, from living in the suffolk countryside to what we should think about 'fat' issues and what cream to slap on our faces, but she is obviously also of the opinion that staying with a man who likes to abuse children is an ok thing to do or his arse would have skidded down their drive when she kicked him out, so yes, I judge I judge! Both of them lower than a snakes belly!

Quite @StillCoughingandLaughing. My father was a child protection social worker and he thinks they only weren’t investigated for it because of they are white and middle class.

Ponoka7 · 20/04/2021 12:18

We can judge her for her sanctimonious and judgemental writing. She ridiculed people who start their holiday off in the airport, by having a drink in the morning. But apparently your disabled 16 year old having to leave home because you are housing someone on the sexual register is fine. Wanting to find out people's addresses so your violent partner can go around and see sort them out, is worthy of judgement.

I would say that by watching such footage, the observers are perpetuating the child abuse...it's child abuse.

I think that it's important to get the terminology correct. As I said, "watching pornography" minimises what anyone watching this is actually doing.
